An assistant manager just stopped me and scolded me for buying too many penny items. [emoji15] told me to call the store manager tomorrow. He would like to speak to me. [emoji16]

The same store that I bought the $4,000 worth of DeWalt nails & Nailers for 20¢

Got 9 Universal tub and shower kits. They were on the top rack. Had a guy bring 4 down first, then I grabbed a milwakuee multimeter at 30 bucks and walked to the self check out. No problem so I walked to my car and dropped them off. I grabbed another cart and headed back in the store. I asked another guy for five bronze kits and proceeded to the self checkout there a woman at the checkout stop me right when I was going to swipe the card. They called the head cashier who told me they could not sell them. When I showed them the other receipt the old fart from plumbing came up and grabbed them and walked away with them, I asked for the manager who's name was Patric he told me that they could not sell them bla bla bla, I showed him a receipt I had from another store with a penny sticker label that I had attached to it that clearly shows him that they do sell penny items. Then he said he would sell them for 5 bucks, I didn't want to fight anymore so I paid for them and left. Still thinking I should email corporate, but at 5 bucks for 5 and the others were a penny that's around 2.80 each so it was fine.

This same store was were I got all the hitachi nails for free go figure, I wish they would all be on the same page either give it to us, sell it for a Penny or not.

Got 3 cases of roofing nails fo 50 cents each too.

Screw that. You can get 280 of those for $2.80. That's some serious profit margin he just racked on your *** lol. Nice score

Yea I hear ya, that's why I didn't bother fighting it, they have a mess at this store. But it's always packed the sales in that store must be high. Oh and here is a picture of the milwakuee radio drill combos in the clearance rack. Must be like 20 of them.

That's awesome. All the Milwaukee stuff is still .00¢ so it'll be a while before we see decent mark downs on those.

Yea it will take a while or they will hold them, for Black Friday, bet they will sell for 79.00 bucks on Black Friday.

The older model M12 radio went down to 70 dollars from79.00 clearance price. It's taking them a while to go down.

What you guys think? Should I figure out what he possibly has to speak to me about or should I just stay away from that store for a while and move on?

They have the item in stock but don't have a spot on the planogram for the area yet. I see a ton of items like that lately as my local HD totally reset the tool area.

Interesting. These were written in sharpie with big letters across the entire end of the box. Which made me assume the were headed out for liquidation, not for sale.

Even if headed to liquidation... why deface a box when there are options like stickers, masking tape, etc. :-(

It probably just boils down to convenience. Most associates have sharpies in their aprons. Just write on the box right then and there rather than finding tape and having to mark out tape for store use.

I'd keep going there, but you are not obligated to speak with him. You paid for all your merchandise

Call him... from a pay phone. Curious to see what he says. He can't really give you any ****, but maybe he wants to see if you want to liquidate a bunch of stock, or returns. Who knows? As long as you haven't done anything wrong, shouldn't be a problem.

Haven't seen a pay phone in years maybe at the airport but pay phones are long gone around here. But he's right call him and see what happens. It's worth a shot.

I use to agree with this, but I do this calling some places I want to not be known at and when they ask for info I would normally lie about they say I see you are calling from ***-***-xxxx and read back my number.

It started happening a few years ago.

Thanks for the heads up. I have not used it in a while. Could always call from a Google voice phone number also.

I would go to a Lowes and ask to borrow their phone " I need to order some custom windows but have to ask my wife about the colors, can I use your phone?". That should raise a eyebrow or two at home depot. But also might kill any good will they might want to offer.

Saw this too

I saw this as well. Only one store had any in stock though. There is another model that is $49 too IIRC.

Glad to see you guys picking up these shower kits. All my boxes except for 2 I think have the straps cut off. Most of them don't have the packaging bag inside broken, but a few do so they were probably returns.

3 Tuscan bronze, 1 polished chrome, 1 brushed stainless

Funny thing with the shower kits, I had 3 in my cart from the clearance section with $25.03 stickers. Had an associate get some down from the overhead. Gave me 2 that matched a SKU in my cart. There were 2 more kits with a different SKU, he scanned one and said "sorry I can't give you these 2, they're listed for disposal, but I can call a manager and get you a discount on it". I passed, said I have enough already lol

Haha. I haven't seen any of the chrome and only managed one of the bronze.

What does the "no home" actually mean? I noticed several Milwaukee tools with No Home written on the boxes a couple of months ago. They rang up full price.

No home just means there is no designated place for them. It's common with new items where they are planning to change the layout of the bays or old items that have been taken out of them and replaced with the new

They have the item in stock but don't have a spot on the planogram for the area yet. I see a ton of items like that lately as my local HD totally reset the tool area.

With these T8 bulbs they had only one other variation of the "instafit" on the shelf for $22.**. They employees didn't even know what these were. Told an employee I needed two of the bulbs up there (there were 3 brand new boxes). Guy got the box down and went looking for someone who works in lighting as he was just passing by when I grabbed him. Lighting guy was like where did these come from, where did you find these...Both are like "we need to make sure these are sold individually and not by the box first". I just played along and didn't even bother showing them the HD app or question anything. One guy scans it to which I say "$10 a piece right" before he even sees the price. He goes "ya must be, they aren't $10 a box that's for sure, they are "no home" that's why they aren't down here."

Will keep an eye out to see if these will ever make it to the shelf... Hopefully he just stuck the box back up in the rafters and they will go penny eventually :rocker:

Insulation is all full price around here unfortunately...

I bet he wants to tell you to stop paying the penny and just let you walk with them so they don't hit their inventory.

How do these things go unnoticed by employees...

Had you been keeping an eye out on these?

I would love to have one of those...

I think these sold out completely around here at full price. As soon as they dropped to the first clearance price, they were gone in every store.

Let's just say that if a manager wants to speak to you, it may be in your best interest to hear him/her out.
