I was just in HD yesterday and spoke with a couple of employees as they were unpacking and setting up the seasonal tool area. They said that HD was having a Black Friday type deal starting on November 9th. A flyer would be mailed out the preceding Wed. According to them, not all deals would be announced at first. Some deals would pop up through out the weeks after the 9th. Just wanted to share it with you guys.

check some of your stores, as I walked into one, just as they were putting all of their floor display etc power tools out on the clearance rack. Makita impact driver with battery for 50.00. Milwaukee M12 drivers for 50.00 etc etc etc They also were putting out the displays of all their special deals. Looking for the irwin vise grip deal, walking around store with the tool inventory chick, she pointed out all the boxes in the top of the pallet racks that they had gotten for all of their special sales about to come up. She found the box vice grips for 5.00 (stores seems to be getting 24 of them) and offered to sell me the whole box. HAHA (only took 5)

I wish HD and Lowes would offer atleast one USA made sale item each.

It seems each store tries to go as cheap as they can. HD has India-made Husky wrenches that come out in the special christmas deals, and Lowes has some chinese sets as opposed to their chinese sets. I dont think either have any USA made big sale items.

Am I asking for too much?

I was in HD today and all the sale stuff was out. It was your ordinary selection of gimmick tools and sets full of filler. Nothing worth noting on the clearance rack.

Not sure where you are, but in the Midwest Menards always has a bunch of USA made stuff. In fact if you go to there website and browse there Ad,, you can actually hit the 'Show USA made stuff' and it highlights anything that is made in USA.

Sweet! Only problem is on their store locator map... Closest store is 253 miles away from me

I got a Husky 1/2" socket set for $14 the other day. I hate to say it, but it's pretty decent quality. I've beaten the hell out of a few Husky tools and they've at least done what I needed them to do. But that being said, I WILL buy USA made stuff whenever I can afford it....HD and Lowe's just don't offer too many USA made tools because they're too expensive for their target audience.
