I have a set I am keeping an eye on... Hopefully dropping this week. Debating on going tomorrow after work or waiting till Tuesday. What would you guys do? I guess if it's going to happen, doesn't matter if I go right after the price drops or a day later if they don't remove it.

It no longer showed up in the system, at all. Manager came over, double checked, and said "Merry Christmas". It was apparently a special buy from July of 2014

I have one I am keeping an eye on also. Do prices drop or change on the weekend?

I just returned from the local home depot. Found various items for a penny. Unfortunately the store showed 0 on hand quantity for all items. Are you guys actually finding quantities on hand locally? Find it hard to believe, you guys seem to hit home runs daily.

I have only two good hits in the last week both pb500t leaf blowers other than that it's just small stuff I want ot friends are looking for

I usually check 2-3 store daily. My wife hates it. But I also usually find several deals each week.

Yesterday and today's find. I usually only find one item not quantities. Two cent spent.

What was it showing in store/online as far as stock/price tag do you remember? I've been on the hunt for the 34"/33" combo with no luck. I'd even pay the ~$60 others have posted for it.

For example on the 34" bottom: Store 1 shows zero in stock on website, but is actually available in Store 1, but shows $249 price tag on it.

The store I got it from show 0 in stock, it did not even show up in the price check app. I have checked other stores that I have seen them at they showed regular price.

What I understand, clearance tags print Monday and prices are updated once employee scans tag and updates it.

Just saw several husky 42" toolchests on top shelf in grand rapids mi. They showed full price on store puter...so not sure their price status. Looked like ready to be shipped out on pallet. Hopefully someone can use that info. Didn't see anything else. Love the spreadsheet, big thx.

Can anyone tell me about this item 130 559? Is a Moen faucet. I would not show up in the price check app at all. It rang up full price $89.99. Why would it not show up in the price check app? I have a another Husky tool box 763 809 that was on the very top shelf and Saran Wrapped. It also did not show up in the computer.

Corrected the Faucet Sku, maybe that is why I could not find it.

Did you try searching that SKU 3 or 4 times? Sometimes it takes a few tries for it to display anything

That's because they are loading up for Black Friday. Just saw a store that had none in stock now they have the 42 and the new 52 in stock both for 498.00

question - how often do you get 800 number rep who doesn't know the policy on penny items?
I had to call 800 number today ~~ 6 times. 2-3 people said there is no such policy and penny items are not mine. two people did not know the policy but looked it up and confirmed it. and only two people knew the policy.

is this because today is Sunday or it is like this everyday?

believe it or not but i called 4 times about the same item from the same store and I walked out to without the item. I may share the details later it's just too much to go over and I'm not sure anybody wants to read it

I have called on Sunday, have not had any issues. You should have told them (the Store) that you needed the item let them put a price on it and purchased it. Call corporate first thing Monday morning. They would have refunded you the full amount. At least that is what I did. It worked for me.

I've never had a problem. But I always start the conversation with "as far as I'm aware, the policy is if the customer finds an item that rings up as a penny, they get to buy it for a penny"

I wanted to do it but they wanted $250 and told me its not refundable. I didn't know if that's true or not with generic SKU they wanted to use.
According to 800 rep the manager told her this item scans at 250.. and I want to price match to a penny other stores may have it at. I asked the agent to call a department like a paint department, give employee SKU number and have employee read the price to confirm that the manager is a lying b****
The agent did not want to do it. I turned on the speaker phone and asked the manager why did she lie to an agent when she I and all the people around her know it scans at a penny. The manager did not know speaker phone was on and said "I did not tell her that". I switched off speaker phone and asked the agent if she heard what manager just said. The agent said "I heard someone said that but I don't know who it was"
it was ugly and the above isn't even half of it
from what I'm reading on this Forum and what I'm seeing - some of you guys must live in much better (friendlier) areas

Watch out. The manager may accuse you of going into an "unauthorized area" such as a "crawlspace" to get the item. Then they will repeat that lie to Customer Care, who then will do absolutely nothing for you.

The rare occasion I find an item I know will be a penny I always go to sco.

I will wait until the sco lady is busy doing something else or helping another customer check out. I have wasted time before walking around waiting for the right time. It is just less headache to check out that way.

The items I purchased today were out of the box so I did not have a choice

on a side note - I wonder if calls get forwarded to different call centers based on where the call is originated from. this could explain why I get so many clueless reps. if that is the case I'll get myself a Google number with New Hampshire area code [emoji6]

I read someone here try to buy hdmi cables and was accused of that. Can't remember who it was (or maybe it was you :D) but now I take pics. Idk if this would help my case. Took pics of these openers just in case. Had no problems though. Check it out..

That was me lol. That's a good idea to take pictures before checking out. You can bet I will do that from now on.

That's works but most of my penny items have been rather large. So the SCO has to scan them. Only once have they not said anything.

So, you think you're slick, huh? You know you went up into the crawl space, pulled that thing down, then rearranged the floor space for the pic. Nice try though. :p

Ditto I wait until they start scanning people's stuff then I get the next SCO. The best is older people who don't know how to use the scanner. They tend to hold up the cashiers time. Or you can always go with a friend they can buy some stuff and ask for help then you go and scan the penny stuff. But that would be to devious and not my thing.

The racks above are on the selling floor and items are subject to being sold.

I guess I'm glad I live in a state where the store can get fined for selling you an item at a price that is higher than it rings up for or the price tag/shelf price. Once it rings up, the manager is much less likely to try and fight you.

Not according to the old grouch of manager I dealt with. She said it's where they put RTV items. Then she managed to convince Customer Care of it. We all know that's not the truth, but I didn't get my penny items that day.

Picked up 2 of the Ego 56V chainsaws, $75.03 each. Not sure they would have made it to a penny although 1 of them was pretty hidden. (side note: anyone want to trade a cordless for a gas chainsaw?)

Confirmed the Husky 34" bottom and 33" top boxes are on clearance for $60 and $40 respectively

Added a penny item to the sheet: Husky 1400w halogen work light. Couldnt find any in the stores I checked, but figured Id throw it out there if anyone was looking.

Probably hit 10 home depots over the weekend and only got the hoover max extractor 60 for 53$. Another store had the echo blower and 330 saw in stock but the staff was less than helpful locating and I could not for the life of me find them. It seems like a lot of old timers were brought on for the holiday season and they spend their time right now cleaning and rearranging the store making deals harder to come by. They also have no interest in climbing ladders helping you look at pallets you can't see from the floor.

For anyone that is interested one of the Ariston 4 gal water heaters is in stock in phillipsburg, nj. Don't need it at all so I left it.
