... I was not allowed to purchase the cables. I had 15 in my cart and after scanning the 6th cable the "See Attendant" screen came up. She cleared it and I went back to scanning but the screen came up again. Attendant finally realized that I was scanning penny items and said that she could not sell them. Had her call the Manager on Duty (MOD) to see if they could help but the MOD refused to selll them to me. We discussed the merits of the corporate policy, but the MOD would not budge.

There's a difference between me and most people. I always take only what I need, and I leave the rest behind for other people. When checking out I'll take my 5 items, put in a nickel, and be out the door before anyone knows what happened.

If you're greedy, the computer is going to stop you on the 6th item. If you're lucky enough to have the cashier clear the warning, and you're so greedy that you keep scanning penny items, you'll get stopped again.

There is a lesson to be learned here -- don't let your own greed get in the way of your own success.

Ended up going. Found more hdmi cables and some component cords at penny but they wouldn't sell them... Didn't really care. They also had 2 of the bostitch manual floor nailers that are no longer found in the system so they would likely not sell anyway or they would at last clearance.... (Had an associate look up the SKU) The F28ww is on clearance here as well for $55 but didn't see any on hand.

Got the blades though, only 3 of each though.

Sorry. Hyattsville, MD. Could maybe return/rebuy from a nearby store. I know the Rhode Island Ave store has them full price.

That's a nice nailer. I'd be after that if I didn't already buy a Hitachi 21 degree nailer from Lowes 2 months ago

Surprisingly I was able to scan all 10 yesterday with no message. Cashier was on the ball today though and the manager was a ***** as she stormed off with my cart. I said you better go grab the others off the shelf then and she was like yup, that's a good idea in an angry voice. It was worth the trip just for that.

That is probably the only large thing I would have bought to bring back home. They didn't appear to have any though...

Got booted for using the computer today. Told him about the receipt survey and he said he doesn't know why the ask. Went down and used one by the lumber with no issues.

Fill me in, what's up with using the store computers and finding these deals?

I don't like the 28 degree nailer. Damn bostitch always trying to make proprietary things. Same with the FN nails.

Basics: find store computer, go to price check app, search keywords/brands/SKU, go to refine, go to clearance, go back to results.

SPN, where is that link you were supposed to put in your sig?

I like the Bostitch F28WW better than my Paslode F350S.

Would have got one for $55 of i could have found the damn thing... Not sure why they would ever be on clearance. That is one of HDs top models, if not the top.

I also noticed at this store that the Milwaukee meters were not in the app so maybe they are penny? Hard telling when I don't know if they ever showed up in the first place.

Hey coralnut, on another note, I assume you know a bit about coral and saltwater fish maintenance. Is that true? If so, I could use some advice. PM me if so.

I found on of the Bosch laser measures for $25.03 yesterday and another of the bath refresh kits for a penny. The 3/4 hp Chamberlain WiFi door opener was marked down to $62.02. I also found the following light bulbs for a penny a box:

SKU
672 715 20 watt 24" T12 bulbs (10 pack)
255 344 32 watt 48" T8 bulbs (30 pack)
166 763 Feit 45 watt R20 incandescent flood light bulb (12 pack)
938 238 32 watt 48" T8 bulbs (10 pack)

The self checkout attendant wanted to argue about the bulbs, but after she called the manager they just decided to give them to me.

They are a waste. The more connections in a signal the more chance for loss.

True. I can't wait to use those in wall cable kits I got for a penny! Hopefully the 6' HDMI cables I just got are long enough as well. If all works out, I could have my entire TV set up for like $.05 :rocker:

Does the in store price check app allow searching inventory at other stores? At the register an employee pulled up some "local area" search, but that is hit or miss. It seems a lot usually rely on the website, which isn't always accurate for clearance stuff.

It does show inventory at nearby stores, but it is not accurate. You'll see it when you click on a product, on the product details page, it will show on the right side

I just snagged one of the 26" husky tops. I also placed an in store order for 10 of the 3/4 horsepower chamberlain openers. Their inventory showed 11 in stock at the 62 price. I walked every aisle and couldn't find them so they have a manager trying to locate them and let me go ahead and pay to reserve them if found.

You going to try selling them? I had thought about selling them but they would be costly to ship...

All 10? lol

I wonder what the chances are that they will actually "find" them for you.

Manager is loading them in the back of his truck as we speak lol..

Either that or is noting where they are actually located and waiting for them to drop to a penny all while he is calling you to tell you he couldn't find them.

Lol, That's why I looked for them first.

I'm going to sell them to family and coworkers at the purchase price.
Yeah but you aren't allowed to look in the break room or the managers trunk where they already are [emoji12]

Between 2 stores near me that show stock (4 at one, 9 at the other), none can be found. Either really ****** inventory control or someone's getting shady... I've walked both stores completely and can't find any.

The door/window or millwork employees (where the openers are stocked) seem pretty nonchalant about missing inventory. "We haven't been able to find those." Or "Those were a special, we haven't had those in a long time." ********...

I found my 2 at the top shelf above the others on the floor. They also had some at end caps near the area. This was at a store that I was stalking for a couple weeks that I knew had 1 and the computer showed 1, but the mill works guy said he couldn't find it. So take no prisoners - turn that store upside down (go in the back closed off area where it's usually employees only). They should have theft prevention installed, so it's not like someone is just going to walk out with 1 or 9 very easily. GL!

Yeah another store I might go to lists 2 in stock but who really knows. Again its not something I really need but it would be nice to know if my doors are closed at night instead of having to walk outside to check.

I went to a store saying they had 3 of the 52" tool chests. Couldn't find any of them myself, so I asked them to look. How do you lose 3 $600 tool chests?

Try to peek into receiving. Guarantee you they're in there

Also, I've seen tool boxes in the upper rafters in Lawn and Garden outside, so check there also.

What area? My dad just went to a store that was showing 3 on Monday. They said their inventory was off.
