Yeah Im hoping it will pick up around Super Bowl time. Seemed that was a good time last year too, with all of the stock still left from Black Friday, etc.

But Ive also noticed that they seem to be stocking less of every item now....almost like they learned something lol. I dont see displays and pallets full of the Ryobi battery pack deal, only maybe a couple small boxes with 5 or 6 pair in each box. Im sure there is more hidden away but Im guessing we wont see the massive amount left like last year.

The hand tools and such are lined up in what seems like the standard amount every year. Was just in my store this morning and the BF-only stuff is on the floor but wrapped in black plastic for now.

Just wait till January and February when all the Black Friday stuff goes on clearance again..... Some of these stores are so overcrowded with all the new items that they are going to have to clearance it soon to make room for new items. It all comes in cycles it will get better soon ;)

It is almost impossible to shop right now, with pallets of Ninja blenders, and Eureka vacuums in front of every aisle.

Not a month, but maybe a few weeks. I only saw them at one store, and they sold at 6.33 I think it was.

There is barely enough room to walk down the aisle at one store. Check the candy some of it is half price at the register area.698-207 sewer machine Reg $499 down to $375.

Is it just me, or does it seem like they're dropping a lot more items to low clearance levels before switching them over to .06/.03? Maybe it's to get more stuff to sell quicker rather than deal with penny status.

Not sure if thats a recent thing or not, but Ive always noticed they seem to keep a lot of the bigger brand name stuff at .00 levels much longer than other stuff.

Would be nice to know the rhyme or reason for it....example: Ryobi 4Tek inspection cam has been 70.00 for months, yet you can watch other Ryobi cordless (not 4Tek) stuff drop to a penny.

I don't think any of the stores around here had the boxes on clearance. Only one I ever saw come up in a search was the tongue one, and there were non in stock.

While searching a new to me Home Depot in a nearby town, I found a lot of the clearance items from my home store are still on display but don't pull up on the phone app. Employee saw me scanning and says hey we just put up that display, all the old stuff was cleared out super cheap, I got thousands of bucks of stuff for under 100$, giving it away for Christmas.

He said a tip was to come back right after Jan 1, husky stuff rolls over packaging and UPC codes regularly and they try to get rid of the old UPC codes from that store in January.

Belling surge protectors are .03 around here too. Nothing else worth noting... Did see this, looked for a bit but couldn't find it. Don't think I would have bought it anyway but.

Yeah. I wouldn't buy it either. I have the fuel version. Only thing here would be craigslisting the drills and hopefully ending up with (almost) free batteries. For anyone who is actually in the market for some, these are nice at this price.

well....over the past week....I had a funny weird day...I decided to go to the HD stores in not so nice city areas.. Well.... I was asking the cashier to check item ##, price, inventory..when I noticed a guy hiding behind a plywood eyeing a shopper going through...sure enough... as the guy caught the customer stealing items in his transaction...he brought the customer back in...he's undercover store security guy...Cashier saw this too....and now gets back to my item ##...which he said is Penny but no stock and saids.. if you find it. its free and kind of laugh it off....

well...as I leave the store... I see guy coming out of returns dept doors, and two cashier telling him to bring item back in....and start chasing him in parking lot.. and some more HD guys get involved too... and bring guy back in...

Then I go to another HD store in bad area... and sure enough... saw another undercover store cop eyeing 2 customers in plumbing area and following them..... I have never seen these kind of things in all the HD stores I visited... Seems these HD stores clearly got more important things to worry about then Penny shoppers or HD clearance hunters......seems their undercover security guys have their hands full and busy....Last thing they worry about is penny items..

And this HD store and surrounding HD store in bad areas had security guards and they check your receipt as you leave... wow...what a weird HD visit..... worth the price of admission.... But I didn't find anything at these stores... I am thinking penny items and more items may be stolen before it ever reaches the penny status.....lol..

All the stores have loss prevention. Many people never notices them as they tried to look like customers. Yes, in the "hood" you will see security guards that check your receipts and count how many items you are walking out with. It is unfortunate that it has to be that way. I remember saying to my son, look they have security guards checking receipts. Sales associate turns around and tells me, that is how you know you are in the ghetto.

All of them around here have them. They set in their camera room and watch everything. They do not try to look like customers around here. I have seen them looking around corners watching people. They had pallets of black friday by the computers. Made me have to lean around it. I will be glad when friday is over.

They seem to be setting up more and more of the motion-activated video cameras around here. One in particular has one set up at the nailers... doorbell sound every time I walk by then the screen pops up of the security guy watching all of the monitors. I press my face on the camera and let him look up my nose.

The bag checkers are one of the reasons I no longer shop at Wal Mart. Once I have paid for my items, they are my own property and store employees have no right to search my bags. When they ask to see my receipt, I typically say "no you may not" and continue about my business. If they think I'm stealing something, that's a matter for the police. If we keep letting our constitutional rights be violated, pretty soon it will be the norm, and we might as not have any rights.

No go on the 150 off promo, the computer won't let them do it had CS and the cashier all confused.. Just tried this with the dewalt kit for 369.99. It takes the 150 off between that and the 2494-22 kit but then adds the price of the bare tool. Place was packed and someone was at the CS computer so didn't check for any deals.

I picked up the dewalt kit and the M12 sawzall / drill

Knocked the m12 kit down to $64 with a lowes 5% discount and the dewalt down to $239.

Going to try another store to see if they will let both promo's work together but I suspect I might have to do a return/ rebuy at full price to get the free bare tool. The ratchets where also pretty much sold out, found the last one in stock so I doubt it will be there next time.

FYI, this worked on the website last year, because they made every permutation of M12 kit + free tool an actual item on the website.

Added DeWalt kit to cart, added the specific M12 kit + free item to cart, discount came off the M12 kit + free item since it was its own SKU/item.

I went for a trip at lunch to visit a HD that was out of state. They have different clearance items, but I managed to find a penny chainsaw, the Echo CS 590. I was not looking for that specifically because I did not know it was on clearance there, but I saw it was on an upper shelf but not on display. My Black Friday came on Tuesday.

they have them on the website this year also but it doesn't trigger the 150 off. Unless I am doing something wrong. in store it rings up as the regular kit then they had to add the free tool but the computer blocked it
