They were in the tool aisle on the pegs, in the area of the scrapers, prybars and chisels.
At my store there was a yellow clearance tag on the peg. $1.00

Mine had some pneumatic multitools marked down to about half price. Also saw the irwin 5" vice for 47$ but passed.

There were lots of clearance markdowns on some Roundup weed killer... The super concentrated jugs that normally go for 75$ were marked down to 20$ and they had an even bigger jug that was normally 120$ marked down to 30 or 40$. There were a few 1 gallon jugs of normal roundup extended control marked down to half price. If you need to kill a lot of weeds this seemed like a killer deal.

14 in 1 Husky Multi tool was 9.97 marked down to 1.00

The blades don't lock, pliers are spring assisted, knife blades need a good sharpening to cut anything, but the sheath that comes with it holds a Leatherman Super Tool 200

Re: Home Depot Clearance/sale Thread 2014

I noticed the other day the HD i usually go to had Dewalt tap & die sets but no Irwin ones. I went to another yesterday and picked up some clearance items. very glad i did i have a die stock again. there were some hobby knife blades for $1 i didn't recognize the brand but they were USA made.

I had already started opening them before I thought to take a photo. They also had some of the Ridgid coallated screwgun bits, they usually want a ridiculous $9 for 2 but there are bins of them for $2.** I'm waiting for them to go lower and probably buying 20.

My stores a lot of the Irwin clamps and vices etc at 50% clearing out to start selling Bessey stuff.

I know the Lowes thread has been going nuts with Bessey closeouts preparing to stock Irwin over there.

Will HD price match their own stores?

Only within the same region. Meaning if you see something on here posted as clearance for $5 in say California doesn't mean Florida will match the same price. All stores in a district will get the same price changes from Atlanta on the same items, for the same prices, at the same time. The only difference may be the time of day a specific store accepts the price changes versus another store. If people throw enough of a fit, as they usually do, they usually get whatever price match they want though.

It's always at the store's discretion, just like with coupons. Just an FYI : All plants, shrubs, flowers (with a few exceptions) are actually instantly credited by the plant vendor. If the tag has a PBS on it, that means the Depot gets credit for it whether it sells, gets stolen, or goes down the trash chute. It would make most people sick if you knew the amount of half decent or better plants that got destroyed to make room for a new shipment. But it's easier than setting them in a unflattering group for half off and the store gets the same amount of credit either way. That category has the most room for negotiations on price.

Re: Home Depot Clearance/sale Thread 2014

I was surprised when I took back two extra bushes last week.

The lady said did you take these off the home depot lot? I said yeah took them home for a day and returned. She said any living thing they sell that is return after it leaves is thrown in the trash when returned no matter what condition.

If your store has any Bosch SDS large bits still, check them. After months of being yellow-tagged like $5 off my store recently slashed them dramatically, like $104 to $24, and $60 to $15. I woulda grabbed some but don't have the need.

So upon further inspection today the clearance bits are SDS Max. I don't run that large but if you do/can, the discounts are deep. A few examples

So my store has also had a WeldPak 140HD in the clearance section which looked like it was a customer return as the box was opened. Who knows what the person did to it so I never looked too closely. BUT today I noticed in the regular welding section they also have a NIB unit marked down the same amount. Regular price is $524.00 and they claim a 25% discount to $393. Maybe HD is clearing out the Lincoln 140's? Not a terrible price compared to where TSC will usually price the Hobart 140's on sale.....

Just got a husky 14 in 1 multi-tool for a buck.

Other fresh markdowns:
Fiskars mini tin snips are $3
Orange handled wiss snips are $2
Various brands of utility knives are $0.50 to $1

Tool guy saw me picking through it all, said it's all being replaced by DeWalt or Milwaukee.

Like everything at home depot, it was all made in China.

Re: Home Depot Clearance/sale Thread 2014

They're item no. 62006. Mayhew Pro line. Very heavy duty feeling with metal striking cap.

All stores around Charlotte list them for $14.97, home delivery or ship to store only. But the Matthews, NC store still had 6 in stock, marked to $1.00 each. I left one for somebody else! If you're going there anyway, might worth the minute to see if your store has them in stock and marked down.

wow...what a GRAB. wish i saw this earlier.

With Hobarts that's an urban legend. Lincoln, I don't know. I do know I went to my Lincoln dealer to get tips for a Weldpak 100 from HD & he insisted the tips wouldn't fit because it wasn't an actual Lincoln machine, just re-badged something else to be sold at HD he said. I had the welder in my truck and the OE tips fit perfectly.

I don't doubt that some of the box store machines are down-graded, AND LWS's hate them so they badmouth them even if there's no foundation for their info.

The truth lies in the middle.

This may have come up earlier in the thread as I know there's been a lot of Irwin stuff, but these particular kits just appeared in my store's clearance area. Little pack of Irwin metric taps & dies, M3 thru M7. I tap a lot of M3 thru M6 for work so this is a great deal for me.

Yep those are really good dies actually. I have used them and the bigger set about 6 or 7 times already and they're worth the full price. I paid the same as you. They had a few of the taps separate with chinese drill bits packaged with them. Wish it had a M8x1.0 but nothing is perfect. The one I used most is the 5/8-18, probably chased 12 bolts & nuts with them so far & tapped 2 holes, they still look new after that.

I know Irwin bar clamps were being clearance out but now my home depot is clearing out their quick grip clamp.

Thanks for the tip, having a need is certainly not a requirement for many of us here. :D

They have a white tag rather than a yellow clearance tag, but they've got ridiculously good prices on Bosch Daredevil spade bit sets (the kind with the screw-threaded point that draws the bit through the wood).

I have one of these sets. Not great for clean and pretty work...but they tear through wood really fast with no effort on my part and are rated for impacts.

I was in a store today and the merchandising people were working. They had some .01 stuff in the basket and said they had to trash it.

On clearance at Trenton Home Depot.

Usually they don't mark things down so far at this store. Picked up a set and used it last night. Great for speed but not so great for leverage on tight fasteners.

My HD finally dropped the prices on their outgoing Irwins. I own a bunch more Irwin clamps now.
