Another huge strikeout at a florida HD today. I did find a faucet that was rumored to be a penny (649757 – Moen Haysfield SS (spot resist) – Kitchen – 87877SRS). Lady working in area did NOT want to take it down, said she wasn't allowed. After spending 15 minutes looking for it on the shelves below, she finally gets it down. It had a post it note dated 2014 on it that says it has missing parts. Employee was then intently focused to grabbing and scanning item, which came up at $204. I price check it at SCO and it is indeed $204.

Thinking of hooking up the trailer to my own gmc5.3 and heading up to the NE to see wtf I'm missing lol. 06GMC5.3, how you like the toyo MT's? I went with the cooper st maxx couldn't be happier so far.

Haha. I like them. Run them just in the summer, have Hancook Dynapro ATM for the winter. I would definitely buy another set. Are you on GMFS?

A few left in South Portland too for anyone interested. I think SPN and I are the only ones in the area though (that I am aware of).

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1447604059.280130.jpg This is ringing up a penny - 1000045016. About to go through SCO, but grabbing a GL4 water heater down first. These will be my first penny deals if I can get them out the door. Wish me luck!

EDIT: Small hang up when the SCO had to print my receipt, but a quick trip to customer service with a call to a manager and an "oh shoot" by the rep, and I'm out the door with 3 penny items.

What is that Rachio thing

I couldn't find a single deal in 6 stores near the Kissimmee / Orlando area When I was down there last week. They seemed to be pretty on top of there stuff before the prices got too low. A few stores did have some of the Milwaukee 2407-22B m12 Drill and Bluetooth speaker on the clearance end caps in some stores off route 4 near universal but they where the same $89 as online.

Be patient.. Mine took like 5 hours to pair.. Worked great after

Mine paired right off and appears to be working great.

I have one from LL Bean that doesn't want to pair anymore that I have to bring back and exchange for a new.

Email receipt and walk out the door... let them deal with the paper :)

I would have, but they must've had that option disabled because it never popped up. There was also signs on all of the SCOs that said the receipt paper was out, and the attendant would have to print. Only took a few minutes to get out the door once she printed the receipt though.

Like 06 said, it's a smart irrigation control. They go for $180 on eBay. All of my local Tulsa, OK stores carried them, but they caught them when the went penny status. I found the pair plus the GL4S water heater in Benton, AR. Here's a pic of the front and back of my $.02 purchase - ImageUploadedByTapatalk1447635878.637941.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1447635895.171319.jpg

As I mentioned, I got a water heater as well. What are you guys asking for those on Craigslist?

They didn't seem too popular on CL or eBay. Hope you have better luck. I never bothered picking any up at .03 level for those reasons. At .01 you don't have anything to lose though.

I looked for those also to no avail. I did see a few pages back where a member purchased the PB-580 along with a hand-held blower.

How did you scan that big box without raising the CSR's attention to your macine.

As mentioned, PB-500T is what you need to be looking for. If you read more closely, that member said he bought a PB-500T and got the PB-580T tubes to go with it, not that he bought a PB-580.

hd.com doesn't tell you anything at all in regards to deals you may find in the store.

A few local stores around here have that for $75.02.

Can't be scared... Go through when they are busy or when they are helping someone else. I have gone through twice with garage door openers who's box is atleast twice the size of this water heater. I would say it is much harder going through with a bunch of items as opposed to one large item.

^^this. I hovered until I saw her helping out another couple with several larger items. She didn't notice that stuff rang up a penny until after she had removed the security wraps and printed the receipt. She then said something must've gone wrong with me ringing up since there were penny items. I asked for one of the two copies she printed and showed her my receipt was in fact correct, then she said well, I still have to inform customer service, so come with me. She tried to take the cart and I said nope, these are my items, I've already paid for them. Get to customer service and that gal says "oh shoot," calls her MOD, tells her that I found 3 penny items on the shelf, hangs up and says thank you for shopping with us, you're good to go.

Ok, Where did you find the penny items? How did you know to grab those particular items and check them for price? If I use the kiosk, am I just guessing what to type in for a clearance? or is the a general clearance check that can be done?

How to find clearance items

Method 1: Use the in-store computer kiosks

Most every HD has computer kiosks located in numerous departments within the store (windows/doors, flooring, appliances etc) as well as in the front of the store at the "Pro Desk". These computers have a section for public access. Within that section there is a "price check" app. You can use the app to find clearance items/inventory at your store. Simply enter a key word in the search box (Dremel, mower, Husky, Dewalt, etc). All the results matching that key word will appear. Simply click on the filter icon on the upper left hand side, then click on the "clearance" button. The results will further filter down to all the clearance items for that keyword. Make a list of the items you are interested in, and note down the last digit of the clearance price (as mentioned above) to determine markdown schedule.

Method 2: Pay attention to date printed on yellow clearance tags.

Often, store employees fail to update the clearance yellow tags to correctly reflect the current markdown price (as mentioned above). But most yellow clearance tags have a date printed on it. This can provide you with clue regarding the actual price of the item. The older the date on the tag is, the more likely that it has dropped further in price than the price indicated on the tag. For example, a $100 price tag with a date of 9/1/2014 could very well have dropped to $25.03 or even $0.01 at this point.

Right! But, how do you know to type in ECHO? Or Dremel, or whatever? There are a 1,000 different manufacturers in HD.

Like mentioned, I've stayed glued to this thread for a few months now. Pounded pavement through all my local stores more than I'd care to admit, but picked up quite a few things at the .03 level. Those Rachio controllers had dropped to $25.03 in my neck of the woods a couple of months ago, but then disappeared at the reset for all the xmas stuff. I was visiting some friends in the Little Rock area this last weekend, and since I usually wake up an hour or two before anyone else, I went to the closest HD to hunt. I came across those Rachio controllers on the plumbing aisle, and knew they had to be pennied out by this point, quick price check scan at SCO confirmed that. I then spotted the small 4gal water heater in an upper shelf that I pulled down with the yellow customer ladder. I knew that was likely a penny because of this thread. Double checked the SKU at the customer computer before pulling it down though.

Its the luck of the draw, I've gotten 6 Milwaukee multimeters for a penny each about two months ago, when some people at there local HD's couldn't fine them when they were marked at 75%. Some people found chain saws and blowers, but the models they found aren't sold down here in south Florida, like I wouldn't expect them to sell snow blowers down here. All it is, is finding stuff people post here and scanning them and see if it rings up a penny.

Also if you find a deal post it on here as soon as you can, someone might find it in their neck of the woods and score too.

Happy hunting

Watts pressure reducing valves are down from 60$ to 7$ in Canada, usually means they will penny out soon in the U.S. - meanwhile at the same store they are trying to sell those nails in the clearance section at only 15% off.
