Today I found a store with pb-500t and the pressure washer. both repaired.
blower didn't have a sku (and didnt have a price), but because out of the box I couldn't use CSO. Manager came over and brought some hand-written sku on a piece of paper - $230. I called 800 twice. First time I was told store can price repaired items any way they like. 2nd rep told me they can't take the sku I'm giving them and have to use the sku they know. I had a screenshot with the sku when it was $80.03, but an idiot CSR kept saying "this item is $299 online and not sold in stores. it must have been a return from online. They can't take the sku you are giving them"
I told them the item may never been repaired and it's just a way for the store to avoid selling it for penny. (which is a neat trick)
The pressure washer had a wrong $279.00 tag with 667-269 sku (regular price for that PW). Manager came over, I tired to explain, but no dice. Then I tried to explain to 2 other guys. All I can say, HD hires idiots. I showed the the picture online for 667-269 and a picture of the $29 one, but idiots still had something stupid to say. Then one guy who seemed to be a tiny bit smarter then the rest jumped on the computer, some dos like white screen program (rpg? as400?) where he could see all "repaired" items. this one wasn't there. Guess what he does? Enters this washer in and prices it at $230.
Another thing I was told by 800 is that I called x number of times already. They asked me if I'm only buying clearance and penny stuff... I used 2 numbers (real for the blower and google voice for the pw) but when I called on GV number (which was my 3rd of 4th call within 30 min) I was told I just called a few minutes ago...How could they know that? different number on their caller id, and I don't think my last name would show up from a GV number. Maybe they search on names and I used my real name on both numbers.
do you guys give out your real name when you call 800 number? they told me they cannot start a case without a phone number and I believe they said the same about the first the last name
Anyway, I still think your luck really depends on the area you live in. Also, I don't know how you guys get very first CSR help you out, while I get CSRs who don't know the policy and who are telling me stores have the final word. I asked them today if there are different call centers, but they said no. Not sure if that's true or not, because different call centers could mean different training and would explain why we get different responses.
The worst part of it is - that blower had all accessories... while the two I got are missing lots of things-pipes, fuel and filter caps, filter, carburetor, etc
