Jealous of all the deals you are picking up.

Can someone who got the Bostitch Framing Nailer post the bar code or receipt.

I live in canada and am curious when/if these deals will make it across the border to the Canadian chains.

I just checked on my lunch break and the nailer was coming up as $249. The barcode (in Canada) is: 0 79914 04121 4

I have reason to believe the deals will slowly trickling over here as i picked up the Paslode Framing Nailer for $99CAD and a few pages back someone got the same one for $68US

If you're using their website to find the deals, it will always come up full price. The only way you can find a deal is to physically go into each store. There is no way, NONE, to find the deals online...Other than the good folks at GJ who are doing the legwork for you.

I went there got them to pull a box off the shelf and went to self checkout to do a price check and it was $249CAD.

To those asking about the nailers, I have one of each right now, including the one that was just pictured.

To those with bare tools, I'm keeping a few for myself and I'm **** about my tools. I have to have the case or I will sell the tool. I'm weird like that.

A few discoveries today & a QUESTION:
1) a Sr VP came thru the store a few weeks ago & raised hell about the organization of items "up above", especially in tool dept. thus my store has done a complete "cleaning & organization" of their upper shelves at least in tools. No deals found while this occurred and I double checked with 4 tool employees. Thus, finding deals is almost gone, for now
2) in my store the dewalt DS400 & DS150 are not even in the computer's price app! I looked both by the sku number & name. While the name came up as a choice it wouldn't even pull up a page. Said "not available" or the like.
3) my store still has the Diablo 4th of July blade display still in the rafters unopened. May have to consider using this as leverage to get a price match I need, or I'll tell corporate, ha ha! Doubt if it would work even if tried because they don't budge on price matches with other HD stores.
4) there were some up & coming "event boxes" in the rafters with fushia colored signs saying don't display til 8/3/2015 & it looked like it was Dewalts inside. Another event set for 7/16 but no idea what's inside.

The Question:
One item I want My store to price match another HD on says there is one in stock but I confirmed there are two. Would it be correct to assume the one that's extra would be pure profit & not something they would take a hit on selling below their cost? Especially if rung up under a different sku than the item actually has assigned to it? This may be the real angle for me if I can determine this to be true.

Angle all you want; I've found at every single store, they will not make deals of any kind. They will sell it to you at the clearance price, but they will definitely not give you the time of day if you offer 30 on a 58 dollar clearance nailer. That's the 7 stores I've been to, anyways. I'm going back to mine in a couple of days to see how many more empty cases I can take home.

Did the entire line of Hitachi nailers get discontinued? I know that the NV45AB2 roofing nailer got clearance sale pricing, but what about the other Hitachi nailers?

Someone has said that HD isn't going to be carrying the Hitachi nailer line any more. Does that mean other Hitachi nailers should be discount priced too? I haven't seen any of the other models at clearance prices, just wondering.

I've only ever seen the roofing nailer at stores here.

yes, we know the hitachi and bostitch nailers are going to lowes.
but what i'm trying to figure out is if the other hitachi nailers i'm finding at HD are being closed out.
i found the nailers but i can't find them in price check.

Maybe its just me but seems like HD has changed there website so you can do very little checking. Takes mostly legwork and lookin up My HD will not price match at all anymore and if you try to use the customer Comp. you got an employee lookin over your shoulder. The only inside loop I have anymore is 1 guy in tools who calls me and the asst. manager has my cell phone no.

Almost forgot, this Ridgid nailer was the only thing I could find tool wise today in clearance. Well, that was until I did an online search & found it at the exact same price at HD online.
Some poor suckers gonna think he got a good deal!

I mentioned this a few pages ago. I used to be able to check store inventory, but not store price. now i can't check store inventory or store price, just online price. store inventory check was part of what got disabled when the website got "broken" during the pallet-o-nails frenzy.

