In the past couple of days a couple of tool box items have hit $**.03 status! NOTE: $**.03 items do not drop to penny status. Rather, after awhile they just get marked “RTV” (return to vendor). Only $**.02 items will drop to penny status after a few weeks.

Most HD stores have the Tool Cabinet (with wheels) ringing up at $30.03., even when the shelf price still indicates $90.06. So don’t get fooled by the shelf tag. Use the in-store computer terminal or the self-checkout line to confirm real price at your store. AND DON’T FORGET TO LOOK UP IN THE RAFTERS. One store I know had ZERO tool boxes on the floor. None whatsoever. But their in-store computer said they had 26 units in stock! In the rafters there were multiple pallets of them still wrapped in cellophane! Remember, you want SKU 794770 which is the clearance box. There is an almost identical box with a longer SKU which is still full price.

Same goes for the top tool chest. Many stores have it either listed at $60.06 or even at full price. But the real price is $20.03

Husky 27 Inch 4-Drawer Tool Cabinet
SKU: 794770
Price: $30.03
For reference:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-26-in-4-Drawer-Tool-Cabinet-Black-2633BKCA4THD/203270273

Husky 26 Inch 4-Drawer Tool Chest
SKU: 794768
Price 20.03
For reference:

Another tip: if your store insists on selling at the higher $**.06 price, you have three options:

1.
Just buy it at that price and do a return/rebuy when your store finally marks it down to the $**.03 price.

2.
Or, you can take your receipt to a different HD that already has the item at $**.03 price in their computer system and do a return/rebuy there. It works even if the second HD store no longer has the item in stock.

3.
Finally, you can try to get a price match by showing the receipt scans I have posted for you.

thanks for your effort....but by posting on slickdeals the deals is not a good move...
Also you effectively killed all the good deals or toolbox items that members here can get or use... slickdeals and other sites are just places where some people go to buy to clear out store stock and resell...wherever... most of them don't even use them....I saw young slickdeals guys looking at stores with their moms....and calling it saying...there is supposed to be a cabinet thing for clearance..

The way I see it, I am happy to alert people of deals no matter who they are, young, old, whatever. Yeah I know there are tons of ebay re-sellers on Slick Deals. But there's a bunch of them on this forum as well...they just lurk and never post. And i did not steal that that deal from here. I found it on my own.

If someone could check stock around 06825 I'd appreciate it. I'll try to get to HD this week to look for myself too. Or if someone can get one I'll send paypal and a prepaid shipping label...

How did you know HomeDepotRob was posting these deals on SD? (Just curious)

Not really cool dude.... SD is FULL of resellers and people who have no idea what they are buying. I don't believe many over there actually use the things they purchase, so it ***** when people here can actually use it, but it's sold out due to SD resellers buying out store inventory.

The airline highway store has 3 or four left as of last night.
I can't see driving all the way over there for a $20 vacuum. If I were going that way then sure, but... Regardless, I appreciate the heads up in case I was headed that way.

I have checked all over for that vacuum and no joy! Oh well, some things may not be meant to be. :(

Just looked for the Husky cart and Dremel 8100. North Haven, CT had a Dremel but it was just the tool, no battery, no accessories, nothing. No cart either. Also checked Hamden, CT and didn't find anything.

Fyi: noticed in-store inventory check was NOT reliable in at least two local stores that physically had them tucked away on shelves like lost goods. Too bad shipping hurts the deal for you especially since I think you got some Ridgid 18V power tools

Of course these were all full price at my store. I still grabbed a couple of things, so hopefully they go down in the next 90 days.

That sounds like a good 90 day strategy with the way clearances are currently run at HD. Just when you think you got a deal it hooks you back into the store again.

You are right....homedepotrob... I saw pablo94sc post pic/price of that toolbox which was dated before your post on SD...so made assumption...But looked closely at your receipt and it shows earlier date then Pablo94sc's post.....so yes,,, you were right...So I am SORRY to rush to judgement....I hope you accept my apology. I will edit my post...

