But walmarts have a back storage area.. At least the ones around here do. I've done inventory for them before when I worked for RGIS. If something isn't on the shelf, it may still be in the back storage area.

Home Depot already has the high ceiling and high racks. I doubt they are gonna change the way they keep their overflow, other than cutting back on items that don't sell fast.

If anyone is willing to pick me up 5 of each of those blades and slide them in a padded envelope please PM me. My store was wiped out at 4pm.

Wish I would have seen this earlier. I was able to pick up some blades at one of my local stores earlier. Thanks all for the heads up! Also picked up 2-10pks of switch covers/wall plates. They were in a display right next to the Diablo Sawzall blades

Not coming up in my local HD computer, but one in stock. Comes up as Item not found.

Penny. Either that or you're gonna get the "item not found" in self checkout.
If SCO says item not found, then you're gonna have to test your negotiation skills with the manager. Hopefully he'll just le you take it free. If he tries to make you pay full price, remind him that they were supposed to dispose of it a long time ago and have already wrote it off their inventory. Be nice unless the manager is a hardass and won't budge from full price.

It's not regional. Every store has them. The store here locally just wanted to keep theirs for whomever refused to put the promotion out....Just like last time...and the time before that....

I'm wondering if they are not putting out the displays - none of the stores around here have them or seem to know anything about it, and it is not shown on the website (previously they showed up on the website).

My local stores blade display was full, none had been sold yet and this was at 6pm tonight...I'm guessing because it had a price of 3.97 each

Hmm, maybe that is the issue here - the display is mismarked. What is the SKU for the $1 blades? I do recall seeing a display with blades, but they were several dollars. They also show at the same prices online.

do a search in the Price Check app for "diablo". If they have 50 in stock, then they stocked up for the event. If you can't find the display on the floor or up in the rafters, then it's still out in receiving.

If you think they are priced wrong, do a "price check" on it at self checkout.

It should be a big white cardboard display box.. approximately 1.5' x 1.5' x 4' tall

I saw the switchplates someone else mentioned, tried a different store at lunch yesterday, but did not see the blades - or a missing or empty display. I'm wondering if they kept them back for "preferred" customers or something.

Like I said, check the Price Check app, that will show you if they have them in stock.

These actually should have been held for "preferred" customers, or customers with Pro accounts.. since the whole event is for "pro appreciation week". They should have just called it "customer appreciation week" since absolutely none of the event is reserved for Pro customers.

So, about trying to get a price correction..is this up to the manager? The direct item in question would be the chamberlain that is about $124. We all know it'll drop to about $62. If I buy mine, would I be able to go back in and say hey its cheaper now. Can we adjust the price?

Might be tough if they no longer have any in stock. If they still have stock it should be no problem.

One of my local stores never has a problem adjusting price, even if the item is out of stock.

One of my other local stores gives me grief no matter what

So its really a crapshoot, at least in my area.

The store closest to me either didn't put out their display for the $1 blades or they're already gone!

Going to check out the HD on HWY 410 tonight.

Went there this morning. Not much to see. Will say that the store does have a good "penny" policy. If you find a penny item they will give you the item (the first time I went to the SCO with a penny item - 2 lighted exhaust fans - the SCO attendant told me to hold on, called the manager and advised that "this was my lucky day" as she told me the exhaust fans were free. She thanked us (my wife was with me) for shopping at Home Depot and wished us a good day. She even allowed me to go back to the bath area to pick up a third exhaust fan (same model as the other two) that we left behind. Can't argue with that type of customer service.

