Yes if feasible. Just brainstorming a bit :Homer:

So this may work, depending on whether or not the store you return it at checks the price prior to putting it back on the shelf. If they check the price, they shouldn't put it back on the shelf for sale, or they may mark it under a generic SKU with a $149 price.

In no way am I promoting this, but a possibility would be to return it saying that you want to change the card you placed the order on, then convince them to just leave it in your cart if you say you have "more shopping" to do, then go through SCO. This would be pretty greasy though...

Don't waste your time. Home Depot doesn't allow anyone to buy clearance merchandise online, return it to the store for the full retail price, and then rebuy it at clearance pricing. They view people who try to do that as scammers. Cashiers are trained to accept the return and deny the rebuy. All online orders that get returned must be RTV'd.

That has not been my experience, but I also wasn't trying to rebuy for a penny.

Absolutely nothing in 4 stores. Debating on a $50.03 slide for the daughter.

You're cleaning the stores out too good. Leave some crumbs for when you go back the next time!

I wasn't talking about penny items. I'm talking about clearance items.

Corporate has a policy about online orders -- all returns derived from online orders are not to be returned to store-stock/inventory. Period. All online returns are to be RTV'd. The returns system flags online orders and alerts the cashier. Cashiers are trained not to allow a rebuy.

This policy has specifically been designed to thwart scammers who try to use the online warehouse to supply private inventory for buying hard to find items at clearance prices through return/rebuy.

They know that there are some people out there who will try to buy merchandise at 100% of the retail price online, return it in-store for full-credit, and then try to rebuy it at a 75% discount at an 03 price point.

Corporate policy is that a customer can NEVER rebuy any online order that is returned. The cashiers are required to stick a green, yellow, or red RTV sticker on it -- where the color indicates the specifics of the transaction -- and to immediately march the parcel directly back to receiving so that no customer can try to buy it while it waits to get shipped back.

Locally somebody got arrested for trespassing into receiving, where he plucked RTV merchandise and tried to run it though SCO.

Let's stick to legitimate bargain hunting. There are plenty of good deals out there for anyone who is a good hunter.

lol the stores cleaned out too much for all this Black Friday stuff. Plus it seems most of the deals are disappearing before they even hit low clearance.

I'm having better luck with Lowes right now

I am confused here. The Ashfield faucet can still be purchased online, but has been clearanced in all stores. If you find one in store, it will be a penny.

Are you saying you want to buy one online for $149, then return/rebuy in store?

Can you post the Ashfield faucet sku?

i think you're right -- i'm not expecting many deals right now, because Nov / Dec is when retailers make all their profits for the year. things that sell during Nov / Dec actually sell at good prices so they don't have to discount them until after Christmas. besides, they just did the big purge to get rid of all the seasonal merchandise and make room for winter / christmas stock. I'm thinking that bargain hunting may be pretty dry until after the Holidays. I'm not putting in much effort right now. besides, all my Chrismas tool shopping is already done! :bounce:

Is the Milwaukee 2494-22b for $102 a good deal at hd? They have 4. here now. Thanks

It's a pretty good deal, but keep in mind that you will still need 18V tools unless you get 12V Fuel. I have the regular 12v and they are nice and light, but won't do a lot of things. I got the new Fuel Hammer Drill/Impact combo. It retails for $399 but I got them to do the 20% off from Harbor Freight and they have the $150 credit towards another tool. So I got the 18V Fuel circular saw as well. Out the door with all 3 for under $400.

I thought you said you were having problems getting penny deals with managers.

Stopped by two stores this morning and finally hit the jackpot. Sealed NIB PB500T. I was ecstatic until I put the box in my cart and saw "store use" written on the box. Thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Debated between SCO and customer service desk. Opted for customer service desk. Told them I've been looking for this and wanted to buy it. The CSR brought her gun out and started flipping the box around. As soon as she saw the "store only" writing, she was quick to tell me no. I told her I really wanted it and asked to speak with a manager. The manager was very polite, but said that since it's no longer in the system they can't sell it. Was worth a try!

That's because the wrench box is in the clamp box and covering them.

Haven't seen any of the clamps and/or wrenches in my area recently, but would ask if you can post the SKU's for each as I will be out and about again next week and will keep an eye out for same. Thanks......

did you see it ring up as not found?

No they wouldn't scan it after she found "store only" on the box. Mgr said it's an old model that's no longer in the system.

Maybe I'll go back at closing time and see if I can get it to ring up in SCO. Has anyone had them ring up lately?

It would have rang up as penny at SCO. You would have walked out no problem.

It will ring up as a penny. It hasn't been off long enough for it to be "not found". That takes at least like 4 months

The Wiha Terminator 8 piece impact bit set is $3.83 at my nearby Home Depot. I picked up a set last time I was there, there's plenty left.

Got the last XL sized DeWalt ToughBox that I knew was in overhead at my local store.

For some reason no one ever caught it, even during their inventory.

Rang up a penny at SCO.

Picked up a Makita XT260 combo and was wondering if anyone would like to trade for (2) Milwaukee M12 kits 2481-22 that are currently 25.

I figured they would have stopped me, as many others have posted on here, when it rang up a penny. And then when they see the store only, I would have been out of luck anyway.
