The Ridgid are not even on clearance here. I don't have a planer, but I thought I'd keep an eye on the dewalt, but I think I would rather have the Ridgid.

Actually, those Dewalt planet blades say 6/30/15 and they're not penny?? Did you price check them?

yes...2 stores were full price and in stock...other 2 nothing...but was penny and I got the last one...HD is weird and I love them for it.... only way to get it by walking the stores..sometimes it hits and others times...a big waste of time... I suppose its better we find it then having them destroy it... which really doesn't make sense..

They had a grip of these in the local stores here that were a special buy because of the flooding we had in the area in September. Along with every other cleaning/flood damage repair/recovery item you can think of... They will probably clearance them out quickly but I've noticed that they have tons of these shop vacs that are palleted in the rafters in multiple locations throughout the store, bound to be some that get to the .03 once they start to clearance them out.

Ok.....

Can someone give me a coherent explanation of how I find the penny/7 cents/etc items??

Are you finding this stuff online and then going to the store(s)?

And for goodness sakes....can those of you that use TapaTalk on your phones take that damn sig line OFF?? It really clutters up your (possibly) otherwise informative posts....

Thanks.

And for those that might want to say "do a search", I have. I have also tried to read pages and pages in this thread and have given up. Look at it this way- I live in the metro ATL area, there's a Home Depot on every corner....once I get more knowledge about this deal, I could very well help someone find something they want/need.

I'm fairly new here myself and while there's lots about this I haven't figured out yet, just by following the thread and asking a few questions to fill in gaps in my knowledge has been a big help. If you'd ask about something specific you'll be far more likely to get help than just asking for the Reader's Digest version of all the relevant information in the whole thread.

Sorry for joining the conversation late. I was wondering how you know if an item is a penny? Is it all yellow sticker items?

Edit: Never mind I found the thread that has the info for this. TY.

I have a good feeling the Ridgid 5 Gallon Wet / Dry Vacuum is going to go on sale again this Black Friday for $20

Ugh...if they program their SCO registers to not sell any items for a penny then...well it would ****!

I doubt they would. I've tried to inadvertently purchase items that were on safety recall and the registers go crazy with alerts and instructions to confiscate the item and not to let customers leave with it.

This is a small issue on HD's end. I'll bet it had something to do with store managers selling recalled merchandise under a generic sku or corporate not flagging the sku's in the POS system. If it's a generic sku concern, maybe that will be good for the deals and they will discontinue generic SKUS.

Someone posted that trimmer line a while back IIRC. That would be a lifetime supply for me... Not sure what trimmers take that size though, maybe some commercial stuff. Most residential stuff I have seen is .08.

For anyone that cannot find the answer on how to find penny items easily here is the secret.

Go to www.homedepot.com make sure you are logged into the store closest to you and search for some items that are known to be closeout items (i.e. Echo blower) the website will show .01 for any items still in stock. Then simply go to that store, find the item numbers and collect those items off the shelve.

Be sure to go to customer service first and alert them that you will be ringing up a penny item as they will need to approve it when it is scanned. Alerting them before hand will make it easier and faster when checking out.

Exactly. Just make sure you select the correct store. I have made the mistake of having the wrong store selected before.

Kneeman you laugh when Spn ordered a pallet of nails for 75 bucks delivered?

I think he paid 42 cents a case, then HD fixed the online prices

They are penny around here (New England).

They are still at the .03 level in the Maryland area. Found two pair today and took them to the SCO expecting them to be a penny but found the higher price instead. Went to a total of four stores today and the only penny items I was able to find was one GE 18" LED Under Cabinet light and two of the smallest orange wire clamps that have since been replaced with the new black/orange versions. A lot of items I expected to have been reduced to a penny are still holding firm at the .03 level - must be due to the fact that they are to busy getting ready for Black Friday and Christmas.

You guys are all doing it wrong. I found a promo code (you can only use it once per email address) that any one item (up to $4000) down to $0.01 for one time only. The trick is to make Homedepot.com accounts under different email addresses. I use mine, my girlfriend's, her parents, my parents, and everyone else i could think of. I just got my first penny deal in (free shipping too). The coupon code is "gupennyllible".

Hate to say it but seems to be a lot of leachers lately. New people are fine but some that I have seen don't contribute a single item to the thread or spreadsheet and yet they are here every other day asking pricing and where or complaining they didn't get or couldn't find that deal. Someone around me is clearing house, it might even be HD. I haven't found anything worth while in a few weeks. Everytime I go I search random categories and even look up local inventory to post up here of items I don't need. Hate to say it but had to say it.

Also, why is everyone calling HD corporate over penny items? Some of the more "valuable" things like saws and blowers I understand but items that originally sold 40-80$ why bother do you need it that badly?

First penny deal on a light fixture. Got it in apopka, fl. Manager was a real duck and said, they don't do penny deals even after corporate called them. I'll be back though and hopefully other people can get deals there so the manager gets the point.

Just saw it on the last two boxes at one store. Can't remember which. I have a brighter photo if you want it to print.
