FWIW -

Ended up deciding to grab the M18 Milwaukee vac at HD.

Rang it up at self checkout - ended up being $76. I was prepared to pay $100.

Looked online and seems to be $100 most places, if not everywhere.

Was a nice surprise. Sweetened it with 5% off with Lowe's discount - ~$73 out the door.

Only thing I really need is that Milwaukee 3/8 m18 fuel impact. Got the m12 fuel 1/4 hex with the free 3/8 ratchet the other day and like them. But really want to find a super deal on the impact. Dont have any other cordless tools so would need a whole kit.

Links show up full price or just discontinued for me. Were you able to buy any of these, or is it in-store only?

^^ ^ These are all in-store only.

YMMV . . . it's like finding a unicorn . . . . possible but unlikely . . .
. . . . Much like finding a virgin running around with Snooky on Jersey Shore !! :D

I was wondering how a clearance item could be the same price for so long. My HD has the Makita 36v circular saw priced the same for a really long time. The date on the sticker when they started to clearance it was like 12/09/14. The price only went down to $207 from $219. I even had a guy scan it to see if the real price was lower by now but nope nothing has changed. I was just wondering why that tool didn't get cheap like other Black Friday tools?

It is going for $199 or $190 in one of the Baton Rouge stores, it too is an item I have been keeping an eye on.

My only guess is that due to not being a promotional item, like black Friday tools, it is on a different clearance schedule than BF items.

Penny deals will only show up on the in-store computers at HD. Check out the image I posted above for an example. And VERY rarely the penny deals are also printed on yellow tags, but again, that is very rare. HD employees are supposed to pull all items that hit penny status, but of course, no one is perfect. Some HD locations pull penny items quickly. Some do not. And it also depends on a particular department. For example, in the same store the plumbing dept might pull penny items quickly, while the tools dept does not.

Picked up the 27" Husky intermediate 2 drawer chest for $40 today. Originally $50. Was in my local Home Depot tool clearance section. Not a super deal but it will be good for the service truck.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting the water filtration thing back on page 69. My dad has been wanting one of these, but money was a factor. I sent him this after you posted it and he found one in store today. He said it was tagged full price but when he price checked it came up the $25.**.

Thanks!

Picked one of these up yesterday. Like you said, not a screaming deal, but I needed to expand my Craftsman 27" chest, and this was a good way to do it.

Abercorn St location in Savannah has Milwaukee 13" Job site boxes for $19--the Victory Drive location still has them at $25. I picked up two more...I like the one I bought a couple of months ago.

Last I saw was $19 but that was last week when supplies were available in some stores even though in-store accurate inventory=0

Ok, my store still had the price listed at $49, but I didn't have time to take it to the register. Maybe I'll go back tonight.

At noon 3-22 Sunday I saw a Dewalt top chest for $125 at Houston TX store at Beltway 8 and I-10 (Lumpkin Rd). It was at the front of the store near the registers.

I also saw the bottom part of the dewalt toolbox...its still same price...$225..
from what I read...they sold the top and bottom for $350...
and the price is still same today...and looks like it won't drop soon... It has been this price for a while... I wonder when its going to be dropping like other HD clearance items..

$350 was the best price for the set with out any other discounts. I believe they started out at $600 then dropped to $500 at or around Black Friday. Seen a couple 2 weeks ago in Grand Rapids, Michigan. $200 for the top and $300 for the bottom. Nice to know they are still a few floating around.

Disappointed to find Home Depot Canada does not use the same pricing scheme! Did pickup a couple of M12 charger/battery sets for 25$ each. They had the M18 compact battery 2 pack for 85$. Got an M18 Fuel sawzal for 150$, M18 impact driver with 2 compact batteries and chargers for 120$. Just wandered around looking for yellow tags.

The M18 Fuel Sawzall for 150 was a pretty sweet deal. I look around for the yellow tags but the deals are never great the majority of the time.

Yeah that is a good deal.

I was able to match it but only by using the 150 off promo a couple months ago.

Funny thing is of all the red tools I bought during that promo, I think the best was the one I ordered last minute: m12 fuel hackzall. Great form factor, used or a bunch yesterday.

As much fun as that 150 promo was I'm kinda glad its over (sudden tool overload) then the rapid price adjustment chase afterwards (.06>.03>.01)...honestly I was exhausted. Sold off the excess batteries and free non-fuel stuff but the M12 chargers are almost not worth selling except at a garage sale.