What do you mean? If it's a regular-stock item in the store (not clearance obviously) it should still show how many are in stock. I just looked up a Ridgid nailer (not a clearance one):

IN STOCK AT YOUR SELECTED STORE

Cumberland #121

Atlanta, GA 30339

Change Pick Up Store

6 In Stock

Aisle 16, Bay 005

That's on the normal HD site. I think the Pro site is a little better for finding actual inventory. I usually just use the Pro site anyway..

why does the date say 7/26/15 on that sticker? I thought that date was supposed to be when that price started?

Sorry guess I missed that part mine recently says on some items check local store for availability.

oh I've noticed at least in my stores, it says that online when their "supposed inventory count" is zero, meaning they may or may not have any left. Don't quote me on this, but it's just what I noticed in my stores. The ones that said that for nailers in my stores, all had a 0 inventory count in the Price Check app.

I don't think this is something new. I remember this when I was looking up the worm drive Skilsaws a few months ago.

It's definitely something new. No question about it.

What do you mean? If it's a regular-stock item in the store (not clearance obviously) it should still show how many are in stock. I just looked up a Ridgid nailer (not a clearance one):

before the 50-cent nails binge, i was able to look up clearance items online, and check the in-store availability of clearance items, but not their price, in any store i wanted to look at. this was regardless of whether there was zero inventory or not. i used to get a store list that showed in store availability in my region. sure, the web site only showed the web site's price, not the local store clearance sale pricing, but it still showed accurate in-store inventory data on any SKU that i knew were on clearance.

that doesn't work any more.

now when the things are on clearance in my local store, the web site says online only instead of showing in-store inventory. now the website will also not offer the ship to store option, or the free ship over $50 option, and won't allow me to check store inventory on an SKU that is on clearance. i'm not imagining this -- this is a definite change that they implemented to put an end to some of the searching for price reduced inventory and getting a ton of it with free shipping.

if you've missed this change in the site's behavior, then you haven't been using the site enough to notice what features have been disabled, and when they became disabled. ordering was turned off in the wee hours on The Night of the Long Nails, and they issued a "technical difficulties" message when they turned it off. some poster here noted this with a post saying, "we broke it." Ordering didn't get resumed until the following morning, and that morning the web site's behavior was changed so that these features i've mentioned became disabled.

i'm not complaining, just stating the facts. maybe i'm one of the people who contributed to it. i had $1000 in 50c nails in my shopping cart at the time that the web site became "broken" and it broke before i was able to complete checkout. so i lost out on that deal. no biggie, i probably would have had that order cancelled like others did. but as a result of losing my cart i paid VERY close attention to the way that the web site worked. they definitely disabled some if it's features as a result of the nail thing. definitely not a coincidence. oh well. life goes on and we adapt to the new paradigm...

Dare I say it -- if you're letting a framing nailer get in the way of building a house, then you should just buy one somewhere else and get busy. Time is money. There's no sense in missing a build start date or a move-in date over a $279.00 nailer. Compared to the cost of building/buying a house, the savings on a clearanced framing nailer is insignificant.

I can see putting off a garage or a shed, or some other small homeowner's project while you nickel and dime for Hot Deals, but putting off building a house? IMO delaying a house build over a framing nailer is penny wise and pound foolish.

Of course, that's just my point of view. Nothing wrong with a different viewpoint.

I still think that a floating nailer for projects would be a cool idea, but then you know how that would wind up working -- some guy would want to use it to build a house instead of on a weekend project.

Ops, honestly didn't even notice that but I believe your right. It's the date that the price was listed for that item. Oh well, it just adds to the unusualness I get to enjoy at my store! :lol_hitti

Oh, I see. didn't mean to come off as a know it all.

So you're going to frame it yourself? Good for you!

I'm going on a drive this weekend to hunt at some remote stores. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a bunch for you guys who really need them.

Maybe you'll find some M18 Fuel 1/4" Impact Drivers too for some of us who have been unlucky with them! I visited two more HD while I was up visiting parents in Chicago and no luck.

