I don't think that particular kit is listed. At least I didn't find it.

In store I dont think its ever been a question of it being listed or not.

As long as you buy one of the eligible kits, the second tool could be almost anything cordless (including another kit). At least that was my experience last year.

So, buy $369 DeWalt kit + $225 clearance kit, for a total of $594

Discount off the $225 kit would be $56.00

Whats the true verdict.. HD store is saying they wont honor price because i found it in the computer.. I called customer care and they are having District manager look into it.

Do it in store instead of on the web. Last year, in store was not limiting what your "second" tool could be. So as long as you bought one of the eligible kits the discount would be spread over the kit + whatever second cordless tool you bought.

Not sure if anyone has tried the promo this year to confirm it still works that way, but Im guessing nothing has changed. I might try this weekend if I get a chance (not that I need any more tools!)

My bad, I thought you were saying the kit he bought was one of the "eligible kits". Wasn't looking at it from the perspective of using it as the "other" kit.

OK Mr. high and mighty who now has a 30gal compressor...

The little pancakes not good enough for you now...

I have a 60 gallon compressor so NYAH!

I did buy one of the pancakes too, though. Its a lot easier to bring a small compressor to the trim vs running hundreds of feet of hose through my house.

Today was my first Depot trip to hop on their computer and see what I could find. My local store must be better at changing out tags than some of the others posted on here, as I found a number of items marked DNI (up high) and all stickers I checked were correct. I found a bunch of the Husky tool boxes, but computer shows them all at full price. I'll be hitting two other store tomorrow to see what I can find.

SKU: 1000026196, 1000044440

For some reason some stores never dropped the price on the 41" box. And I even found a store that has the 41" box at $498 right next to the new 52" box at $498!

Well you can't type the SKU into the self checkout price check. No computers available. Self checkout price check says scan or cancel. Only two options.

Managed to do a return/rebuy on the Ego 56v chainsaw and one of the Echo 590 saws. Around here they only seem to be clearancing them at stores that never stocked them in the first place. Paid about $700 for the pair at one store where they were full price. Went to another store 10 miles away and asked to return them so I could buy them with a gift card instead, but also had more shopping to do so they just put them back into my cart. Then I found the Echo 56V hedge trimmer and the Ryobi 18V chainsaw on clearance at that store as well as an open-box returned Echo 590 and went to checkout. Ended up gettng the Ego chainsaw for $75.03, the Echo 590's for $100.03 each, the Echo 56v hedge trimmer for $60.03, and the Ryboi chainsaw for $30.03.

Overall, really easy to do the return/rebuy. I might have to give it a shot a few more times.

Id call yourself very lucky.....return/rebuy from regular to clearance price is questionable at best in most stores at least around me (others have echoed the same experience)

Personally Id use that sparingly, as in a once in a lifetime deal, and count my stars if it works even once.

Does the person processing the return know that it is clearance priced when taking the return though?? If you have a receipt, it doesn't seem like they would ever see that price.

Yes and no. Some of them will look it up, some wont. Luck of the draw

Around here they seem to automatically look up the SKU first, then if they see .06/.03 or .04/.02 they start to waver about actually processing the transaction.

I wouldn't recommend making a habit out of return/rebuy. Returning too much stuff will get you banned from doing returns. I've only done it twice, and both times were for things that I kept and really wanted in the first place.
