i have a generator purchased from home depot, this one had a three year warranty.alternator burned up.i had no receipt showing the exact date of purchase(only the year of manufacture on the unit),so it could have been 3 years and 11 months old(only my word it wasnt).after talking with the manager it was repaired at no charge.this is why i buy at home depot, service is everything to me.thank you Joe Autry:rocker:

Just wondering, had the manager stuck to the letter of the return policy and told you "no dice", would you be posting a "Home Depot" ***** thread?

The reason I state this, you were fortunate as not every store would be so accommodating. Around here, the HD's have billboard size disclaimers up in the Service Center area on generator purchases and what is and and is not allowed in case of return or service is needed.

Onetime in Home Depot in Middletown NY, a shopper dropped a jug of water which split and dumped 5 gallons all over the floor right in front of the service desk. They yelled over the pager system that a water clean up was needed. A kid with a broom and a dust pan showed up immediately. I heard he got promoted to the tool department.
