it is 99.9% luck

there is no easy way to find any great deal at any store

I'm lucky, my store has one isle with just penny items on it, I need to get by there more

Earlier today.

There are ten blades there.

Then I went to a store tonight that I hadn't been at in a while. Walked in, went straight to the manager and asked if he had any penny items for me. He says "I was hoping you would come, haven't seen you in a while. Matter of fact we pulled it all for you the other day, we have two flat carts of stuff, enjoy!"

I have two area stores that park carts by pro area and give it away. The Donkey operator will not give anything away.

Pretty sure someone thought I was doing something suspicious. Every time I walked past someone they would get on the radio after I was out of hearing range. When I was walking out a guy was describing someone with a black jacket and khaki pants and then he turns around to see me and it looked like he had just seen a ghost. I didn't find any deals today fwiw, this store seems to run a tight a ship.

Great buy! Reminds me when I had 2 shopping cars full of DAP SmartBond Subfloor Construction Adhesive & METHOD Laundry soap & fabric softener all for $1.00. Manager special. lol

how do u get the manager to save 1 cent deals for you? how the hell does that work.

You guys are way to gullible... I didn't actually get any of that stuff, just came across the carts outside in lawn and garden. Looking back I should have picked up a few of the roundup gallons but I don't really have a use for any of the other stuff.

Krazy Glue's website specifically says acetone will do it. But some plastics "melt" w acetone (although I'd hope anything that holds up to gasoline wouldn't) so test first on an unimportant area. Wipe it somewhere and see if the plastic smears or clouds.

:( I think you might have given 77Ford an aneurysm trying to scope out the same deal.

LOL! Early Aprils Fools Day post..... At least the weather in NJ is April temps in Mid December! I saw a snake in my yard this afternoon.
Just wondering how many guys went to Home Cheapo and "talked" to the manager about saving the penny deals for them..... Probably nobody will admit to doing this.

Got some pennies today from a few stores. First truck load the manager said no and wouldn't sell. Said the policy was for them to return to vender. I called corporate and they spoke to him and they sold it as a one time deal. Corporate told me when I asked about the policy that the items are supposed to be pulled and not really for sale so technically they DO NOT have to sell it. Manager was not happy to sell it to me but I got my stuff and rolled out for 43 cents. Next store picked up some Scott's insect /ant killer that was pulled with a bunch of vigoro starter fertilizer and about 80 bottles of animal be gone. I took the Scott's to self check out and scanned it all and paid for it before they said anything. Came back to the store and tried to get the fertilizer but once the cashier scanned them to try to help he saw it was a penny and the head cashier said they can't sell it and have to return it. I didn't feel like arguing since it's my main home depot and I already have about 40 bags of the fertilizer anyways. Moral of the story, go to self checkout (preferably when it's busy) scan quick and pay quick then roll out. Some employees don't care about penny items and some do. Today's total was over 600 bucks in stuff for 63 cents. Get those deals while they are out there. Every home depot I have went to I have found at least a few penny items.

Looks like a lot of hassle for a bunch of crapola.

Yeah took about 15 mins total with the phone call. Normally I would say screw it and just leave but the manager was a **** so I thought I would return the favor. Luckily all the stuff I buy I can use, give to family and friends, or donate for the most part.

I would assume the pricing scheme would be the same. Not sure if the items are the same though.

Local store shows at least 1 of a bunch of Husky garage cabinetry at .03 but I have no idea where it all is. I didn't really look for it. They also show a bunch of the Husky track wall and accessories at .03 as well that I didn't really look for.

I should ask an assistant and locate the stuff, but I didn't have time.

Tried to buy a 3D printer 2 days ago which I thought may have dropped into to a penny (BOD was 5/27/15). The kiosks were all busy and the box was up high, so I wasn't able to price check and had to ask an associate to bring it down. He was kind of surprised when I pointed out the box I wanted and said "we usually just keep empty boxes up here." Well, he brought it down, but he said he had to take it up front and couldn't just give it to me. Didn't end up buying it as the price wasn't any lower than what the tag showed, which was still too high for this particular printer.

Is this common when dealing with expensive items at Home Depot?

Got the Ashfield bathroom faucet, SKU# 683275, for free. They had the matching shower and bath faucet, but it wouldn't ring up, so they wanted $150 for it on a generic SKU. I'll add a pic later since Tapatalk changed their app to not allow uploads without an account with them. If anyone finds the matching shower and tub set for a penny, let me know and I'll gladly pay for you to ship it to me.

Surprised those faucets are still kicking around. Those went penny months ago.

Oh, I know. I was surprised to see it sitting there. It was in an employees hiding spot I believe - behind irrigation products at the end of an aisle at the back of the store. I was really hoping for them both to be $.01, but the shower/tub faucet just came up not found and "Wait for Attendant." The faucet has been used, and is missing the owner's manual, but from what I can tell, everything else is there. Oh well. Can't beat free.

This is where I found it -

Here's the UPC for the Ashfield Shower and Tub faucet -

And full frontal of the faucet box -

Did the shower/tub have a generic SKU tag on it, or did they just look it up online and try and sell it to you for the online price under the plumbing SKU?

You might try going when a different manager is there. I have had some just give me items that come up as "not found".

There was no SKU on the box at all. At the register the attendant looked it up online, and tried to sell it to me for that price under a generic SKU per the manager's instructions. When it popped up on my register with GENERIC SKU - $150.00, I said no thanks, but I'll take the faucet for the penny. Attendant just said to take it, no charge. Even went back in to offer $50 for the shower/tub set since I know they used a generic SKU, but the manager wouldn't do it. I may try to find it again at another time, but I doubt they'll put it somewhere that I'll be able to find it again. Although this is the same store that STILL has the penny grill on a pallet above the wheelbarrows outside from 4 months ago that was "to be donated." I haven't tried for it again yet.
