these are on clearance for 39.00 in my local stores. not enough for me to bite, but im keeping an eye on them.

also the all black full depth 5 drawer tops were normally priced at 99, now they have them listed on clearance for 89.00 with a "was 119.00" beside it, lol

Any luck finding the 4-drawer cabinets in Pcola?

I have one of my relatives coming in town from there today and he just went out to go see if he could find any.

If you already checked I can call off the search lol.

Online searching will not reveal true inventory for any of these clearance items. Only way to search clearance inventory:

1. Use the in-store computer terminal "price check" feature.

or

2. Visually search the rafters.

I suggest doing both.

Two of these items I just spotted up in the rafters Burbank CA location. In-store computer terminal indicates discounted price, but allegedly 0 in stock. Obviously they have multiples in stock though!

Debating on the 26" chest. Can get 2 of them but they are 40.03 and he said he cannot match any lower price.

Damn I just noticed that! I did not check when I was in the store, but I would bet that it is the clearance saw too since my stores always have good stuff in the rafters.

Model number printing looks to be 780, which is unfortunately not the one on clearance.

My local store in Roseville, MI #2707 had an few AmFlo hose reel left. It rang up as $.01 at the self check out but the cashier caught it and called someone from the tool department. He said that they don't sell things for $.01 so they wouldn't sell it to me.

Don't they have sell it to you? You should have asked to see the manager

Unless you really need the intermediate box I would wait for another price drop. The 5-drawer full depth top chest was a BF special for $74 shipped but moved back up to $99 at Xmas. This is one Husky top chest I can easily recommend for light-medium use on a work bench or HF 44. Good deal at $99 much better if it drops more.

I picked 2 of the bottoms up. Around 85$ out the door. They would not honor any other discounts or price matches

So let me see if I've got this straight. I went into HD today and inquired about the .01 clearance items. The Salesguy stated that they never sell any of those items for .01, they all get thrown away when they get down that low. I then asked what items he had on clearance, and he stated that they never know, until an item is rung up or the price is checked. How do they run a store if the prices can be a surprise? Seems like a poor business model to me!

I got on the in-store computer at my local HD. It showed they had 1 of the SKU 356231.
Nobody could find it though. I left empty handed.

I picked up 2 of them to put on my 56 inch bottom at 74. They are decent for the money. Better deal than similar brands. I really needed the full depth. One bottom drawer is loadedd with all my extensions. Feels like its overloaded. I have a ton. 50# rated, whatever it weighs id say its too much even at 30#. Slides smooth, but you can tell.

Spent all morning driving around MA and NH trying to get someone to reduce the price on my Makita batteries, but no joy. However, did luck out and stumble upon another Makita BTW450z impact in clearance with no tag on it, and ended up getting it for free (I guess it fell out of their system) :)

Wow. Too bad by CR-V uses 5W-20.
I've used 5-30 in our Acura that specs 5-20. Maybe lost a bit of mpg but nothing other than that

Note the clearance sticker shows the price for 5-30. Two of my vehicles use 5-30 so I'm going to check my local stores asap.

Out of curiosity, what is to stop the salesguys from "rescuing" the tools that are to be thrown away, and having their own "sale", maybe like this? http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/tls/4930756549.html

Unlikely that that is the case in the listing you linked. That is most likely someone who purchases pallets from the auctions that HD sends a lot of their clearance stuff to. I have a coworker who just got a part time job at HD for "fun" on weekends, and he was telling me about some of their training and how their weird policies about having to throw away perfectly good inventory. I doubt an employee would last long keeping inventory that is supposed to be destroyed.

Found a few items on clearance that might be on the markdown trail in your region...maybe sooner than later

Husky Double Hook 251038 9.97>2.53
Husky Large Cap Hook 252516 11.47>2.93
Husky S hook 248541 5.47>1.43
Husky Trackwall screw 431328 4.98>1.33
Husky Trackwall 238226 9.97>2.53
Husky ventilated wire shelf 266913 5.97>1.53

Note: IME the Husky hooks fit the Gladiator tracks, in fact better, tighter and more secure than on the Husky wall track it was designed for.

Think this HUSKY ventilated wire shelf might make a decent wrench or plier rack?f02a087c-b1f3-4556-844c-94eceddecc7e_400.jpg

You never know , here in Chicagoland, anything could happen. It is even rumored that the dead rise from their graves to vote at election time!

LOL, was one of the boxes open on one end and the other one taped shut with clear tape?

I put those two back and grabbed the unopen box behind them at that store yesterday!

Is it coated or stainless? I think if you cut it in half long ways it would work out nicely. If it's stainless I may replace the one I made out of a white closet shelf.

How can I go about finding a lower price if I purchased them from the only store that had any left around.

Go to customer service at the other store and ask for price adjustment. Might want to scan to make sure its NOT a penny before LOSING the item, LOL....

What he said.

Also the coated ones kind of fray where you make the cut, I used an angle grinder it may come out better using a saw of some sort.

Both of my local stores said it is a penny in their system. Will try one more store down near my mothers house. I am happy with the price but who wouldn't want more money off. Thank you for the tips everyone

If you know the sku, you can enter it in the "price check" feature in the in-store computer. It will show that store's price even if they have 0 in stock.
