I called the closest store and they said they didn't have any, but they said another store in the district had 5. Went there and they were showing $448. They wouldn't match the $117 even though the original store I called said it was $117. Bought 2 (one for myself and a coworker) and hopefully we can get them to price match at the original store I called.

Well, buy them at full price and then return them to the store where they sell for $117. Go in the next morning and buy them for $117 a piece.

Nah, that makes too much sense. What I'd really like is to have every single deal posted separately and then every single reply to that deal posted separately also. But hey, what do I know? Besides the fact that I got 3 DeWalt contractor table saws for $75...

This doesn't work though...

just saying - the point of each forum is to help people weed through individual topics, and then pick the ones you want to click on so YOU decide what chatter you want to read and/or engage in. this thing can have 10 different ones going on at once, and PAGES of people leaving comments from how "their store didnt have any" to "boy i wish i found that", personally i dont want to have to go through 3 pages a nonsense to get to ONE post i wanna see. but what do i know- its only the way every other forum on here, and every other forum website is run. but i must be wrong - cause you got 3 table saws to show for it that you wouldnt have found in its own thread. its a miracle how everyone else has managed.. tell ya what - lets eliminte every other forum and just have everyone post everything on one single thread.. that should make things easier for YOU - :lol_hitti

anything i find will be in its own thread - so itll be around for a few weeks, and then get filtered out. this way, anything posted in that thread only pertains to that item - instead of a dozen different ones. its not like amazon where these deals only last 3 hours, so there no point to going back 10 pages - this is dumb..

Interesting thinking. Will that work?

Always worked for me. If you drop off just before closing, the night shift puts it back on the floor for resale. Get there early.

I was able to score a unicorn deal....a husky 40" toolbox....sku 720-161...its a 2 piece unit..bottom unit and top unit...Last I read about it was that it was a black friday sale for $199 or something?...
anyway...I saw the bottom unit up on rafter...but they only had the bottom unit...got the sku number and it came up a penny deal..

I thought for sure, was going to be impossible to score this out of the store...but never know till I try... so I had a very helpful guy who didn;t look up the number in his computer and brought it down with a fork lift.. I took it up to register...rang up as penny deal...stupid smart cashier calls supervisor, she in turn saids...can't sell because its not complete..that its 1 of 2 carton.....and they can;t sell for a penny... I said...don;t care that I will buy it... She then phones Manager who tells her sell for $50... I said no state law regulation saids you have to sell for whatever your register rings up at...its the state law....At this point, its a stand off...neither backing down... So I cut to chase and say I will pay $25... to which she agrees.... and they ring it up as a clearance item number....not the original sku number of the box.... I guess they just did'nt want to sell for penny in their computer records..

upon inspection there is a dent in the unit...but not bad and for $25 I can live with it...

But bigger score was how I landed the matching top chest unit for FREE...at a different store...they only had the top unit...no bottom unit....
same as first store...I see the top chest box...box 2 of 2... so I ask guy to bring it down...Damn guy looks it up in his HD ipad thing... he saids oh oh...I have to talk to manager... I thought for sure...no deal..
he comes back and saids to me..do you have something to take it today... I said yes... He saids...manager told him give it to customer for free.. He tells me they normally don;t do this but manager must have been in good mood.
Got the box down and it was brand new perfect,..no dent or anything..

so yes, look up in rafters...they are up there...but its a unicorn deal..
I love this Home depot clearance shopping....just WOW..what a feeling

I agree with kctyphoon. Home Depot (and lowes) sell a variety of stuff and putting it all under one title makes for a ****** read. Some of this stuff they could be giving away and I wouldn't see the hot deal in it. Just makes more sense to me to put up a specific deal and then when the deal dies the thread dies. So if it's half price caulk this week and your not interested you won't have to read about somebody's gloat of cleaning out 3 stores or someone else's sadness that their store had none.

just saying - the point of each forum is to help people weed through individual topics, and then pick the ones you want to click on so YOU decide what chatter you want to read and/or engage in. this thing can have 10 different ones going on at once, and PAGES of people leaving comments from how "their store didnt have any" to "boy i wish i found that", personally i dont want to have to go through 3 pages a nonsense to get to ONE post i wanna see. but what do i know- its only the way every other forum on here, and every other forum website is run. but i must be wrong - cause you got 3 table saws to show for it that you wouldnt have found in its own thread. its a miracle how everyone else has managed.. tell ya what - lets eliminte every other forum and just have everyone post everything on one single thread.. that should make things easier for YOU -

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

For some reason, I am not seeing the quote option so apologies for quoting the old-fashioned way.

You think it's bad now? There used to be ONE THREAD here for ALL DEALS. And if some had their way we would still have that. It was a fight just to convince folks that a dedicated forum with different threads would be much better - and it is. Except when people use a thread as a running deal thing, which is worst for the Lowes and Home Depot threads but applies to others as well.

The reasons for creating the separate forum are just what you said -- too much litter of "darn, my store doesn't have it" or general gnashing of teeth because you saw the deal too late. I don't mind the extra discussion but if I have no interest in that particular deal then I really don't care to see all that extra noise. And I am forced to scroll through it on the chance there might be a new deal posted in there.

