Anybody got an SKU for the blue box ryobi grinder? Spn I seem to remember you nabbing one recently. I found one hiding.

Grills -- my HD had grills on sale outside a couple of weeks ago. Clearing out seasonal merchandise. I looked at the price check app a few minutes ago and there were great deals, but no stock within 100 miles.

That won't work lol. It's a display that is set up with the welders to show off the product. They won't sell display models until they clearance that model out. Besides, there is no UPC to scan on it.

About six years ago, at our local HD I bought a Lincoln wire welder that was a display unit for $50. It was missing the box and the gun, but I didn't care. I had two brand new guns/liners, and retro-gas kit at home, for the same machine, that I had bought at an auction for... $10 for the whole box!

I was happier than a pig in you-know-what that day!

Someone else pointed these out a few days ago. I snagged one from an HD that I don't normally go to, this evening. Not bad for $9.97, normally retails for $29.98.

I had to reboot the PC today when it wouldn't connect to the server. Then I was able to search by all sorts of stuff. Inventory was just done in my store and there were not many deals at all to be had. I'm thirsty thought...

Tonight I won my first battle with a manager.

The associate had it price up at $9 and so did the cashier. I took them over to the contractor computer to confirm my price. Then they called the manager who fought it tooth and nail until running out of excuses. I trumped all of her excuses with "your store computer says" and finally she folded and gave it to me.

I could have been mean and purchased all 11 but decided I didn't want to push my luck. My girlfriend was a big help tonight with this task. I'll be bringing the lady with me more often to get this done.

Still haven't got my first penny item though.

Same scenario here at my store, they had 14 in stock. They refused and said only for the check out price of 9.**. The sticker on the shelve said 12 or 14.00 they said the price check app was overuled by the register and or shelve price. I didn't bother. Glad you got them.

Went to local HD tonight about an hour before close and noticed one of their employees(been in there so often - it's sad I recognized the guy) in street clothes having a plastic wrapped Husky 26 Drawer rung up at the register farthest from the managers office. The drawer still had the bright pink "Hold for sale for 6/11 event" tag on it.

I've walked the store and hadn't seen it.

Fighting a battle that's tough to win.

Also, any New York guys having any luck - my stores (about 4-5 local ones) either have stock of these items at full price or they are nowhere to be found at the clearance price. I stop in maybe 2x a week to a few different stores.

End rant.

When would the hold for 6/11 dewalt storage boxes go clearance? Like I said, store near me literally has pellets. Do promo items like this go straight to penny or do they still follow the regular clearance schedule?

I could use some advice.

I found a tool that was carried by the stores 6 months ago. They were clearanced out. I found another one in the store in with the other tools. The problem is that it doesn't have the cardboard sleeve around the case. The SKU is hand written on the case. It doesn't pull up in the price check app and the app on my phone says online only. With no barcode I can't scan it at the SCO. Any advice on how to handle this?

Can you get the UPC from the HD site and manually enter in SCO?

I am not aware that you can manually enter stuff in SCO, but maybe you can...

Go up to the Pro desk or Customer Service desk and have them price check the SKU, without bringing the item up there. Make sure they're giving you the store price, not the internet price.

If it's a penny, you might be out of luck. Try to find the dumbest looking cashier to punch it in. Either that, or you could try Pro checkout, and claim you are a contractor.

I don't see you getting this one at a penny since you can't scan it yourself. You could try making the arguments that others have made, but it might be a tough battle.

Only the cashier can manually enter a SKU/UPC.

What I suspected.

Played dumb with a guy last night about some no-home stuff. Had him check a few things and tried to get some info out of him regarding the stuff. All of it was regular price though and waiting for MET.

Just remembered though I did see 2 CAT Portable Jump Starters on a top shelf that looked like they had been there forever. Didn't get a chance to check the SKU in the app but. They are still available for $149 online and show 2 in stock in this store. Curious as to what they will be in store... SKU is 1000-545-616.

Store near me has 3 full sets of the Milwaukee Toolboxes set up near the clearance section.

But it was only marked down to $284 for the 8-drawer top box and I didnt see any price tags on the bottom boxes.

You check in the computer? The computer will change the price without asking the price tags permission.

Thanks for the tips. I had someone price checked this same item 3 or 4 months back and they looked it up on the Internet and told me full price.

I thought about trying to enter the UPC at the self checkout or printing it and scanning it.

I feel like printing my own barcode would be wrong. I haven't been able to think of a way to SCO that I consider to be morally right.

I will try the asking for help and give them the SKU trick.

Thanks.

I wouldn't try the printing bar code idea.. even if it is the correct bar code, if you get caught it will result in the police getting called under suspicion that you're trying to do price altering, or "label swapping" as they call it around here.

Just ask at Pro or Customer Service what the store price for that SKU is

Yeah, thats the one.

But note the UPC....I bet if you pulled one of the 4 that are in stock, the UPC is different. Check the model on the ones in stock, if you can find them...it looks like now it will be DWS709, NOT DWS782 like in the pic.

throw all 4 of them on your cart and scoot your *** over to SCO and have a blast.

that SKU at the stores here pull up the DWS709. like chrisexv6 said, it depends on what they have the DWS709 UPC code tied to.

I wouldn't hesitate to give it a shot though. Make sure you can lift it up to scan it yourself, or bring someone with you.

They won't get them down for me, because they are a special event for August.

Can you see them in overhead? Bring binoculars :) or try to use your cell phone zoom to see what model is listed on the box.

Im almost 100% positive they will be the DWS709.

My local stores were completely cleared out of the DWS782 miter saw (allegedly by me ;) ), and now list the same SKU as in stock again at full price.

That's weird. Most of the stores around here have it out already with a $399 price tag on it.

How many times have you tried to get it down? Try it again at a different time with different employees.. go in right after opening and half hour before closing.

Even if it is the DWS709 with a different UPC code, they should still be tied to that same SKU number

Was anyone able to find this Dewalt? I would love to get my hands on it.. but it was never stocked around here. Actually I'd be happy with any decent 21-degree framer
I thought dewalt nailers were looked down on.

I think they cleared them out. I did look in the specific locations you had mentioned but there weren't any. I am keeping an eye out on those Dewalt storage boxes though. I wonder how long before the price goes down since they were a 6/11 promo.

Might also go back and grab some of those gloves. Not sure I need all 100 pairs but a few would be good.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Really? I would have thought the Dewalt nailers would be nearly identical to the Bostitch. They're both owned by Stanley Black & Decker, and their designs are the same, with the exception of color.

this is the one I got for a penny a few months back

Google that UPC and it comes back to DWS782

If you google the UPC in cheesie's pic, it comes back to DWS718SP which is a really old saw that had been cleared out a while ago.

So its possible if Cheesie could get a hold of one of those saws, it might actually ring up a penny (and it might be why everyone refuses to pull one down for him)

Checkout as usual. It is most likely a penny. Raise hell if they don't sell it to you for the penny.

I love finding these deals but I'm not willing to do something morally questionable.

I will get someone to price check because it may still be full price.

You are correct. The HD picture has wrong model number. I guess HD decided to reuse the SKU, updated the UPC but not the model number?
