The Ridgid tube boxes are under $9 in the Richmond, VA area. Never particularly interested me at $35, though I have five of the various stackable boxes. Two stores I've stopped by are out of stock, but I may check out another one or two stores.

Nice score! They show up $349 online here, havnt went instore and looked though

It seems only some stores cleared these out. Less than 5 miles from the store where I found that one another store has them on the shelf for $349.

Not a penny (or maybe not even on clearance), but the 200pc Dewalt hand tool set that was bundled with the 2-piece driver set a few weeks ago is on sale for $99 by itself (down from $199).

I bought a few of the bundles and this toolset is decent. The rachets are 72-tooth and heavy. There are quite a few filler bits, but overall a good deal at $99.

How is it that they are down to a penny???

The price tag clearly says $12.06, reduced from $14.97.

How did you know that if you took the item to the register, it would ring as a penny? What indication is there on the price tag that provides that information?

People have suggested on this thread to "keep looking" up and down the aisles for these penny deals, but all I see are yellow tag prices that are only a few bucks off the original price, reflecting maybe a 20% discount.

How do you "see" a penny deal, when the price tag says 1,206 pennies?

Price tag is dated 3 1/2 months ago. I'd imagine that he made a SWAG and took it to self checkout to scan and check.

I'm no expert though, just got my first penny deal the other day, carpet cleaner on the aisle

The biggest indicator is the date. In the picture it looks like the item was placed on clearance on 9/15, so it's been sitting on the clearance rack for over 3 months. After some unknown period of time, any remaining clearance items will drop to a penny.

Good luck
The Ryobi trimmer that everyone has been getting for a penny is still at 40.02 by me

you won;t find it unless you know where to look for it.... Its usually outside in garden...and has its own stall....like a magazine type...and it RED color stand...all the corona gardening tools are in it....corona gardening cutters are what pro garderners use...good stuff... but the good ones are just regular price.. they are some other rose snips,,,and loop hacksaw cutters...down to 03, level...$4-5....but they haven't pennied out yet...
The corona stall is usually in or around the cashier area or by the other cutters.

I'm getting jealous of these chainsaw deals. Let me ask you all this, if it shows out of stock on the kiosk computer but there's one on the shelf tagged regular price, is it regular price???

1001375615 aka Echo CS-490 is still "active" status in 5 of my 9 closest stores. If you pull up the sku in the computer it will show "active" and full retail price. The other 4 stores are a penny. All 9 stores are within 20 miles of each other.

That should be full price and just the inventory count is wrong. Could always take it to the self-checkout and price check it to be sure.

All the stores here that are still full price show the inventory online. So you could check online and go to stores that don't carry it.

I almost landed my first penny deal today. Found a can of wood cleaner / conditioner with a .01 yellow tag on it. I searched the rest of the clearance racks and a few other spots without any luck and headed up to the Pro Desk to search with the price checker app. While I'm setting at the price checker an employee comes up and snatches my penny deal!! I say "HEY! what gives, thats mine!" lol! He says "sorry, don't know where you found that but it shouldn't have been out" I'm like "huh"? He proceeded to tell me why it was priced at penny and that if anyone would have let me check out with it they would be reprimanded... I tried to lurk around and follow him so I could see where he'd put it (hopping it would be in a pile of other penny deals) but he lost me..... Maybe next time!

Can anyone recommend where to look for items that show in stock but don't have a home? There are a couple dozen clearance items that show up on the computer but don't have a location listed, They aren't on the clearance racks, aren't in the area they should be or the over head area near by....

The store that returns it will see it is non stock there and not put it back out.

At least they should and I have returned a few .03 items I changed my mind on before and by the time I returned them they were a penny and they took them straight from the return area to somewhere else.

Of course there are always exceptions to everything.

Liquid nails project (red label) is 44 cents....Not sure what to do with that much liquid nails though. Just picked up a few cases of the regular liquid nails @ 30 cents each a few months ago and have barely went through any.

I walked into my local store and they had two carts full of granite countertop cleaner and fertilizer with a sign that said FREE. I think it was penny items

In my piece of **** town of only one Home Depot, I was thrilled tonight to score this, my 1st penny deal!

I miss living in a real city with 6+ Home Depots.... Those were the days when I could always score deals!

Been looking at the Dewalt DW745 table saw at $229, and most stores around me were down to 2 or fewer units, but this morning I see that most are stocked back up to at least 5 units per store. All stores I checked had them as inactive, so I didn't think they'd be getting any more. Harbor Freight is only 5 minutes from one store, so I might try my luck with a 20% off coupon.

I'll also do my first search for penny items.

Last nights haul..3 cents. Got the hose reel for free. The old man at self checkout said we can't sell it for that, tried to figure it out on the computer then asked if I was going to return it, I said no and he said just take it. Found the ryobi trimmer mixed in with the 15 inch trimmers. Saw the box was smaller than the others so I knew something was up. Went to self checkout and it rang up a penny which I wasn't expecting. Faucet and garage door opener were found in overhead/floor.

What a steal. I have property down in LaMarque and usually frequent the HD right off of 45 by The Gun Room. Not sure of the area but I think it's exit 21 or 22 off of 45.