BTW - Went to the Rhode Island store this morning to pick up some of the HDMI cables you left behind. Not sure if it your way with women, or your dazzeling smile, but I was not allowed to purchase the cables. I had 15 in my cart and after scanning the 6th cable the "See Attendant" screen came up. She cleared it and I went back to scanning but the screen came up again. Attendant finally realized that I was scanning penny items and said that she could not sell them. Had her call the Manager on Duty (MOD) to see if they could help but the MOD refused to selll them to me. We discussed the merits of the corporate policy, but the MOD would not budge. I offered to call corporate, but given the early hour (got there shortly after the store opened) Customer Service was not in the office. As such, left the cables behind and went on my way. Still had a reasonably successful day as I found 5 more cables and 5 boxes of T8 flourescent lights (Soft White - 10 in a box - originally $49) all for a penny each (this was the College Park store - nothing else exciting).

At the Hyattsville store, I found some Quirky items that had been sitting on a shelf in the electrical area for quite some time. Three ofthe items were USB Charging dock - which allows you to hook up to 5 USB items to the stand for quick charging of your phones, tablets, etc. The other two items were piggy banks that sync with your Iphone to keep track of the amount of money you put into the bank. When we tried to determine a price for these items, the scanners did not find the products. After a short deliberation the young ladies at Customer Service and SCO decided to give me the items at no charge. I will find quite a bit of use for the USB charger (might keep our kitten from trying to chew/play with the various USB charging cords around the house) and I think my daughter will like the piggy bank (now guess she will be looking for me to give her the rest of my Home Depot pennies......

Watch yourself - Hyattsville is another neighborhood where you will need to be aware of your surroundings. Spent a lot of time there in my younger days driving a tow truck, as a police officer, and as an investigator - not real bad, but getting there........

The Manchester, CT store has many blades left in the display still -- it was more full than empty. I grabbed 2 metal and 5 wood blades!

Hmm I probably won't bother going then since you just went. The lady at SCO was clueless yesterday. Either that or she didn't care. I wonder if they got rid of the cables now. I bet they are still there...

Did they still have the diablo blades at the Rhode Island store?

I am sure that the cables are long gone by now. One of the attendants grabbed my cart and took off with same. When I asked the MOD to hold them until I talked with Corporate she said she would - but I am willing to bet they will not be seen again - at least not by any customers. I also overheard her tell someone to go back and check the area for others. And I had the rest of the HDMI - Mini HDMI cables in my cart.

Didn't look for the blades at Rhode Island as I was not in the mood after the incident with the cables. Given the amount of trade workers that go in and out of that store, imagine that they may have gone quickly. Not sure if you saw the gathering of migrant workers outside the store. In this area there is usually a large gathering of latinos looking for work and it appears that Home Deport is a routine gathering spot - there is another in the Hyattsville area. When I drove my pick-up to work, I would stop at a gas station next to the gathering place. Wasn't unusual for two or three to approach me looking for work, despite the fact that I looked much more like an Immigration Officer than a construction worker (had a badge, suit, and all of the accessories).

Was going to look for the garage door opener you mentioned but didn't do that either.

In case you were wondering - I went to Rhode Island Ave, Hyattsville, College Park, Silver Spring, Capital Heights and Upper Marlboro. However, my checks were just cursorary - I do not use the computers, nor do I make it a habit of searching the tool rafters given the lack of discounts. So you may find a little or a lot that I could have missed. Out of the 6 stores I visited, only found items at two. Things are getting cleaned up quickly and the clearance areas are either drying up or most of the remaining items are dying of old age.

Thanks, I don't think I will bother. I can't really bring back much else anyway with the cables I already have haha.

What are the details on the exhaust fans?

If you find anything worthwhile, you can pay for ground shipping to send it home.. I know Lowes charges $5.99, don't know about Home Depot.

I suppose I could. I should probably browse the city rather than HD haha.

They are Nutone bathroom exhaust fans that I purchased circa January 2015 that someone had previously posted on Slickdeals (prior to my becoming aware of GJ). Nice fans - are very quiet and have a light. Unfortunately they are currently in my garage attic - as I am trying to amass some items for the next house/garage I am planning now that I am temporarily retired (need to go back to work - otherwise I might be found dead in the rafters of Home Depot. Lord knows the employees will never find my dead carcass there...) otherwise I would provide more info. Sorry
