Hi Guys,

Read through 8 pages of thread titles, and then did a search for the Diamond Deck - finding nothing. Even googling this stuff turned out fruitless

Does anyone have experience of this stuff?

edit: it seems that the manufacturer is called Auto Care Products, Inc - product is called Park Smart (Diamond Deck)

Many thanks!

George

DiamondDeck pt #80720 is over the web just there to purchase and no reviews. The MFG done an excellent job in landing spots at facebook and other sites so no one could control feedback risk against them. Many new MFG's are doing that now. Hopefully somone has used the product. I saw some smaller sections of that at my local HD near the front but I am not sure of the MFG. I will look tomorrow.

Diamond Deck is manufactured in China by http://www.auto-care.com/ . Auto-Care is a good company and we sell a lot of their products. At this point in time we are not carrying the diamond deck product.

We checked out some other 'made in China' flooring products and we have decided not to carry them. You may want to look at the Garage Flooring LLC Decides Not to Carry Garage Floor Mats from China thread as well as G-Floor advantages. http://www.garageflooringllc.com/?s=china I will say that if I ever decided to carry a product that competes with BLT I would buy from Auto-Care in a heartbeat. They stand behind what they sell.

The Chinese products I have looked at (Nitro & Versa Roll) had some issues. For example, on the Nitro product the color layer is just a thin layer and it peels off. Also, the product has been rolled in China and shipped on a barge and then stored rolled. I know with the BLT product and the Versa roll product, when they have been stored rolled they do not install well.

My laundry room is covered in the stuff Lowes sells. I like it but there are def. cracks at the edges. In the house, who cares. In the garage it will fill in with ****.

After looking at the Home Depot I spoke about I could not find a MFG tag or stamp on it? It only had a bar code on it. I did search the web for the UPC code and nothing at all. It felt awesome but did crack up when I bent it. I would buy to try and may do so after my epoxy floor job is completed.

I've used it as a cover material on some shelving, partly for durability but also for appearance reasons. It cuts easily and is generally good to work with.

Just so we are all on the same page. Home Depot carries BLT, Diamond Deck and I am sure others. The BLT product will have a BLT label on it. Diamond Deck is new, so if you made the purchase more than a couple months ago it is likely another product

GarageFlooring LLC, thanks - thats a lot of great, usable, inside info. You make a great point about installation - I'll ask a question shortly about that.

FamilyofEightKids - thanks for following through on your HD pledge - really appreciate that.

PC06 - I am based in Calgary, so thats good info from a fellow Canadian. How long have you had your shelving cover material?

JHelrey - thanks for that. How bad are the cracks? Minute/tiny? Visible from 10 feet? Is it from cold or wear and tear?

Question: If I install the DDeck on my pretty smooth and well laid concrete floor sans epoxy glue - and just glue the seams (with backing) - does a car/truck tire move the whole sheet/ cause wrinkles if I turn the wheels on it (to back out the garage for example).

Thanks - George

Only about 6 months and it doesn't get a lot of abuse. It looks good though!

I was just looking back at my emails from the owner of Auto-Care. On 5/15 he emailed that he would have the product in a couple of weeks. The product was launched ~ 6/1/12. Anything prior had to be a different product.

Their product is almost as thick as the BLT product. It is going to weight about 2/3 of a pound per square foot. It should not tend to move. That said if you are turning your tires standing still the product may bunch. One thing I like about BLT is the 10' wide gives is more mass left to right as well.

You are most welcome. One more thought; If you decide to move forward, give them a call. They have pretty strict pricing. They should be able to refer you to an independent dealer who can get you the product at the same price

I wanted to add one more suggestion to this thread. If you are evaluating two or three different garage floor mats or samples, look at the color on the top of the mat and look at the color on the bottom of the mat.

BLT, with the exception of Metallic Silver and printed products have the same color throughout the mat. On their custom and imaged series products the color layer is on the bottom (protected by 55-75 Mils of clear PVC.

Hey GF,

Thanks - interesting your feedback. I got the Diamond Deck flooring samples this afternoon. I noticed two things (apart from it being nice and soft, and good looking).

a) The colour is consistent throughout.

b) There is a cover layer over the top bonded to the "underlayer". I scraped it off with my finger nail (a portion of it anyway) and I was wondering what you thought of it in terms of longevity of product. I dont want it delaminating in the middle of winter or summer. My garage is outside, and will be exposed to -40degC in the winter and equally, + 35degC in the summer at times.

Any thoughts there?

Thats funny. I did the same thing!

I guess items (a) and (b) are mutually exclusive to me. All of their products appear to have a gray base layer with a thin layer of color at the top. I just don't know the answer to the question. YES, we can peel it off with our nail, but how does that relate to real life. For now, I am sticking with BLT. Its not perfect, no product is. BUT its made in the USA and except for silver is the same color on the top, in the middle and underneath.

Thanks a stack! I've been away for a while, and received your samples via the mail. They look awesome - thanks so much for sending them my way.

I am easily able to identify which product I'd prefer - down to the last two. I am now pacing back and forth between them.

I'm going to continue to research and see what I can find info wise that will help me make the best decision. Thanks again for those samples. I'm going to leave them on my garage floor, and let that influence me too!
