I was personally not seeing a reason to separate this thread out, but now I'm thinking it may be a good idea.

I had to scroll through over 8 pages of this thread to find the original post relating to the Honda mower when I saw one that had been returned on a cart. It wasn't the right one (similar, but new SKU), but reading through page after page looking for the SKU was a pain in the ****, and the search function missed the original post.

Honestly, it's easier to find a thread on a topic now than it is a single post out of 91 pages. Too much banter on here, questions that should be PMs, etc. I'm guilty of it too (this post for example), but I think we really need to save these for after Christmas sales and start a new thread for each item. It'll make life a lot easier when verifying a hot deal in the store, as well as letting everyone here know.

If the deal you are interested in is 8 pages back they are going to be long gone by the time you get around to making it to a home depot. Even 8 pages ago you probably still had to go to 3-4 home depots to find one.

May have already been posted in this mega-thread, but I just scored 14 Hitachi impact rated mag collar tip #2 driver bits for $14 ($2 per card, bought all 7 cards available.)

Even though it was the wrong thread, THANKS, scooped a few!

I think you missed his point, which is valid.

^if he had used the "search this thread" feature at the top it would have been much easier to find the posts he was looking for

Apparently neither of you read my post, so I quoted it and bolded the parts for you to read again.

First, I used the search feature (which is hard enough to do on my phone), but it came back with no results that mentioned the SKU. Search terms "Honda Mower". I opened up about 6 posts from the oldest forward out of 11 hits. The original post with the SKU was about 2 pages further back than the search results returned.

Second, it was because I saw one on a cart that had been returned that looked very similar to the $799 top-line mower. It was a top-line Honda, but had a different SKU/part-number than the clearance one.

My bad for wanting to get a deal on a mower and finding that this thread was too bloated to search and find the one post I needed out of (now) 1800+ posts, and supporting a previous suggestion with evidence. For shame...

That Ryobi cordless miter saw is awesome. For the price its so worth it, and it lasts a pretty long time with 4.0ah batteries. It's a great tool for punch list items. Who wants to carry a heavy miter saw all the time? I will say my body appreciates the smaller lighter tools

If one is fortunate enough to find one and you are invested in some Ryobi 18V batteries, grab one if you can. This Ryobi 18V miter saw is a very nice portable tool and made similar ro nearly any imported miter saw out there but sweeter at $25.03. Always wanted one when it was first released several years ago in blue but Nicad batteries was one big deterrent back then for cordless miter saws.

Is this a national clearance? I found a store with a few of these but they were marked 99

I didn't drag one to self checkout to see if the shelf price was wrong

Checked in-store computers for prices/inventory between two stores within 5 miles of each other, one had 2 and one had zero, both showed different prices on same website. Bought one at $99 and did a returned/rebuy at the other HD which scanned $25.03 after showing the cashier with their own computer.

On the Ryobi cordless miter saw, if I call the store and they have one, but they say the price is $99 I assume I am out of luck on getting it for $25?

I already have the older but version of this saw, but the fence is not 90 degrees to the blade and I already replaced the fence once. I only use the saw right now for really rough work that doesn't need to be exactly 90 degrees, but I would get another for $25.

In the game of clearance item hunting incorrect shelf pricing is your friend.

Heh, Im quite well experienced with that :)

Was just too lazy this week to bother carting the thing back to self checkout. I might try today......I REALLY dont need another saw to store but just something about it being cordless. I could have used it 1000 times by now if I had it.

Why don't you just check the price on the in store computer?

1. Search Ryobi
2. Click "Refine"
3. Tick the clearance products option

I do this at every store I visit and just take a picture of the results with my cell, later I can compare clearance items at different stores and buy in stock @ full price and return/rebuy at an OOS store that has the lower price.

Yeah thats what Im going to do....completely forgot about the store computer until after I was already back from HD.

Plus only 1 of my local stores has the computers in a spot away from prying employees.

Just curious, are the store computers password protected?? I have never tried using one of them, but at the local HD, there are always lonely terminals that I would attempt to use to find clearance items.

Computers are not password protected, although sometimes the Home depot "launcher" program is not open therefore you cannot see the "apps" (like price checker).

This can be simply opened by clicking on the "start" button and then the program but I forget it's name.(it has home depot in the name of it)

My favorite computer to use is either in the door/window department which is often located right behind the tool department (at least in my stores) or the prodesk computer if it is later in the day.

The prodesk (unless it is later in the evening) can be pretty busy so I usually keep it short and sweet when I am at that kiosk.

Would you be willing to buy and ship? I don't think my stores have those prices but it would be nice to have a few of those items

Maybe its because he is an employee :dunno: Face it if you're buying 3 mowers it sure looks like you're reselling them.

Yup, and if he EVER used his card that he bought the mowers with for an employee purchase all other purchases with it will instantly be tracked as well.

Pretty standard stuff really

An attorney that works at Home Depot on the weekends for fun?

:bs:

Not really. I had a friend that made awesome $ as a systems analyst. He work at the local super market gathering carts from the parking lot. He loved doing it because it was mindless.

Just got back from a local store. The m12 and m18 stuff is clearanced there but they never stocked most of it.

There are other stores around me that do have the items but the computer wouldn't let me switch to mimick those stores to check the pricing. When I get a chance I will go to them and see if the prices apply there or if they are just a way to make sure nonstocking stores clear out inventory

I've applied and interviewed for jobs like these before many times, but never offered anything. Most of the time they allude to the fact that I'm overqualified, but it's not like I have some important position with a high salary. If you've ever seen that movie Office Space....

I was trying not to derail but I gotta agree here.....more though that he's an attorney and thinks he's going to jail for returning w a receipt & re-buying at a lower price? A sale is an agreement to a price and an agreement to pay consideration.........there's gotta be a ****-ton of contract law in his favor. I understand one MIGHT be able to make an argument of attempt to defraud, but it won't go anywhere with a good attorney.

The easiest thing for HD to do is just close the return & re-buy loophole, not sweat the customer. There was no coercion and no deceit, everything in a return & rebuy is done in the light of day (incidentally I've not done a return & rebuy as described here and think its ethically questionable but not terribly so and certainly NOT illegal)

That is insane... and I believe it, but how that stuff didn't sell right as the price changed is beyond me. Tools are the one things people hide for themselves when price changes like that happen. **** like that never happens to me.

I wonder if the store with the cheap Milwaukee prices was one of the ones with a big Milwaukee display. The big HD by me had a Hilti then Bosch now Milwaukee mini store. They stock pretty much everything Milwaukee sells other home depots just carry a few sku's. That's the only reason I would think a store would have that many Milwaukee sku's to clearance out. I bet they are gone by now some one smart would have cleaned it out you could make a killing reselling all of that.
