My HD has the Ryobi L-ion 4 pc combo kit on clearance for $199.99.

Does anyone have this kit? Is it worth the money? How does it compare to the Ryobi One+ kit that runs $129-149?

ah, shoot, i should have jumped last week when i first saw the dewalt set...

i've always made the kids here at the high shool wood shop use corded tools (less expensive to replace and operate) but i would have bought this set.....and see how they held up...

oh well, snooze you lose!

Nm brand powertools are extremely marked up so I'm sure they are still a bit above breaking even. I'm sure it all depends on how many they purchased originally from the manufacture. However you never know these companies might be pushing HD to mark them down and get rid of them because they might be getting ready to introduce a new line of powertools for spring.

I'm looking forward to see what replaces these tools as at least with the miter saw, it just came out recently so I can't believe they would have a replacement model already. As for the Dewalt sets, I understand all of the manufacturers are moving to lithium ion so they would want to get rid of all of the old Nicad stock.

I was just at HD the other day and that is indeed what they did.
They had a 5 peice set with the better batteries for like $550 or something like that. IIRC it lacked the angle grinder.



But what brought this back to my attention was I got a email from Amazon today saying that they had up to 60% off Dewalt tools. I took a quick look and a few have decent prices so I thought I'd share with everyone else.
