Not a penny yet as I just bought mine today. I think I read they drop to penny level on Mondays? Is this always true or not predictable?
Ok, depends on the region as well. I would suspect yours would be dropping soon then. Items don't always drop on Monday, it depends on when the MET team gets to that particular department. Could be Monday, could be Friday, or any day in between.

Had an interesting experience yesterday at home depot. i had bought a Nest Protect smoke detector last saturday. they gave me the battery version rather than the wired one i wanted. so i returned it monday. you pick up a card and take it to the service desk to buy Nest products. so i took it there with a bunch of other things i was buying
the lady went to the cage and came back with a nest protect. i could see it had a sale sticker on it of 80 bucks (they are 100). and on the top of the box was hand written Penny Sku. so she rang it up and was puzzled. i asked her if it rang up as a penny and she said yes. i said i knew what penny skus were and i would like to buy it. she got fairly stern and said she couldnt sell it for a penny. the thing is i never had it in my hand since she was behind the service counter and was holding it. i told her that if it was ringing up a penny i should be able to buy it for that. i knew i wasnt going to get it and to be honest i am sure it was the older version of the nest anyway i didnt really want. but i wanted to try pushing it.
i explained to her about penny items but she said she was not allowed to sell it for a penny.
at that point i just let it go but explained to her again how it was supposed to work
i was just surprised at how annoyed she was with me.
it was kinda fun though

I don't know what that team is but there were guys there examining the marked end cap of clearance, scanning all those items. Not sure if they were lowering their prices further or what, but are those the guys that are the "MET" team? If so I guess they'll be to the lawn department soon? I've never found a penny deal, nor have I really tried to find any. There's only one store in my area that I've found ANY clearance at and this is where I found the string trimmer and a year ago a dremel tool for $18 or 20.

A HD near me has two of the DW745 tables saws up high in the rafters, what's the best plan to secure the best price on these? Wait? Buy? Could use some newbie help here...
If you REALLY REALLY want one, I would look back to the beginning of this thread and see what date the price drops began last year.
If you have the capital you could purchase them now and when the price drops do a return and rebuy the product (home depot's version of a price match)

One of regular stores cleared all BF displays out today smaller store but they drop prices the fastest
New to this site, I called a local store asking what price and quantity they had on the DW745 table saw, and they said $299 and just 2. Are prices they give over the phone reliable, or might I find the price is $229 if I go in and scan it myself?
I searched this thread and couldn't find anything about checking prices over the phone. Though I imagine you wouldn't want to try this for penny deals.

Almost positive they are some of the low voltage landscape lighting, just not sure what pieces. I was going to jump on that stuff myself a couple weeks ago as I was watching it be clearance labelled, but the power transformer was still basically full price.

The Ego was down to 55.03 around here....mswol is in a close area to me so Im thinking same price there (or it hit a penny)
I picked one up myself.....Craigslist has not been kind for my EGO stuff but Ill keep trying.
Never call, 99% of the time they just look it up on homedepot.com the other 1% of the time they realize what a deal it is and go buy it.

Quirkey is a design collective... They don't actually make anything, they design it and manufacturers like GE (in this case) bring it to life. So although yes the design firm went bankrupt, doesn't mean GE put that silver label on without regard... Just keep that in mind.
