For those of you that have the HD LED's how many do you have linked together?
Online it says you can link nine of them with a 13in cord or end to end plug. I don't really see how it would make a difference between the 13in and 5ft cords as far as how many can be together.

Just curios how many you could string together with all of them using the five foot cord; if any of you have it setup this way.

I don't know what the cord is like, but it is probably mostly a legal thing. Kind of like the recommendation not to daisy chain power strips because somebody will plug 20 1500W heaters into them and burn their house down.

That said, depending on the gauge of wire used in the cords, there is a practical limit to how much current can be safely passed through the cords over a given distance. Longer cords have more resistance, so if you have eight 13" cords together, that's about 10' of cord. Eight 5' cords is 40'. That's significant depending on how much current the lights draw. Sorry, but I haven't checked them out because if I do, I'm probably going to want them more.

We installed a string of five of these lights with the longer cords and no problems at all, YMMV.

Thanks for the information. At this point I think I would have six at most so hopefully I'll be good.

There's a thread on here where the guy wired a TON of these lights together on one circuit. It was still under 1000w tho.

I have 4 rows of 3 for a total of 12 of these. The rows have the lights connected end to end and I have 2 of the 5ft linking cords connecting the outside rows to the inside rows and I have the 2 lights closest to the outlet plugged in. Not sure if that makes sense but I haven't had any issues yet.

So what is the stock number and price. I need some more lights in the wood shop and these might work....

I can say I am more than pleased with these lights. I installed them about 2 months ago when I had an some extra $$ come my way. The thing that I liked about them most was the linking feature, I only have to plug in 2 lights to the outlet on the roof instead of running a bunch of wires. I wanted something that looked really clean and these fit the bill.

I have more than I need and only have 6 on for daily use but I turn all 12 on when I am working on the car or like tonight when I am putting some stain on one of my recent wood projects. At first I wasn't sure how I would feel about each one having a pull string but I shortened them up so they are only about 3 inches long for each one so when I need the other 6 on I just give them a pull and I am good to go.

One thing that should be noted is that I have yet to find a way to surface mount them so if someone finds a way to do it update this thread if possible. In the mean time I have the chain that was supplied with them cut as short as possible.

I just picked some up this weekend for over the workbench. While I'm hanging mine, they do have a provision for surface mounting.

I hung 4 of these a couple weeks ago. So far so good. Very bright! And the link-able feature is nice. I only have two outlets in my ceiling for now. Yes they are a little more pricey than the Costco lights. But comparing them side by side I cant tell any significant difference in light output. I have 2 of the Costco lights also. I used the surface mount feature. I just measured 42 inches from center to center on the screws then used one screw at the end to keep from sliding off, just like the installation guide shows.

Thanks guy fellas. For some reason that illustration wasn't in the instructions with the lights I got, all 12 of them.

By the way, if anyone needs a couple of the extra linking pieces or a few of the 13 inch cords that come with the lights let me know. Let's just say I have some extras :D
