Found one price pfister ashfield single handle vessle faucet. ..rang up as see associate...couldnt locate price or anyone from plumbing to help. Had to leave since i was on lunch break..does anyone have a sku for this? Also seen a cart in the back with sign saying found during shelf diving with looked like old dusty items that were missing pieces for all..

When you are using self checkout, make sure to scan the UPC on the item/box itself, NOT the yellow clearance tag if there is one. Seems the barcode on the clearance tag triggers the "see associate" message.

yea not on Tapatalk.. I find Tapatalk to be annoying to use on my phone. I only use it to post pictures, since I can't post pictures to GJ from my iPhone for some reason (keeps closing Safari)

Thats exactly what i use it for. Back when you had to pay $0.99 for it, it was awesome! Now they updated it and made it free, and its junk.

Look at the spreadsheet, if it's the 8" widespread, it's listed on there.

Sometimes things are removed completely from their system and at that point they stop ringing up a penny and begin to just trigger the see associate message.

I ended up with 2 blowers, one is PB-500 and the other one is PB-500T. PB-500 seems to be PB-500H (according to pics on hd.com) Both were outside, under the sun, rain and may be snow

It looks like both are missing all pipes. 500T is also missing the carburetor, filter and filter cap.

Do you guys thing echo will ship the items missing for 500T?

Also, if anyone has an extra receipt, I'd appreciate it. I have one receipt for T and need one for H, but I don't know if echo can tell from HD receipt which model I have so I could try to use another T receipt.

Thanks.

P.S. I posted earlier my experience with one store. There were more and more lies, but at the end I ended up getting the blower (the T one that misses the carburetor :( )

You could also go back to the store and see if they will help you since they are supposed to sell it in working condition.

I think the T and H receipts will be the same. Plus if the question there is no way you can control what the used when they sold it, the receipt is what you got.

These were "as-is" outside units and these stores won't help at all. They even told me I can't return it when I was considering paying "last clearance" or "green sticker" price. Contacting echo is my only hope.

I haven't been following THAT closely but I don't think this has been mentioned. Also, NOT a penny deal so tune out if you only want pennies.

The Ryobi 40V 13" string trimmer kit is down to $109 in some stores. Sorry, I don't have any numbers for you. This is the "lesser" model which is actually BETTER than the Expand-It capable model; I have explained my reasoning on why it's better in string trimmer threads in General Tool previously.

I have this trimmer and love it. It's arguably worth $109 for the 40V battery which retails for $99. I'm almost considering one to have a 4th battery for my Ryobi 40V chainsaw, but going to hold off.

Normal retail on the string trimmer kit was $139-149.

I was looking for the chainsaw myself, but could never find it. I DID find Ego 56V saw for 75 so I have that now instead.

Since I dont have/need any other cordless lawn tools, doesnt matter too much what system I bought into. Although Ryobi having a wider selection gives it an advantage, if I could just find the chainsaw (the one I actually want/need)

:lol_hitti yea I always use the card, but now they are using the chip on the credit cards instead of the magnetic swipe. And it takes a long time to process the payment with the chip Credit Cards giving the cashier more time to notice your penny deal.:shocking:

Spent an hour and half looking for these two sets. Nothing

What store, I checked most of south NJ today with no luck, Thought about picking up the 2407-22, couldn't find the 2407-22B. but the ones in the stores I checked where still full price and no bonus Hex impact tool like the ad on google claims. I guess it was last years black Friday deal  Might end up waiting to see what they offer this year.

At least I learned I can use the computer at the local store. Deptford's customer computer only connected to homedepot.com and they had to use a handheld to check inventory. Is there a way I can check other stores from the computer without knowing the store number? I tired using the store number for Deptford when I was at the first one but it kept giving an error message. I should have taken the spread sheet with me but forgot.

Went looking for deals today and very little to be found. Started at Waterford store, inventory showed 1 of the blowers still. So 2 of them were found or inventory changed since last time I was there. Store was very clean on clearance items though. Looked like they were doing inventory. Went to east haven next, they had a cs330 chainsaw on display that was missing half the parts and was still ringing up at 199. Went to orange as I was told they had saws. None to be found there, but I got a pressure washer. Inventory showed 3 but only 1 to be found. Employees didn't even know this one was on shelf. Also looked like they were doing inventory. Ended night by going to north haven. Nothing there either.

If anyone in CT has a cs330 they'd like to sell or one or two of the blowers please let me know. I'm interested in them for me and a friend.

Wow great thread. Tried this for the first time in Sevierville TN. Found two pfister ashvilles. Had to get an employee to get it from rafters. Employee scanned it, came up as a penny, and he tried unsuccessfully to tear it from my clutches. Was told immediately I cannot buy it. He then got a manager who looked at it, and made a call to another manager who confirmed I cannot buy it. As this was happening i walked up ladder to get the second one and hid it. I tried checking out with it but it ran up as a penny, cashier was astonished and called manager who said no do not sell it. I called corporate and they contacted store, who had them waiting for me at customer service, for a penny. Staff very rude all around. Was also kicked off store computer in windows and doors section and told was not allowed to use to look for clearance items. Also followed out of complex by security.

Just had my first epic fail on an HD clearance Deal.

Went into Home Depot A and they had two items I wanted on clearance:

Echo 490 Chainsaw ($88, normally $349) - Not in stock
Bosch 11amp Grinder ($98, normally $149)-1 in stock, but could not locate

So I go to Home Depot B and they have both in stock, but at normal price. They will not match HD A's price, but the cashier tells me to go back to HD A and see if they'll price match. She literally tells me to go and return/rebuy.

