did that just change today? yesterday they were still $149 around here.

I got one earlier this year for $169 -10% and love it.
The only downfall is.. it's too small for any continuous flow tools (drilling for any decent amount of time, sanders, larger impact guns), so I still need to get a decent 20+ gallon.

It's also a little bulky to carry around, but i'm sure it's easier to lug around than standard 6 gallon pancakes.

The noise level really isn't bad on these.

Im looking to reinsulate my attic soon and wanted to staple in baffles to keep insulation out of the soffits. Air stapler is a perfect use for a small compressor like this, Im definitely going to my local stores to see if the price is changed and I can grab one.

Anyone know if this compressor will handle framing nailers? I would assume so, but I'm not an expert with the whole volume/CFM rating stuff.

Most likely would. CFM and Tank Size aren't big issues with nail guns, since they're not expending air continuously, unless you have a very fast pace. As long as it meets the PSI requirements of the nailer you're using you should be fine. May have to wait for a recharge now and then if you have a fast pace.

Just changed this morning. Previously $149.

Please forgive me, I'm new and have been reading, but haven't got through all the pages yet.

Is it only the yellow tagged items that end in .x3 or .x2 that are eventually discounted to .01? I saw a few items that ended in .X2 and .x3 today, that still had the reg white tag on them. Just curious if I could do a quick walk through looking for yellow tags vs looking at all prices?

Also, I saw the same boxes as Ravensfusion and they are still $69 and $99 here (AL) as well. Had an attendant check with his hand held scanner below toting one to the front.

.00 goes to .06/.04 which then goes to .03/.02 and finally ends up at .01

Yellow tags are your best bet. Sometimes employees are lazy and there are white tags on clearance items but...

.04 and .02 prices penny out as well.

just curious - if Penny items are customer's to keep, are we 100% sure the ones that don't scan any longer are not?

I know it's hard to argue over one with no price but I wonder if there is a corporate policy in regards to this

I know it's hard to argue over that one because there is no price but I wonder if there is a corporate policy in regards to this

Per what corporate told me.. penny items we get to keep, but stuff that doesn't scan at all, corporate WILL NOT help you with.

It's the manager's decision on what happens when you run across one of those. If he lets you keep it, great. If not, there's no course of action you can take to argue it. If he doesn't want to give it to you free, offer him something low like $20 on the generic SKU.

If he wants to be a **** he'll charge you full price

I guess it's better to take chances then just leave it and walk away

I tried purchasing batteries which were a penny the day before but **** wanted full price for those.

I found a Ryobi bench grinder down in Atlanta that didn't scan, manager told me "Happy Birthday"

Found some expensive mosquito trap things in Seabrook NH, they tried charging me full price. Went back the next week and a different manager said "Merry Christmas".

Found a Milwaukee heated jacket (last year's model) in Londonderry NH (I think), they wanted to charge me full price for a "similar model". That's when I called corporate, and they wouldn't help me because it wasn't in their system.

I should have pushed harder on the faucet the other night. Maybe I'll try again if it's still there next time I go.

I guess my real question was is the white tag ("reg") items ending in $.02, $.03, $.04 actually discounted like the yellow tagged ("clearance") items or are there actually regular priced items that end in those numbers and I should leave those alone if I am looking for a "deal"?

Sounds like a big maybe. I'll stick with looking for the yellow tagged items.

I did pick up a few smaller items around $1 that ended in .03 and had a date of 6/15/15, rang up at marked price. Just testing the waters.

Yellow tag only. Don't scan the tag either, look for the Barcode on the item and scan that.

I have a guy at a local store that is really cool. He wants me to meet someone on the MET team and they will actually be able to give me some more insight to when the mark downs occur or how to forecast. There is someone who does this for a living in my area and knows more then the MET folks do. He cleared everything out today that dropped.

I've only seen one red tag on a Klein multimeter.

Could be high theft -

Ive seen them on small relatively expensive items (multimeter as listed above) and larger easy to walk out with items (Milwaukee tools in cases with the handles exposed instead of completely wrapped in a carboard box)

well what happened is.. they had 4 in stock, 3 piled on the floor by the clearance rack, and 1 up high on the top shelf on the clearance rack. They got rid of the 3 on the floor (or the employees took them home, whatever) but they forgot the one up high

Just a quick heads up, there are some normal stock items (not on clearance) that end in 2, 3, 4, and 6.. Check the collated nails, such as Dewalt. I thought they were on clearance, but it's normal price. This is a rare case though.

Got ya. Yea the first thing I even noticed that ended in $.X3 was a Milwaukee bit, I think it was around $5, but passed on it in search of the yellow clearance tags.

Also, I just went back and read my post, and just to be clear the stuff I picked up was on a clearance rack in the middle on an isle with yellow tags. They rang up at the clearance price that was marked on the clearance tag.

Edit: drecu4x4, thank you for the quick responses.

Went in the local HD last night and the Milwaukee psrts tra organizers were reduced from $25, to $19. They had two left, exactly how many I needed for my hardware rack project.

Then I found one M12 driver/impact kit left, and it was reduced to $59. Figured I'd keep the two batteries and sell the driver, impact, charger and contractor's bag. Making the batteries, free!

There is a bunch of them at my local stores. I'm assuming they aren't on clearance at all stores?

What were they marked at before military discount?

Also, how in the world was an $.06 tagged item a penny!?!

The employees are lazy. They don't change the stickers. A lot of times, I think they do that on purpose because they are trying to make sure nobody buys it, so they can take it for theirselves or for friends

For those of you in the Atlanta area, Roswell and Austell both have the Ridgid compressor but it is $149. Other nearby stores have it at the clearance price but show zero in stock. I am 100% convinced that the price reduction cadence is based on inventory levels.

I don't NEED one, but can't help looking as I like that design much better than my porter cable pancake.

Did you look it up on the in store computer or was it a shot in the dark it was discounted past the ***.06?

I tried and it didn't come up in the price check app.

Date on sticker was a good indication IMO.

That was the reason I took it to the self check out, muted the price check and then added it to the cart to pay.
