True. Returning without receipt too much will get you banned but returning for credit back to your credit card seems to be OK.

But buying and then return/rebuy at a store to get clearance pricing is testing ethical boundaries, IMHO. Its definitely gaming the system and for all I know they might actually require your ID for that too (never tried it)

When I had a store price adjust (bought from them, then their clearance price lowered to the .03 level) they did a rebuy then gave me a store credit for the exact amount. Since I was repurchasing immediately they didnt ask for ID, but had I taken the store credit elsewhere, the OTHER store would have asked.

Yeah, I have a manager at a store near me that won't even look up the correct sku to even begin to see that its .01. No sticker on it, just sits in the refurb area, there is also a recon power washer that there, given up on both because manager just wont simply look up the price.

In another store I had a manager refuse to look up in the pricecheck app or handheld, a sku or price on the display model clearanced ryobi cordless trimmer they had there, they proceeded to go online to homedepot.com, look up the new part number, which was 89 bucks and knock 20 bucks off it. I told em no thanks and walked away, then the sales lady went and hung it back up where I got it from for the next customer to ask I guess...

Managers are luck of the draw too.

Managed to do a return/rebuy on the Ego 56v chainsaw and one of the Echo 590 saws. Around here they only seem to be clearancing them at stores that never stocked them in the first place. Paid about $700 for the pair at one store where they were full price. Went to another store 10 miles away and asked to return them so I could buy them with a gift card instead, but also had more shopping to do so they just put them back into my cart. Then I found the Echo 56V hedge trimmer and the Ryobi 18V chainsaw on clearance at that store as well as an open-box returned Echo 590 and went to checkout. Ended up gettng the Ego chainsaw for $75.03, the Echo 590's for $100.03 each, the Echo 56v hedge trimmer for $60.03, and the Ryboi chainsaw for $30.03.

Overall, really easy to do the return/rebuy. I might have to give it a shot a few more times.

#1 I wouldn't have posted this
#2 Someone did this a lot at a store I go to now their policy is all returns must be stocked back on the shelve by a department employee first, then it can be bought again

Manager called.. said come down tonight and get your penny blower

Blah!

I suppose I could complain more if I was even able to find one of the darn things, but every store Ive checked has none. Including spending 45 minutes looking in overhead of each store. No blowers, no chainsaws

Stopped at several stores today, finally at Houghton Lake Michigan picked up a Milwaukee 2697 - 22 for $120. Computer said they had three in stock and when the employee pulled it down there were three. According to the computer they had three of the Makita kits for $118 what I could not find them. I did find the Ridgid pancake compressor for $79 did not need it so I did not buy it it is up in the rafters behind the cordless power tools you can see it from the next aisle over. They also had a couple Ridgid Fuego compact half inch cordless drills for $68.. Computer shows zero stock but I saw at least two.

I'm not sure they know about the in store inventory locator. I was looking for something the other day and she went straight to the website and said it wasn't in stock. She also wasn't going to let me get on the computer. She was on me like flies on $hit. I think the only time now I'll be able to use the price check is a little bit before closing or maybe at opening time.

I have the Milwaukee tool chest set and it was worth every penny. From the soft close drawers, plug-in on the top, to the Milwaukee charger mounts on the side, I love it.

I wish the husky had plug ins. Pretty easy to add a power strip though. I need to get one...

Last night I snagged 11 more penny backpack sprayers. Also got 4 more Bostich smartpoint nailers for $30/$48. It seemed like the sprayers were being put back on the floor for BF, but nobody bothered to update the price in the system. I went through the garden department, looking for the chainsaws and blowers, and there were no sprayers. I went back for insecticide for my mom, and there was a cart full of them. I grabbed a few, and they rang up a penny. I went back to grab a few more, and a flatbed full of them had magically appeared. Me and a friend each grabbed 4 a piece.

The nailers were right there on the third level, easy to see. Grabbed the ladder and pulled them down myself. Glad I did. I would have missed the sprayers if I had to wait for help. I can't believe they weren't pennies out yet. Really can't believe they were still there.

They don't, home depot employees have to be some of the most poorly trained out there. I can't believe corporate would do such a bad job, maybe they just have crazy turnover?

Box of Echo blower parts showed up today. It took 11 days after faxing a copy of the receipt. I explained I bought a display model Echo Blower and it was missing the hoses, they told me I need to return it to Home Depot and buy one with the hoses, well i then explained it was the last one in stock, again the lady pushed back and said I needed to contact Home Depot. I explained I already talked to the manager of the store (which I did) and he said I need to contact Echo. She finally caved in and told me to fax over the receipt, a little more dificult than I expected but hey, it worked.

On the other hand I bought a Makita XT260 set missing the charger, talked to a rep at Makita customer service who pretty much laughed at me, and said "of course we cannot send you a charger if you didnt buy one". Explained I bought and entire set which was missing one, ready to fax over receipt, etc, no go. I asked for the supervisor who gave me a little more stern response of I need to return it and buy another one.

I bought the m18 fuel drill driver/1/4" hex impact combo today and used the $150 toward 1/2" m18 fuel impact. They also matched my harbor freight 20% off but only up to $50 (woulda been 79). All in all 150+50=200 off. total $436.01..They didn't have the 18 hackzall in stock so I will wait for a christmas gift, bare tool.

I did a return/rebuy on the fuel set I bought last month today. Even talked them into taking the extra $50 off that I got when I bought the set. M18 Fuel Hammer Drill/Impact + M18 Fuel 7 1/4" Circular saw for $430.
