Was at the Dade County store last night, grabbed the small 16 gauge paslode nail + fuel combos that I got for a penny the night before at another store, but when I walked up to the self check out they rang up 6 dollars, weird thought they were all going to be a penny nation wide.

So I pushed the cart back to the clearance section and put them back. Then I grabbed 45 Hitachi 15 gauge 1,000 packs took them to the none self checkout cashier, when she rang them up it came up to a penny each, she was apparently well trained and said that she can't sell them but that they are free and I can have them. Then she escorted me to the front exit and told the security officer I was clear to take them.

That's the second employee this year that follows the rules, and did a great job. 845 dollars in nails for free. Ahhhh feels so good. :)

On another note they had 20 plus of those Milwaukee drill speaker sets in the clearance section, can't wait till they go down to 25 bucks.

Grills are starting to be clearanced in my area. First time I have seen .00 price be over 50% off. I asked the manager for additional discount. She asked how much I was willing to pay. I said a penny. She said maybe in September and winked at me LOL maybe she likes me :)

That sticker says 4/27/15

Way to go. I only saw those in one store tool rental area and they were .01 but only 6 packs. Plus two boxes of roofing nails for .01

All the rest were 4.92 and 4.82

Hope you got a DA gun, not FN

Scored another penny deal! Found the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/4" impact driver way up in the rafters. SKU is 342014. Model is 2653-22CT. SCO rang up a $.01, I put my penny in, got my receipt and left. Apparently there are still some unicorns out there.

Nice, I've noticed the other day when I scanned the 7 boxes of paslodes that rang up a penny in self check out, the system asked for an attended, but I swiped my Credit Card through and it cleared the screen and allowed my to buy them. Strange :headscrat maybe they have a new system that tells them about multiple penny items?

I don't know. A few days ago when I got the Husky impact for a penny it made me wait for a cashier. It wouldn't let me pay at all.

You ran your card for $0.07? [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I've been keeping a pocket of change lately for those elusive $0.01 deals. I've been stocking up on the Paslode nail/fuel combos and hitting tools rentals for the hitachi nails and staples.

I'm pretty sure I've ran my card for $0.01 before. I rarely carry cash and usually forget to grab change from the car before heading in.

I forgot about that damn milwaukee driver all you guys are lusting for. I walked through 6 stores yesterday while on road out of town and forgot to look for those.

I use to look for the dewalt saws that were on closeout but all the dewalt and milwaukee boxes run together they look so much alike except for a number.

Using a credit card to pay for penny items only allows them to create a dossier on you. The stores hate it when people buy penny deals, and when you use your credit card you're creating a record of exactly who you are. If you don't want to get profiled as one of the people who "robs" the store then it's probably better to drop in a coin and remain anonymous.

I agree, but I think the only thing it would affect is returns right? What else could happen?

I paid with change when I only had penny nails just by nature anything under a dollar I don't even think about using a card. I did have some penny nails along with other items for over 100.00 I used a card on.

People have gotten banned from stores, specifically for return and rebuy, but I'm sure you can find other ways to get yourself banned.

I never heard of someone being banned from buying something. I have read about being banned from returning stuff for 90 days.

I guess I hang with the wrong crowd.

Very doubtful that anyone is going to get banned from HD simply for purchasing penny items, especially since corporate specifically said it is ok for customers to purchase penny items.

Read through this thread. There's a few on here that've gotten banned.

If some store manager banned them just for buying penny items, those people should take it up with corporate to get unbanned...because corporate policy is that customers are allowed to purchase penny items if they find them.

When I found 3 big boxes of Hitachi staples, the first 2 scanned fine for a penny. The 3rd set off the alarm. I might have scanned the wrong barcode though, there was a HD SKU sticker with a barcode on it right next to the UPC. Not a clearance tag or the normal white shelf tags.

I hit up 2 local stores last night and got a bunch of penny nails/staples... first store didnt even notice and i had a full cart full from the tool rental dept.. second store the SCO casher stopped me and called a manger... 2 mangers came over.. the one manager acted like he caught me in bed with his wife.. the second just had to let me know he knows about people like me taking advantage and using SCO I had HD corporate dialed and was on hold when this second manager told me to just take the items when I refused to pay last clearance price the first guy kept bitching about

You guys are making me jealous. I was happy to find the lighted 9" crescents at our home depot for $4.00. There was 5, I went back the next day and there was none. Someone had taken them out of clearance section and put them back in the tool isle under a price tag that said 14.99. I think employees are getting all the good stuff at our small town home depot.

I found a couple more .01¢ backpack sprayers the other day. Funny thing is, they weren't in the rafters, but right on the shelf. They even had the $69.97 sticker on the shelf. Thinking they might have re activated them, I only took one up to the registers for a price check. Unfortunately, it was close to closing, and all but 1 regular register were closed. When it rang up .01¢, the circus began. While the head cashier went to the garden department to talk to the guy there, I went and got the other sprayer. after a few minutes of me politely standing my ground, the manager politely sent me on my way with a couple free sprayers.

Also got one of the Bosch GLL2-10 laser level for .01¢.

The unicorns are still out there. Even some old ones are still out there.

Not a tool, but a great flooring deal nonetheless. Hope it's helpful.

Went shopping in the Longview, TX store for the vinyl laminate that looks like wood. My wife wants some for our living room. The associate told us to hang on a minute and came back with a sample in cherry. Good stuff. Not the best they sell, but solid.

Was 1.99 square foot in the store. Clearance priced at .50 sf now. Still at 1.79 sf online. In the store, it worked out to about $14 a box for 28 sf. Planning to put some of this in my shop bathroom when it's up in a week or two.

One side bonus is that the associate who helped us confirmed that if I found any penny deals in the store I get to buy them with no issues. She found one on gloves once but they're told to clear the shelves of those items when they find them and donate or throw them away. They donate most of their stuff to local missions like Habitat for Humanity. Very cool.

That's awesome, I haven't seen the Bosch on here in a while.
That store must not be shopped that much wherever it is.

The Bosch was in one of the stores around Harrisburg. Again, it was right on the shelf with the rest of the levels. In the front, even.

The sprayers were in Reading, Pa.

I was surprised to find any of it, as both stores seamed very organized, and picked over.

Yea that's true. Last Night I hit up my closest store while I was enroute to pick up my son. I grabbed 6 pasloade 16 gauge nail and fuel combos, and a box of AA's scaned the battery pack first then the penny nails. After dropping the first batch, I walked back and got the other 7 and a little string line Johnson level, scanned that first then the nails. It went threw fine no problems. I'm not worried about them tracking my card, I don'r return much anyway. Not gonna start caring pennies in my pocket, Card is faster.

Man I'm gonna have to check the sprayers then I found a couple on the shelf at 69 dollars like you but didn't bother taking them to the self check out. I'm only going to take one next time and see, need it to spray the fence with stain.
