Does anyone run the stores in Colorado? Heading up that way in a couple of weeks and would like to check a few. Looks like between denver and colorado springs there are a good 20 stores.

Be careful with those component cables, they look awfully beefy and might run into the Monster cable problem...basically the cable is soo strong that it will literally break the input/output on the device, especially when removing the cable or having it pulled/pushed laterally(which can happen if you move something trying to gain access to rear of your electronics). I actually see it more often than you'd expect.

This might be a silly question but how does one find the penny deals at the local store? I can't seem to find them online and I don't believe I remember seeing a kiosk at the stores near me.

Don't feel bad, I can't find the kiosks either.

Back in the good ole days, I usually stumbled upon my penny deal. Now there is an official GJ thread: how-to-find a penny deal in the forum

I just search "penny items" on the home depot website. They come with free shipping too. YMMV

Had some of those component cables last week for a penny that they wouldn't sell me.

Grizzlyjmg, look for those Klein lights when you go to the Rhode Island Ave store next week.

Just got a Dremel 4200 4/36 kit for $20.

Was $120, price matched Lowes for $99 plus an extra 10%, used my $60 worth of gift cards from the Menards price match.

Now off to Lowes to get the Hitachi bit kit for it for $15

Penny items are 99% luck. Don't plan on walking in and finding any or driving all day to stores to get them or you will be disappointed.

The Husky 26" wide black out base 4-drawer cabinet (1000-026-200) and top 5-drawer chest (1000-026-196) are both a penny now. Picked up one of each.

Figured they would go to a penny. Guy at Home Depot told me last week, I think they should be a penny. He went to double check, if so he would let me keep them, but they weren't a penny yet.

Finally scored my first penny item: the Klein fish rod tip. Was on the table of discounted items my store puts out every so often.

5 per package - Nice Gloves, light weight good dexterity, Black

Went shopping on Friday, but due to the fact that my daughter had an afternoon Doctor's appointment, was not able to go far, or for long. As such, checked out one of my local Maryland stores, a couple of Virginia stores, and the one store in DC. Well, as many of you may have noticed in your stores, the inventory and cleanup has made it a little bit harder to actually find a bargain or two.

Went looking for some more of the Klein Illuminated Fish Rod Tips after posting earlier in the week that they had been reduced to a penny, only to find that most stores no longer had any (not sure if that was the work of the MET Team, or other GJB members). However, I was able to find 4 of them at the DC store (they were moved from the electronics section to the clearance area). Also found some more flourescent light bulbs for a penny at one of the VA stores (this now makes a total of 10 boxes - more than enough to light up the diamond plate shop lights I got from HD - I have both the 2 light silver, and 3 light black).

As for the Bessy Clamps, they were found in the DC store - 06GMC5.3L made me aware of same when he came and visited the DC area. Unfortunately, the amount he saw was no longer available (they must have saw the ones he bought and went looking - this is the same store that refused to sell him or I HDMI and Composite cables). Did however, find the 8 shown over in the clamp area - they were all over the place, not neatly stacked, so it looks as if they were basically thrown there. As for the composite cables, found those in one of the VA stores, nothing else, with the exception of painters tape nothing else looked inviting in the DC store.

However, the best bargain of the day was the one I got on the Gorilla Grip 5 pack of gloves. I have been looking for them ever since they were posted by Winter on 13 September (see the picture he posted below). In his posting he stated he found them for $2.59 (originally $10 a pack) and I have been looking for them high and low ever since. I was completing my search at the store located off of Little River Turnpike and I just about walked into a "new" Gorilla Glove display that was not there the previous week. I walked over to same and noted that it was almost completely full of the Gorilla Grip 5 pack of gloves posted by Winter. I thought for a minute and wondered if they would be a penny given the amount of time that they had been sitting. So I grab a pack and make my way to the SCO, and low and behold they scan a penny. So - the question is would I be able to buy them or not. So I take one box off the display (it had 36 packs in it) and take it to the SCO and begin to scan them. Attendant is watching but makes no move to stop me or even check to see what I am scanning. Get done, use my gift card to pay (much easier than coins, bills, or credit cards) and walk out to my car. Go back in and pick up the other box on the display. It has 32 packs of gloves in it. Go back and again scan them without issue at the SCO. So at the end of it all I got 67 packs of gloves for .70 including tax.

Now before you call me greedy - the gloves already have a place to go. My daughter, who is a brain cancer survivor (she was first diagnosed at age 10 - she is now 23 years of age) goes to a facility that works to integrate the handicapped into the working world. Most of the jobs are in the service organizations (janitorial, food service, horticultural), but the individuals are very happy to work, and they are some of the best employees around (tend not to complain, are on time, and enjoy being useful - maybe Obama should take note). Given the nature of the jobs that these folks work, figure the gloves can go a long way to help. So they will be dropped off shortly and used by some of the best folks in the world.

Found they clearanced group 90 batteries at my local store. $24.95 from $90 something. Might be worth checking at your locals stores. All three that were on the rack were gone here so I didn't get one.

Nice haul! Too bad about the clamps. At least you got a few.
