If you are able to buy an item online (regular price) that has a clearance price in your local store - would a return/rebuy work once it arrived

IME the returned/cancelled online item shipped-to-store did not go back to the store as inventory and was shipped back. Returning/cancelling the unwanted item at the store was very simple because the item never left the store (no pavers) and the transaction was super smooth for all parties.

I went to the Livonia store last night and they were fresh out of the DWS782. Had the clerk check his handheld stock unit and it showed none in the entire detroit metro area, fyi.

Thanks for the info..

By saying the transaction was smooth - you're saying I would be able to return/rebuy for clearance price?

That's really the only thing I need to know. I know they'd have to take the item back - and as you said, that would be especially easy if I shipped to the store.

Went out in search of the table saw, five stores later no luck. I did however snag the last miter saw at the only store I found one in. Anyone near Jacksonville FL manage to get the table saw and want to trade? [emoji16]

Had an awesome score tonight. Already got my miter saw priced matched yesterday but decided to hit up a few stores around my area and it paid off. The baytown TX store showed 2 DW745 table saws in their system which I called them twice and asked about. I told them they would be in top stock and not on the shelf. They said they looked and there were none there. Not trusting them I drove down and what do you know, 2 table saws wrapped up in a pallet. Needless to say I picked them up ASAP. Then I went to another home depot to pick up some Ryobi miter saw stands for 15 bucks because they were the only store that had some left. Grabbed 2 and by luck saw a DWS782 on the floor in a regular spot marked 399. I picked that bad boy up quick for a gift/resell. Between the rotary tools yeseterday for 25 bucks and some other **** it was an awesome couple days. Like it has been said before DO NOT TRUST ANYONE GET OUT THERE AND LOOK FOR YOURSELF. Good luck peeps. And for people wondering I have been to the baytown, pasadena, league city and seabrook home depots.

Pretty obvious...

The score!!

Cat78, how much was that $399 dws782?

I was not fortunate enough to get this deal. Wizness is the one you meant to direct the question to. I also am curious as well though. I will be at my HD tomorrow afternoon looking for the stand and the table saw

I have to go check a few random stores this weekend

Same here...though I wonder how many resellers lurk in this forum to ****** all the great deals. I never seem to find many of the "big ticket" items posted here. Anyway, my search will begin around 0600 tomorrow. I'll share pics if anything of note is found.

Finally found the miter saw...It was all the way in Cleveland and I'm in North East Tn haha. Luckily my girlfriends family lives in Cleveland and picked it up for me! Absolutely no table saw ANYWHERE though...

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys for bringing these deals up! even if all I snag is the saw it's more than worth it!

Last night I was able to get the Ryobi miter saw stand for $15 and the Dremel SM20 for $33. I'll go hunting this weekend to find the Multi Max for $20 and see if I can find the DeWalt Miter saw. (I'm in CT)

I was able to get a price reduction on 4 rotary tools I've bought over the past month. *I bought all of them with one of the Dewalt kits during the $150 off promo. First store wouldn't do it is a clearance item. When I went to the second store, the returns cashier was in a terrible mood. First manager was very suspicious because of the $150 off. After I tried explaining to him that I wanted to return the items for what I actually paid for them (not the full price), and simply repurchase them at the current sale price, he called another young manager over. It took 2 seconds for him to get what was going on and say there was no issue at all. $75 back in my pocket! :rocker:

Went to one of the stores on my way home last night looking for the 745 table saw. Computer says they have three in stock, was there for over 30 minutes with the guy looking for them but nowhere to be found. I did ask about checking the overhead bin because I could see several DeWalt boxes up there but he said he looked from the other side and none of them were it. Full of **** or really did climb up there I don't know. Could be hiding them for employees once they get paid. I may stop by again tonight just to see what they say.

Just to update.

Went back by last night and stock says zero but the guy I talked to said someone came in on Wednesday and bought two of them, a day after I was in. I said that's kind of messed up that you "found" and sold them after I was here and told you didn't have any so I asked if there was anything they could do for me.

Manager came and I said I don't expect you to give me a $300 saw for the discounted price so she offered 50% on the one they did have in stock. Said to have them call her when I went to check out since she would have to authorize it.

Went to the tool department and waited for someone to help me which ended up being the guy from the other night who "looked" for the discounted saw. He and another worker got the saw down and I went to look at a couple of other things.

Went to check out and at first the woman there was kind of hesitant about calling but I convinced her along with one of her co-workers. Manager showed up, looked at the price and said "I thought you said it was a $300 saw" I thought oh **** there goes my 50%. I said sorry I should have said it is a 300-something saw. She said "well, I am only authorized to go up to $150". I said I'll take it.

$379 saw for $246 out the door! :rocker:

If anybody lives near a home depot with the ridgid or the ryobi batteries and wants to be a middleman, I'd be willing to compensate you and pay shipping.
