Yea, I know but all the stores around here literally were just inventoried. And a lot of the clearance stuff on here seems to drop a few months after the rest of the country (In NJ). NH, TX, and CA seem to drop first based on reliable posters.
I tried convincing them the display model (new model) was the old one and they should sell me that. I even had the Rigid vendor on my side. They said they couldn't.
The vendor also informed me of something that might be of interest I haven't heard here before. The clearance level of the item is based on percentage of original pricing. So once on clearance everyday on the value drops for ex. 1/2% per day until it reaches 75% then it goes .06 status. It supposedly gets reset at that point to a different percent of the value typically lower, 1/4%. Everyday it drops until it reaches 25% then .03 status. Same thing again till penny status then they throw out. He could not inform me how the percentages were figured out. If they were based on make, department, sell rate, etc... Interesting thought though to try and predict drops. If we monitor original to clearance (.06), figure out the %, then monitor time and figure percentage for .03 status maybe we can closely predict penny status?
