My HD also has giant signs inviting you to use the computers and telling you how to download the HD app for your phone. Look for them. If you're one of the unlucky guys who can't access an in-store PC to do the lookups, just download the app.

NICE! Did the PRICE CHECK app give you actual price or the sticker price? Was the inventory count correct on the PRICE CHECk app?

Price check app was much lower than the snickered clearance price...so actual price. Inventory was spot on but the tools were in the rafters. How are they going to sell them way up there with no/wrong prices??

Are you guys still seeing Ryobi blue displays & boxed new tools? I've seen quite a few of the blue Ryobi tools as displays. Sometimes with or without new blue boxed Ryobi tools on the shelf as well. I've checked a few of them and they had the same sku's.

I've also seen a Milwaukee M18 Fuel band saw (tool only) model: 2729-20 as a display but no inventory. (It was clearanced a month or so ago for $83.03 at someone else's store.).
I haven't tried to buy it since it looks identical to the replacement, which I believe is the 2729-22. Have others seen the same thing or in your stores did the get rid of the old displays too?

My stores still have all kinds of blue stuff on the shelves. A lot of the blue stuff uses the same SKU as the green, so no deals to be had. However, even a single number difference...Chaching!

The store you are referring to was showing these items at full price yesterday. They did have a good number in stock. Maybe they'll drop first thing tomorrow morning?

Moral of the story -- be persistent. Look high, and look low. You need to look low because there are cheap doucebags won't buy a tool and wait for the price to drop, instead they try to hide it in the store.

I'm pretty sure I've read on here, that there are no shortage of members that do that.

There are some ridges and slats etc along the sides of the inside walls if you take all those into account you can fit a max of
18.5" wide
10" deep
14" tall (13" tall to the top of the box when the lid is open then there is 1" that would go up inside the bottom of the lid)

To clarify those are the dimensions of a rectangular box you could fit in there, since there are slats and gaps here or there you could wedge something that sticks out here or there in there (not much bigger, maybe .25" a side

But walking over to any aisle, you can pick up a blue Ryobi as well as a green, here, and the numbers on the boxes are the same, but the display on the box is different. They sell those items as if they were the same, as they can't really differentiate them based on color. All of the blue stuff will end up on the clearance rack at some point, but Ryobi is already cheap as it is. The discount won't be that great if it shares the same SKU as a green item.

That can't be. The Ryobi sander I just bought ends in a 2 and has a cord. It's replacement model ends in a 9 and also has a cord.

What I've noticed as far as the blue/green goes, say for example the blue is Ryobi part number P501, the green will be P501G, they will both have different UPC numbers on the bar code, but both will be linked to the same Home Depot SKU number. When you price check either one at self checkout, the come up as the same item.

Well went to 3 stores this weekend and didn't find one thing. Only one of those 3 stores had something in inventory from the price check app. 4 boxes of 2,000 nails, and one bostitch nailer. Looked for both, couldn't find anything. The guy asked what I was looking for as I was looking up high, and said they have no clearance items up there and that it would be in the clearance section.

I just need to compile a list of sKU's and do better searching, up high and down low.

Tried a different store out today and it was a complete bust. Only thing I found were nails showing $5 on the computer but they rang up at $43. I asked an employee and they told me that it must be $5 somewhere else...whatever, I didn't have time to argue.

I would like to thank ya'll for the information in this thread. I was able to find a Milwaukee multi tool and Bosch laser at .03 levels this weekend. I have used both and they both work great. I was hoping to get one of the circular saws and grinders to use, but it seems some one beat me there. The store had at least 10 or 12 of them a week ago. I guess someone cleaned them out. The box for the Bosch laser was destroyed. Tape was the only thing holding it together. Maybe that's why it was still in the store. Someone may have thought it looked to bad to resell. I was purchasing to use the tools so I didn't mind.

Does GJ have a place to introduce yourself?
