The problem with the sale ones at Home Depot, is that they are usually the RTA (Ready To Assemble) units, not the Welded units like they have a Sears.

Which ones are the "select" cabinets? RTA or Welded. There is no link, and I don't see them at Home Depot.

28"x28" are RTA.
30"x30" are welded.

Those are RTA. If you're not willing to take our word for it, look at the pictures... the welded cabinets don't have two screws at each corner like those do:

How much did you pay for them? The welded version can be had at Sears for $99 a few times per year.

I paid just under $100 each.

These are good units. They do screw together but come together pretty strong. I'm mounting them to block wall with anchors and lag bolts so i think that helps keep them tight.

Overall very happy with them. Will post pictures soon!

My garage has NO more room (well maybe one more) for $99 Premier Gladiator cabinets but take the TIPS provided by others here at GJ as great information. Some owners assemble their RTA properly and have no complaints but larger store display units are usually hastily assembled and racked. The welded cabinets are larger 30" x 30", welded square/strong, locks, wall brackets, and higher shelf load capacity and probably still USA. Either one you choose will be fine in a diy garage but Sears is on sale regularly and HD is an ez cancellation/return.

I think some of you are making the welded ones too big a deal. I have the "you assemble" cabinets and once they are put together they are plenty strong. I load mine up and have had zero problems. In theory welded would be better, in practicality it doesn't matter. Save your money and put it where it will really be beneficial.

save your money? I have 3 of the welded ones and haven't paid more than $90 a piece, all brand new from Sears. This is because of coupon codes and surprise points. The reason people make a big deal about the welded ones is because they are nicer. No putting them together and when assembling, you don't have to continually check if they are square. The welds are stronger than the crappy bolts the RTAs come with. Based on the fact that people are paying $100 at HD for the RTA units, I think I should be saying to yall "save your money".

As I just stated in another thread, the welded ones are made in the USA and you don't have the hassle of putting them together. I'm sure the RTA ones are fine, but for a very small difference in price, the welded ones are the only ones I would buy.
