Just bought all 3

Sku 499 359

Rochester NH has 3 but full price. They were gonna price match. Problem is, they pulled them all out of the boxes, so they are all hanging. The didn't save the boxes either. Wtf is up with that? Selling open box items for full price.

I didn't bother trying to price match because I can't ship it without the box.

Concord NH has 2 at 90.03 if anyone is interested

My store *****.
Just in one aisle, I've found all of the discontinued items from the last decade...not for sale. All marked "dni" do not inventory. Guy says this stuff has been here for years.

Will post pics of just the power tool aisle tonight when I'm not standing here, crying.

If you happened to pull a box with "dni" and price checked it at the self checkout, what do you think would happen?

I might have to try it. I've seen a whole bunch of dni boxes on the racks above

Would I get in trouble for using the rolling ladder to get something myself? I spotted an old Ryobi 11 amp something (don't even know what it is) in the DNI shelf up. It's not opened. I asked an associate and he said that shelf is "all stuff they use". Apparently they haven't used this.

It's some kind of saw, that's all I can tell. Maybe a tile saw? Either way, the store doesn't carry anything from Ryobi that's 11 amps.

Wouldn't the boxes marked DNI be empty as those are what is on display or in store use?

I have been told that the shorter, yellow ladders are ok for customer use. If you are spotted in the taller, orange ladders they will definitely get upset. Likely some big liability issues.

I use those ladders occasionally for a quick peek. A bit tougher is to move those ladders across aisles which can be awkward but possible. Besides helping fellow customers reach something one can see the secret stashes high above:evil:

I always use the shorter yellow ladders and run them from one aisle to the other. They are there for customers to use.

Just checked it. It was an empty tile saw box. Boo hoo.

Do Echo chainsaws ever go on sale? Never seen it. I've been waiting to get a decent deal on one

Doubt it. I can't say for certain but almost positive echo controls the market of its suppliers. Only deal will be if one was returned and sold as used or reconditioned in store

Here's just one aisle at my HD. I asked a manager about the stuff; he said they don't sell it, and don't throw it away. He says they've been stacking it up for about 2 years in each aisle and doing nothing with it. All kinds of boxes have notes on them, basically from people buying the new stuff, stealing from the boxes, then returning them to the guy at the front that doesn't check to make sure the contents are there. There are literally dozens of boxes for Milwaukee, Dewalt, etc. cordless items that have a note that the battery is missing but the bare tool is in the box. All of the notes say to either return the item to corporate or order the missing parts and restock it. A couple said, "sell with missing parts or order and restock." I'm thinking about doing some research on those based on ebay prices, then going back in. I think that might become a barter issue. But even if I find the right manager to barter with on those, I will literally need a bigger truck. There must be 30-40 cordless tools missing parts with just those notes. Then, there are PILES of bare tools on the upper shelf. I'm excited and crying at the same time.
The guy I talked to acted like it's a waste of his time to deal with me over tools he doesn't know how to price, so they just won't be selling anything. It'll just sit there and rot. Some of the stuff has 2 part numbers back from what's on the shelf, now.
Also, don't reply with, "those are just displays." All of the stuff that is a display has "DISPLAY" written on the box, and all of those are up in the cages all the way at the top, mixed in with even more DNI returns and old stock. Anyone worked at or currently work at an HD that could give me advice on how to snag any of this stuff?

You know that guy "Jarrod" from A&E's Storage Wars tv show? I saw him last night at Home Depot talking to a manager and then rolling out the door with a CART FULL of random expensive looking items...he even bypassed all the registers!!

Keep an eye on the Ridgid 6-gal vertical pancake compressor too.

That was just "on sale" for 149 around memorial day.

Ill keep an eye on it....always wanted a portable compressor, but for 149 Id just as soon buy the recommended California Air because its quiet.

But a Home Depot blowout clearance price on the Ridgid, Id buy it!

1001199254. It just went on yellow clearance status yesterday at my store (according to the price check app) but the price hasn't dropped.

Unless you just want the Dewalt, the husky 8 gallon oiled compressor is like $100 right now and would probably make a good portable.

What's this price check app you speak of

If you go to the Pro center, there are PC's that you should be able to use. Click on the store front application and there is an icon for Public price check. You can then just enter any model number or SKU and it will pull up the price. I just did this today for an M18 Fuel bandsaw. . unfortunately, it was still at MSRP. Was hoping to get lucky like the other poster earlier and snag one for ~$85.

Was hoping you might have found some way to check from your smartphone :) wishful thinking at this point... although I may experiment with the URL and host to see if I can price check from home...