She also conveniently forgets to remove the safety device, but it never goes off as I leave HD B.

So I go back to Home Depot A and try to return it (but by this point they think I stole it). The cashier is dumbfounded when she sees that the two stores have different prices for the same item. I tell her I'd like to price match or return/rebuy as Home Depot B suggested. She's bewildered :dunno:, but says "you're in luck our department head is here". (Oh fricken great I think to myself!)

He says no-go, won't even let me return it there. Now I have to go back to Home Depot B and return for real.

Penny deal from hell....

I got a Toro blower/vac which rang up penny...it was a opened box with clearance price of $115...but rang up as penny at the SCO.... HD sales clerk, head cashier, assistant manager all said no deal...that its a recall and took it away from me...

I called HD corporate and they said if item rang up as a penny item...then store has to sell it.... well...HD corporate called store manager and I was eventually able to get it....but he still tried very hard to deny and stall me.
after-while I told him...either yes or no...if no... I have a case ## that HD corporate csr made and that it will escalate on upwards.
He wasn't happy and just gave it to me with disgust and basically said...he was monitoring my phone conversation or tracking on a three way with the HD corporate csr.... He even later said....HD corporate csr was a referral outfit, contracted out...not even HD company.. that store manager had ultimate power or decision...

I later told HD corporate csr that this HD store needs to learn its company policy...She said she will send out a memo to store manager policy issue..

was the worst HD management and toughest ever...on a penny deal....
doesn't matter as I don't even go to this HD that often..

battle won with pics...

Just a idea but I found a barcode generator online that allows you to create the same barcode that is on the product by typing in the UPC. I was thinking this would come in handy for the large products. Instead of having someone drag it down and fear they may scan it or be at the self checkout and try to figure out how to scan a large item without bringing attention to yourself you can just create a barcode. The only down side is that you would need all the barcodes before going in because I don't think it will scan off a phone. But it there is a way to create a document within Google or something we can have a barcode type spreadsheet if you will, that we can just take upto selfscan after you found the products in the store. Make sure they are a penny and bam! Get it, pay for it and out the door you go!

Wow, I never had any hassles with using any of the in store computers to look stuff up. The only thing was letting an employee in that needed to use it which I don't have a problem with. Some stores are just crazy with their personal policies.

Moral of the story, wheel the ladder over and get it down yourself until someone says you aren't allowed to do so.

Could have bought them at last clearance price then called corporate and they would have likely refunded you.

This is pretty common. Stores don't match clearance, and a return/rebuy is very dependent on the cashier/manager you get and the mood they are in.

This might be frowned upon if anything every happened and you were caught doing this. Theoretically, you could be using a barcode to a .50 item to purchase a drill set etc.

Android also has an app available called barcode bank that will scan a barcode and then generate a perfect generated barcode image on your phone into a database of bardcodes you are tracking. You can then scan the phone. I do this all the time at stores with price checkers (like target) but don't think that I would be comfortable scanning my phone or a sheet of paper at self checkout. For a store with price checkers this works great. I think I have heard some people say their home depots have price scanners.

go to self checkout, have the attendant punch in the SKU, then tell her corporate policy is they have to sell it for a penny. Have your cell phone out and make sure you have Customer Care's number as one of your contacts.

I'm interested in this as well. There are 3 of the echo chainsaws at my store that are recons and do not have any tag besides the "this item only discount" that still rings up $180.

Fail... So I get there to try to purchase the blower and first thing I see in garden section was the Honda Press washer, had a repair tag on it for $220, which naturally distracted me, I went to the serv desk tried to get them to honor the actual sku number, no dice, then they call this B of a manager over and she is just rude as hell and states that since the skus are different she can't sell it to me with the old (regular) sku.
So... Swing and a miss... so then I get to the blower and try to take it to SCO, employee tries to help, cant figure it out and calls the manager over... the same one, she said that there was a $240 tag on it this morning and that is the price, wouldn't even try to ring it up... swing and a miss...
I did successfully get the repair tag off the press washer though last night when they were originally trying to find a price for so I went early this morning... different people and manager... same story, even with no tag on it they wouldn't look up the model and check the price... so I struck out. This HD is by far the hardest to deal with.

BTW, the toolboxes are still full price in all the stores I've been to in SC.

I would be very careful doing something like that. There's cameras everywhere at the store, and watching every self checkout. If they see you scanning barcodes like that, they will call the cops. Ultimately you'd be able to show that the barcodes are identical, but it would still be an embarrassment.

I believe it's called willful concealment?? Read about it in the police blogs all the time from Walmart where people switch/modify UPCs. Like I said, you'd be able to prove they were identical, but I certainly wouldn't want to deal with explaining that to the police, then having management tell the police they don't sell items for a penny, and have to get corporate involved with the police.

CS-330T I bought this weekend, had a repair tag on it for $180 with a generic "repair saw" SKU. I went to a regular register because I knew I was going to have issues. Lady scanned it and said $180. I said no no, this saw is on clearance for $65.03. She gets on the phone calls a few people, then signals a manager walking by. I explain that I know for a fact this saw is on clearance and that if we walk over to a computer I can show him. So he I walk him over to the pro desk, and open the SKU in the price check app and says you're right so we went back, and they honored the price adjustment and off I went.

If they wouldn't look up the model and check the price on the washer this morning, what were they trying to sell it to you for? I would have walked them over to a computer and pulled up the SKU.