And yes, before any ********* tell me I can just scroll through them I don't want to waste my time. Once I don't care about a deal I don't care about any facet of the deal.

Hmm I just turned off AdBlock for this page (Firefox) and now I see the Quote button again.

Welcome to the Thread :)

Oh no more junk to scroll down, I personally Check Hot Deals every day.....I've gotten plenty of stuff from both the Home Depot and Lowe's thread. I personally like all the extra discussion, it would be boring with out it...

This is the way to do it ; the bonus is, if you don't read too far back you don't get all pissed off about all the crazy deals you didn't get!

Works well for me.

HD in Urbandale, IA had a couple Dewalt 30ft tape measures marked down from $30 to $8 . They were pretty nice. I would have bought one, if I didn't already have 5 tape measures.

There's a taped up Fein Multi tool box at my HD on the clearance rack for $120. I have a Ryobi cordless multi already and I'm just a DIY guy (light -medium duty). Trying to decide if I should get it.
The reviews make it pretty tempting.

Welcome! Most of the HD deals posted here usually have a decent chance of availability to GJ readers but one taped box in a local HD is not truly deal posting worthy. The taped up box you found may indicate: return / used / missing parts / unknown. Good price if it works for you.

If you think all the "extra discussion" keeps it from being boring, you have way too much time on your hands to read through stuff that doesn't matter nor concern you. If there were separate threads for each deal, then if you want to read all the other **** for whatever reason you could. With one thread you have no choice but to see it and scroll past it. And I think that *****.

you guys must be right - funny though.. i posted ONE thread about a milwaukee tool set going on sale in HD - and in two days (almost 2000 views ) that single deal has drawn about half as many hits on average as this enitre HD clearence thread does with , i dunno, half a dozen different items being posted.. imagine that.. :spit:

Wondering the same thing...

Location on the oil may not matter. My HD is so small their auto dept is also very minimal and IIRC they don't sell any synthetic oil. I checked last time when the PPlatinum was posted on clearance.

Well... something unusual happened for me today.

Keeping in mind I returned/rebought probably 10-15 different things during the Christmas discount and miter saw/table saw discount, and never ONCE had an issue. In fact, not a single time did I take the actual item back, they did it all based on the receipt. This was done at different times with different stores as well.

Went back to the original store that told me they didn't have any but their price was $117 and tried price matching. For some reason the lady was confused so she called the store manager. He walked up and was a complete arrogant *****. I was very polite and tried to make it seem like they were doing me a favor (didn't want to seem entitled). He basically called me a thief and told me to take my business elsewhere... if only he knew how much money I spent at HD over the past 2 years, he might have let it slide this time.

I will be trying another store tomorrow and hopefully I have better results. On a side note, my coworker and I stopped and picked up 2 more on our commute home from the original store, so I'm counting on a price match!

If you get a price match would you let me know? I found a display model at the Mesquite store but had the service desk check the sku for me and it still pulls up at $729.

1000128486 - Husky 15-Compartments Steel Storage Rack, Black - $10.04 / $39.97

I noticed this item on the lower shelf with no price tag. I seem to recall that this was originally priced around the $39 mark. Anyhow took it to SCO and it rang up $10.04. Bought a couple and left the rest to see if they will still be there when it falls to **.02 mark.

Can't seem to find this on HD site though.

Hey how do you get to see all the clearance items on one page like you have there? Do you search by clearance or something? I have not tried this, but looks pretty cool

Use the price check app on the instore computer. In the search box enter anything you want like "miter saw, Dremel, Bosch, mower" etc. It will give you a list of all matching items starting with the 1 cent items.

Then click on the upper left hand side that says "filter results". There you can choose to filter based on clearance status.

This only works in the in-store computers. Does not work from home.

Local HD had the Milwaukee M18 2.1 amp power sources on clearance for 15$ in the same area they had the heated coats on clearance. I grabbed one once I confirmed they were not the old 1 amp model.

You never know what you will find at HD. A few of weeks ago I found this Honda mower for $29. It was a return because the problem was id did not start. After inspecting it I found the fuel line disconnected lol.

So never forget to go check out the outdoor garden section from some good deals on power tools.

I assume you bought it amd the pressure washer I see for 84 right?

when the wife and I bought our house last year I was researching zero turn mowers trying to decide on which one. We pull up at hd to get some paint or something and they had 3 clearance Cub Cadets. Not the greatest mower in the world but after using lowes 10% coupon less than 700 out the door I was happy to mow grass with it for now. List was 2399 I believe

Well, buy them at full price and then return them to the store where they sell for $117. Go in the next morning and buy them for $117 a piece.

I have only seen 2 honda display or used one for sale at home depot....1 was $350 and other was $550...... but never $29.... You have a very good manager cutting prices there....what location in socal is that....

My friend wants to find a $298 honda mower in socal.... Know any store that has that in stock and price.... He and me both went to different socal stores with stock but all are that $499.... I was lucky to find one and that box was beat up...but inside was good new....

thanks...keep up the good post..
