Yeah thats a pretty old set, although I do think Ive seen a few in the stores around me. At one time it came with a "bonus" 1/4" hex to 3/8" socket adapter, but those are really old kits as well.

Geezus, Im on my way to depot now.. I love my shockwave sets and I need another one for my tool bag. At $5 thats an incredible deal.

They must've sold enough 'bag-o-bits' sets in the last few years so that every man, woman, and child on earth can have one... and still they flood the tool isles with them. 100 piece, 150 piece... ugh, ok.

Just found 2 of $5 bit sets at my store, got them both. They were really hard to find though, finally found them on little hooks next to the M18 end cap. I agree there are at least 5 (maybe 7?) variations of just Milwaukee bit sets in my store right now, ranging from 17 to 160? pcs.

In the clearance section there was also a huge box of 21pc Dewalt bit sets, there were a few drill bits in it, one nutdriver, and whatever else. $8 ea but I don't buy DeWalt and I didn't get a pic.

I've been buying nothing but Milwaukee as of late, and wanted to love the Shockwave, but they just weren't lasting very long with every day trade usage. The DeWalt do.

Which Dewalt ones are better for impact? They have so many names that all sound alike I can't keep track.

short answer is dewalts in a black case with black colored bits. I think they're called impact ready.

Thanks for the heads up on the Shockwave bits! I found 1 at 2 different home depot's on my way home. 1 was hiding behind the 35 piece set in the middle of an aisle and the other was covered in dust on the Milwaukee end cap. Got 1 for me and 1 for my brother.

Sweet! I think I'll pick up that Shockwave drill set. I've been wanting quick change drill bits for quite a while. I think I already have a quick change bit for my drill.

Personally not a fan of hex drill bits...Ive never had any stay true, they always end up wobbly.

With the whole 150 off promo I picked up the M12 Fuel hammer drill, so I can use regular drill bits (I also have the 99.00 promo with the non-Fuel 3/8" drill I can use them in too)

Guys, found this 44 pc Dewalt MaxFit Driver Set DWA2SLS44HD that was down to $11 marked in store. Rang it up and came up to $3 in my store! I got a couple for gifts. Online it shows $11 now but check instore and you might get lucky. Others have apparently also got these this cheap. May be closing out this set on clearance. Only one like this I could find. - Paul

Combined with the 150 off promo, after returning the Dewalt kit that triggered the promo the m12 fuel hammerdrill came out to about 118+tax after 10% first purchase with home depot card discount.

Same process lowered the impact driver kit down to 98.

For years I had my Ridgid tools flopping around in the contractor bag that the kit came in. As I added tools, that bag just became more of a pile of stuff.

Ive seen a lot of tools fit into that Milwaukee box so I was thinking of doing the same.

The box is nice, picked it up the other day. Has slots on the four corners to hold M18 or 12 tools securely. Leaves lots of space in the middle for other tools and batteries. You can also mount a charger on the underside of the lid, so you always have one handy and just have to open the box and plug it in. Seems like a great setup.

It looks like a well thought out design for a toolbox to carry or store all your rechargeable tools. One of the best features is stated in the description; "A Lockable Lid with Integrated Weather Seal Gasket keeps your tools safe, secure and dry."

This box is still $40 locally though.

Almost pulled the trigger this morning, regardless of if it was 29.97 or not.

But I just cant get over the cheap feeling and looking locking tabs.

The Ridgid boxes have nice metal catches but the Milwaukee box does not. For the same price, Im thinking the Ridgid is the better deal in regards to quality, but then you lose out on all of the slots, charger mounting, etc.

Decisions!

Honestly ...the convenient slots and mount would cinch it for me.

Those latches even in metal are only gonna gonna be as good as the plastic that they are holding together ...the plastix is still the weak link.

IMHO they didn't gain much my making them of metal.

Thanks! I might pick one up and try to put my M12 and M18 stuffs in it. If it fits decently I might return the Ridgid one I have (I have the "short" Ridgid one for just M12 stuff right now)

I think the mounting points could come in real handy....Id be interested to see if I can make some sort of battery storage "rack", since I have so many M12 and M18 batteries now. It would make the box heavy with them all in there though.

Or use the Milwaukee box for M18 and the Ridgid box for M12. But I dont like how the M12 stuff ended up in the Ridgid box, I basically just stacked them on top of each other (the goal was some of that cuttable foam, but havent gotten that far yet)

ANYTHING will be better than the stupid kit bags that Ive used for years. At least it will force me to organize enough to close the boxes instead of leaving everything as an overflowing mess.

I filled mine up w/ about 10 tools and 8 batteries, and then decided that it wasn't for me. I like packing boxes tight which means packing them pretty full, but packing this box near it's limit makes it weigh somewhere north of 60 lbs.

Oh, and getting to the larger tools means unpacking the entire box to reach one tool.

I'm going for several smaller boxes now, but haven't committed to anything yet. Maybe some DeWalt Toughboxes?

Yeah, when I loaded up that Ridgid box with my M12 tools (the 3 battery kit from BF, Fuel impact driver, Fuel hammer drill) it got REAL heavy. The box even when empty is pretty heavy, and thats the SMALL Ridgid.

I can only imagine the M18 versions of that stuff in one box.....

It's a bit dusty, but I saved $10.

I told her that a friend had just sent me that picture but I wasn't certain which store he was at. At first she said it must be a "special buy" just for that store so then I zoomed in on the price tag and she said "I guess not". Done!

Any feedback on the cheapo set of 4 pneumatic nail guns that were $49 ??

Think they were HDX brand that's not carried all year . . . just at Xmas.

They any good if any more left at HD at clearance price??
