So I found some stuff for 30.03. When does it go to a penny? Weeks? Days?

It could stay at .03 for more than 3 weeks from now, or it could drop to a penny tomorrow. It all depends on when they items was tagged at .03. If the date on the yellow is from 2014 or even 1/2015, it could possibly be already a penny as I am writing this.

At my local HD, clearance price drops occur overnight from Sunday to MOnday. Might be different at your store though.

Thanks for the heads up. I will play hardball when it comes to wallet time. I didn't want to be tough right through the gate, as he could just say he wasn't going to bother with them at stuff. But you can believe I'm only buying if it's a great deal!

When are they gonna post the winners of the $5000 gift card for first quarter? April 30th was end of first quarter.

I bought 1000 loose 1/4-in hex nuts and paid for each one individually so i'd get 1000 receipts and survey codes.

For these, you don't say anything to the managers. You find the deal in the price check app, then go looking for them in the store. Sometimes they're on the shelf, sometimes they're on a clearance rack, sometimes they're up high in the rafters, where you'll need an employee to get it down with the wheeled ladder.

That $30.03 is what their store's inventory actually lists it at. That's what you pay when you check out. There's no negotiating needed.

And what if your "local store" list them for $99. What are the chances they price match? I know my stores around here lol when I ask if they match Harbor Freight 20% coupon. The one everyone else brags about matching on here.

I have never had any luck at either Lowes or Home Depot trying to price match clearance. Some people have, but not me. It all depends on the store manager's mood, since he has to approve it usually.

I just tried it again yesterday and got shot down. $30.03 at one store for the Milwaukee saw, then the store 10 minutes away has them at full price. Manager laughs and says "not a chance". I could have just bought them all at full price, then return/rebuy at the cheaper store, but I didn't want to fork a $700 charge on my credit card.

Some times you get lucky some times you don't.

I had a receipt for a Ridgid vac I bought at a neighboring store and the manager agreed to price match it at her storebefore she knew it was going to be a 60% price drop.

She got pissy but still sold it to me.

Some stores might not even do the return/rebuy. I know one of my local stores reluctantly did it for me (since I had called ahead and asked, and remember who told me it was OK, they let me slide)

Seems that HD is starting to get their act together about clearance around here. See a price ending in .06 or .03? Sorry, we can do the return but we cant sell it back to you.

The best shot I have is to buy them and hope the price goes down. At least one of my stores said its no problem for them to adjust the price down if it drops, but they wont match another stores clearance.

My trunk was nearly full from 6 of em plus a Ridgid roofing nailer. I supposed I could have stacked 7 more in the back seat with a couple on top of the baby lol

Seriously? Why would you even say that.

You should've left the baby on the shelf above the yellow tag.

Lol. Well anyone from NH can try the return/rebuy if they're up for it.
Manchester has 7 of the M18 circular saws at $99, return/rebuy at Hooksett for $30.03. I'd rather see someone on here get the deal than someone from slickdeals.

LOL! You think?
Just how long do you guys think these penny deals / hidey stuff in the store / buy- return scams / HF price match / evolving schemes will last?
Like HD management/PR/HR doesn't read, hear or learn about this stuff that is on multiple public forums and have access to on a daily basis?

HD will NEVER fully "catch on" to anything. Many managers at stores I go to did not even know items could even ring up at a penny. Some were so surprised that they tried to ring it up themselves just to confirm. LOL at the shocked look on their face. And corporate doesn't care about people buying penny items. Corporate even said that if a customer has a penny item in his cart, he is entitled to buy it for that price, regardless if he has a single penny item or multiples. It just means less work for them.

I know it was mentioned somewhere in this thread, but I cant seem to find it again. What are the steps to finding clearance items on the in store PCs? I have a few giftcards but don't need anything specific...

This is what I was lookign for, looks simple enough!

I don't recall seeing the departments and usually my store is already inputted by default.

Typically I open the app then go to the search box where I will type in a brand: Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi, and so on. You can also search by item type but I think searching by brand is more effective.

From there I click "Refine Results" which will bring me to a new screen. At the bottom there is an option to check off on clearance items.

After this At the top you should be able to select something along the lines of "show filtered items"

Once the new screen loads if you click on an item to check inventory you will have to repeat the filter results process as is brings you back to all the items for that brand you originally searched for.

Anything you want to share?

Just off the top of my head that I predict are already a penny:

Husky battery charger
Husky leather tool belt
Rayovak alkaline batteries 48 pack

Will have to confirm at my store first though, not 100% sure.

Have a part number for any of those? I hate driving 20 minutes each way just to find out if they have any on hand at my store...

Woot just scored my first price match. Ridgid roofing nailer was $227 price matched to $100 just by showing a picture from another nearby store. Last one in stock at my store.

Like I said earlier, it all depends on who you talk to. I went to the associate at pro checkout. Yesterday the store manager told me no on the price match.

In regards to buy scams or whatever
you want to call it.
I had read somewhere about the toolboxes
/cabinets going for really cheap but there
never seemed to be any in the store.

Well over the weekend I was looking at
a Craftsman toolbox combo and while
I was there i noticed the guy had two
Husky tool cabinets, I did not ask about
them but he did tell me he had a couple
more left in storage. I said yeah those
look like Home Depot tool boxes "the
big ones". He said he got those and
about 30 others at an auction.
Whether or not he was telling truth I
don't know but I did notice someone had
flooring signs on two trucks parked
In front of his house. It makes me
wonder whether or not he might be
a flooring contracter that knows someone
at Home Depot and thats how he got all
those tool cabinets on the cheap and why
you couldn't find any in the store when
they were supposed to be on sale.

Found this deal today when trying to pick up the 3 hdx nailer kit for $25. They said they had 5 in stock but couldn't find a single one. I ended up at the clearance section and they had the bostitch smart point brad nailer there it said for 79.99 but when I got to the checkout it rang up for $30! There were three more still there at seven corners va Home Depot :)
