Hit up a few Home Depots yesterday picked up 4 grills for $50 a piece and found 2 husky 26 inch black black drawer cabinets for a penny manager was pissed and refused to sell them to me so I offered to buy them at the 45.03 price he said okay and continued to question me on how I found them all while implying that it was an inside job and an employee had probably had told me where to find the cabinets.

You need to call corporate and tell them and they will refund you the difference. Policy is that they have to sell them to you for a .01 Most places will just give them away at that point.

Its all good 45.03 is great price for the cabinets don't get me wrong i prefer the penny deal but i prefer to not deal with corporate i was more annoyed by the manager than i was about the price he even came outside the store to watch us load the cabinets.

never seen them at Home Depot.
Now I'm curious if this scanner shows $0.01
I have scanned penny items at the price checkers in the isles, if the item is a penny it shows a penny.

Dealing with corporate HD is easier than any business I've ever seen and they bend over backwards to take care of you. Your choice but I would have certainly taken them for a penny vs $90.

The whole house surge protector was down to $10.03 or $13.03 (forget)

Picked up 2 18" LED strip lights for my workbench. They only had 1 12", 2 18", or 1 24", so I went with the 2 18's.
They also had fluorescent strips right next to them at the .03 level, didn't take pics

The 2 18" LED strips light up my workbench nice. It was in a dark corner and I needed some extra lighting

You should buy that penny item and save the sticker and receipt, so when they pull that bull **** and say they can't sell penny items then you show them the receipt with the sticker attached to it.

I'm gonna hold off on the Ridgid compressor too. Lets see how low it goes.

If you want to do that, I would just keep a picture on my phone.
With a sticker in your pocket someone might try to accuse you bringing it to the store to switch price tags.

Anyone have an approximate date of when the 1001002481 and 482 chests dropped to .03? Just trying to fill in the spreadsheet.

True. I thought then adding to cart would avoid the please wait for assistant message, but no. It pops up anyway.
I had an interesting experience once when scanning the item for purchase triggered see attendant message but the price check and add to card worked. it was the same store the same time I just moved from one register to another. I'm pretty sure I scanned the same barcode both times and I don't think registers are programmed differently

Picked this up for a penny, old lady gave me hell saying it's wrong and that I'd have to pay the price on the tag. But I had already put a penny in and had and showed her the receipt saying it was a penny and I had already paid. She called the manager lady over and said to the old one that it was an item that was suppose to be pulled, but since he already paid for it, that it's he. She grumpily with a snark on her face gave it to me and said have a nice day.. CDA idaho

I wish I understood this. I read most of the thread and armed with info I went to 2 different stores and took an armload of stuff all marked **.03 to SCO. Some had dates that went back to 05/15 that still came up as the price marked (I didn't scan the stickers) I see other people post stuff that went to .01 with dates from 6/15 and 7/15. Even if the dates on the stickers was the original markdown, shouldn't stuff from 5/15 be marked down to .01 by now??

Not all the time. I have seen stuff two years old not penny out. Skilsaw reg $199 dropped to $140. It had been $160 for a month or more.

I would think that there would have to be a pattern or a system, right? Stores are not individually owned and I don't think they can just do whatever the heck they want. Another think that doesn't make sense is that some stores will have items at .01 and other stores have the same item that is at **.03 or even **.06

I'm an IT guy and I like things to make sense. Obviously the items that go to .01 are done so automatically for a reason. I understand that the .01 items are to be pulled but still it's strange as from an accounting or inventory point of view.

May I ask a question if I might? I am wondering how people are working the query system in the home depot computer to see sale items, all that shows up for me is all items lowest to highest in price starting at 1c. After tranversing maybe 100 pages I finally got to like $2.00 ish in price and seems very tedious. Is there anything I can do to narrow the search down?

P.S. I did try using the price slider but the only option I got was a min. of $227.00 to start at.

The employees are to pull the stuff but don't have time to do it.It really is a crazy deal from store to store.

Use the "refine results" button at the top.

Also, search for brands, keywords etc. Then when you hit refine results you will see "clearance" at the bottom. Then hit back to results.

just checked two more stores and no chain saw....should I be updated the spreadsheet if I don't find anything?

If you don't find anything I don't think I would worry about it. If you found it but didn't buy it then I would update as such. Or maybe if the App showed stock but you couldn't find it then I would update the sheet and add a note with an explanation.

Help!

These guys are a penny but how do I pull it off! Need a fork lift! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1444755493.632469.jpg

LOL. Get someone to take them down and convince them they don't have to scan them. Only issue I have found is that there is like one person in the entire Northeast that has a HD forklift license...

He just happened to be "right there" when I needed my two toolboxes last week. I was figuring it would be a 30+ minute wait just to find the guy but they had the pallet down and into my truck in 10.

The barcode on the yellow sticker doesn't even scan in the register. So to be accused of "swapping tags" would be ridiculous.

^ ^ ^ Is the penny price on the 3-Tier Cedar . . . . . . sku comes up different on HD site ??

I'd get a flat cart and just fill it up . . . one item at a time. Use "customer" yellow ladder !! ;)