But...the posting of it on SD was a virtual guarantee that it was going to be out of stock nationwide within 1-2 days.... and they end up on ebay or craiglist to be $$$ maker,,,,rather then individual needs....But since you found the deal....then you are free to post wherever you like....

I hope this doesn't turn down your helpful post here on the forum....as I have benefited from your pics, item numbers and receipt post....so THANKS and keep posting...

well I looked over at SD site and saw the post..Then I noticed the big avatar face and it seemed the same as homedepotrob...Then I looked at the post details, pics and sure enough it was same... BTW...that post on SD has about 40k views....can you say...deal gone..

I really appreciate HDrob's post and has helped me and probably others too....so his contribution to this forum is great asset....just posting on SD is a big downer...

I never trust inventory counts in store or online, I always walk the store looking around. That's where the penny deals are hiding. :D

Thanks for the info though, always learning. And yup, I do own 18V Ridgid.

Husky Shop stool looks to be back in stock online, not the amazing $9 people were finding them in store, but $18 shipped to store is a steal compared to other shop stools..

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbrande...l-Seat-1656/204797832?quantity=1&str_nbr=3517

Yea they a nice stools, I bought two of them with the 10 off coupon code I posted months ago got each for 9 bucks. I cut off 6 inches to make them more comfortable for me. Not much padding but the are sturdy.

The 52 inch with the gimicky plastic fronts is $225 around here.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-52...ork-Center-with-LED-in-Black-HTBX10/205344413

Store SKU: 1000044933

I saw one of them on display a couple days ago. My store also had it listed at $225. The store associate said they weren't moving at this price and they would probably be reduced further. When I pulled out the drawers I noticed large sections of powder coat/paint missing. I question how long this box would last even for home use.

Don't forget that it also has gimmicky LED lights!:lol::lol:

Yeah, I want one of those vacs pretty bad but I think that shipping is going to kill any deal on it. How big is the thing/box? I could send you a call tag for it, but I'm really afraid I'd spend $20-30 on shipping a $20 item. :dunno:

You ever make it to the Northshore?

If they still have some I can pick one up and you can meet me next time you are in town.

I have been trying to find a Ridgid Roofing cutter. In-store computer says item not found. Online it says "online only" but also says "aisle 15". Any clue why it would say that? I couldn't find any in store. Could it be that they have some hidden?

They did have them at my local store in Kannapolis NC. I saw them in person in the clearance section. This was a few weeks ago when they were $25 if I remember correctly.

Asile 15 is where the item was located, it is now discontinued so I doubt they are going to waste their time updating the items location.

At this point it is probably at the penny mark so you would just have to search everywhere behind everything and hope to find one that has been forgotten about.

Found something at my local store today on clearance for ??.06 I looked at the price tag and the date was 10/14. Would this item ring up .01? The self checkout was heavily guarded by an employee that was not busy or I would have taken it over there and checked it.

That is when you type in the sku on the price check app. Try it with and without the number 1000 in front of the 6 digit sku. If neither is found, it is probably 1 cent.

Haven't heard of the price check app. Tell me more please. thanks!

You have to find an open terminal in the store. Click on the Windows icon in the lower left and select 'Store PC Menu'. Then choose the link that says 'Price Check'. There you type in the sku, Try it with and without the 10000 prefix. Sometimes the UPC works here too. When the item is found it displays a picture of the item. Click on the picture to get inventory at the store and at other local stores.

The Price Check app is available on the in-store computers. Most HD stores allow customers to use the computers to access HD.com and/or check prices.

To answer your original question, if the price is currently $**.06 then it should drop to $yy.03 in a few weeks, and then approx. 3 weeks later will drop to $0.01. The employees are supposed to pull it before it reaches $0.01 if it hasn't been sold by then.

Ridgid diamond blades are on clearance here, 12 and 14 inch. Anyone know if the 12 inch fits in a miter saw? Been on clearance for a while but the price doesn't seem to be dropping. Sku for 12" is 137377 rings up at $59 I think. Didn't both checking the 14" since I have no use for it.

These just dropped to 20.03 for the 12". Too bad I don't have a use for them or I would buy them. The 14" diamond blades also dropped to .03 but I forget how much.