Also as I've said before, I'll pay to ship one of those M18 kits from pretty much anywhere in the US. Probably except Alaska and Hawaii though...

I found a 5 drawer chest a year or so back marked down to $30.03 said do not sell until 8/30 it's was early July, took it to the checkout and walked out the door with it. So not sure what the deal is with that stuff.

Is this one of the nailers that people are looking for?

List is $229
I found 2 at $58.

What are the other ones people are looking for?

SKU 377457

2 - 3-1/2 in. Wire Weld Framing Nailer

OK,

Here's the deal.

Call me an idiot for not realizing this before, and wasting my own time, and others.

A couple of members PM'd me asking about one of these nailers.

I had not picked them up yet.

I had gone to my local store and found them on clearance according to the price check app.

It showed none in my store, but 3 in another, and 2 at a nearby store as well.

Today I went to one of those stores and found it full price.

Turns out that they may keep something active in a store where they sell well, and even order more, while they are clearancing in another. The first store may never clear them out.

Each store acts alone in this way. This is why you must return for a price adjustment to the store you bought something from.

Anyone finding different?

I just had this happen tonight.
It is aggravating.

Local store computer said one store around me had it for 53.00 I drove 30 minutes and it was 229.00 store employee was very knowledgeable and said all home depots are almost the same but the people are different and the employee in that store should have called us to confirm the price first. I said I didn't ask someone I used the computer and it said 53.00 and one at your store was available.

It also listed a paslode at that second store for 63.00 and it was about 269.00 I think when I got there.. The odd thing was the paslode was only in a box up high. There were none on display with that model number. How will they sell it that way?

So I remembered my store had no in stock milwaukee clearance items and none at this second store I was at according to my stores computer this morning. So while at the second store I searched milwaukee and the m18 circular saw, cut off and multi tool all pop up as clearance 30.03 with none at that store but it shows my store has two or three of each. The second store I was at and searching milwaukee is a smaller store and they only had m18 stuff in drills and impacts. So maybe they had some earlier and clearanced them since they didn't sell.

There was another paslode model at the second store at full price too not on display just in a box up top.

Both stores had the dewalt boxes at the same clearance price though a week ago. All gone now.

The bad thing is I don't wanna call and ask the store for the price first because some employees will see the price and say it is out of stock and buy it themselves. Half the discounted stuff I use to buy at Lowes online would get cancelled and say out of stock. When I would go in the store the next day and ask an employee where the sale stuff was he said I just sold the last one.

Bought a bostitch stapler tonight for 27.00 and the guy that got it down said wow I'd a bought this if I knew this.

Unrelated my store has a m12 impact and driver two tool set listed at full price on a yellow sticker but the store price check shows it at about 40% off of that price. It probably won't sell and get discounted more. Then one of you will find it and buy it.

All kinds of stores charge different prices in different areas of the country I just didn't think it would be different in basically the same city.

Also when I searched dewalt or milwaukee at the second store it didn't show some things my store did show.

Anybody have comments on the 52'' Husky tool box with LED lights in the drawers? I found 2 on the top rack of overhead for $83.03 and am thinking about getting them

read the reviews. they are not very positive. the metal is thin, esp the fact that the side handles bolt to nothing but sheet metal and flex when moving it. also a lot of complaints that the way the power cord for the lights is set up you cannot put the cabinet flat against the wall. Plenty of reviews on HD's site and a couple of tool sites.

but down from the origina price of $399 to $83 maybe you can forgive a few faults. And they are pretty cool looking!

IMO that Husky at retail was a decent tool box / work bench for the diy garage but at $83 nothing comes close for what it offers. Large BB drawers for bulk storage, innovative lighting and 52" of storage. Maybe a little structural reinforcement to turn it into a decent work bench with a vise.

hint: inventory transfer and phone sale.ask for the mgrs, they can do it no problem.basically you go to the store with the item ,then ask to pay by phone the store with the clearance price, and pick up the "inventory transferred" item from the store where you and the item are.do not ask for a price match, that is different.
