ex homedepot employee here. Store policy is once items drop to under $0.10 it is supposed to be marked completely down to $0 in the store system (inventory) and thrown in the compactor and NOT ALLOWED TO BE SOLD TO ANY CUSTOMER (can be fired if caught)...yeah i know it *****, I have literally thrown out thousands of dollars worth of products unwillingly. The game is to catch the stuff just before it hits that point, all of the department heads get a list of what products gets clearanced and will be heading for the bin.

Also not many people know, the yellow ladders are for anyone (customers) to use.

that *****. i hope you werent throwing any tools away.

Stopped this evening on the way home, and got ten of the metal-cutting blades, and they still had about 30 left. None of the wood-cutting blades though.

The Bessey suction-cup vises are back up to $29... stupid. Bought one a few weeks ago for $9, and another one about a week ago for $7.53, I'd never buy one for $30. And seeing the small Bessey clamps above just reminded me... I bought about a dozen of them about two weeks or so ago for 50 cents each.

@drwheels, yeah they will sometimes do the basket gift to get people to sign up for a cards. knock on wood I never had to throw out tools, but pretty much anything else I have crushed. Including a full size (like 4x10) beveled granite Island display counter top that I wished i could have taken home/ given to somebody. Nope sledgehammered....broke my heart.

If anyone happens to have an extra clamp meter and wants to trade for a non-clamp meter, feel free to PM me.

Thanks.

Let us know what happens.

I find it difficult to pay for penny item in Texas. They have the "see attendant" when penny comes up. Then the attendant give you attitude saying they're not allowed to sell that. I know this has been discussed over and over but I am tire of reasoning so I let it goes...the item probably followed them home.

No luck finding either garage opener yesterday.

I have 7 meters and 2 clamps. If anyone needs one that hasn't been able to find one, send me a PM. (non-profit) Unfortunately, I don't need much to trade for..

Unfortunately, they're going for like $45 on ebay for the multimeters so it would only save you like $5..

The meters that I saw stashed in the OH at my local store disappeared. I never saw them go on the shelf. Maybe another sleuth GJ member got them.

Sounds like you have used the tape before

BUT for those that haven't,

It is junk. I bought a couple packs and found it basically has very little stick/glue on it. Taped paper to a window and it would not stay, lol. It will be going back and replaced with 3m tape.

I bought 2 sets of those at that price about a month ago. They were still on their original shipping pallets in the rafters. Awesome boxes for the price.

Also, on top of that, tape should have an expiration date. I know when I worked at Uhaul a long time ago, all of their tape, on the inside of the cardboard roll, had a code like "3Q14" 3rd quarter 2014.

It's probably garbage tape to begin with, but even more so if it's expired.

I dunno, I feel like there are uses for cheap tape even if it doesnt stick that well.

I just bought a roll of the HDX painters tape to mask off the wheels for my car while I clearcoated areas that needed to be polished.

Would I use the HDX tape on a wall to make perfect lines? No. Would I use it for something that didnt require much precision? Absolutely.

I found a bathroom faucet in the clearance section with a yellow tag on its 1st price drop. The yellow price tag had a May 2015 date on it. I went to self-checkout and I scanned the yellow tag and it says wait for an associate. I went to another machine and scanned the package's regular UPC barcode and it came up for more than the price tag says. I didnt look too hard but I didnt see the item on the PRICE CHECK app.

Can somebody explain what happened here? I put the item back.

The blue painters tape is supposed to have very little stickiness, so that it does not damage the paint when you remove it. Definitely not the right tape for taping paper to a window. If you use the right tape it will work much better, but tape that works as designed is not "junk", IMHO.

I agree with what you're saying, but I bought some blue painters tape from the discount store up the road from me last year (all they sell is very cheap Chinese ****). **** wouldn't even stay on the wall. Threw it out and got some Frog Tape.

If it sticks to the wall, it's doing it's job. But yeah, it's not meant to be very sticky and be able to hold stuff up.
