I am a welder. I work in a metal shop where we use mostly high quality tools. Some of those tools are vintage Proto, JH Williams, Wilton, etc. But like the rest of the world we are undergoing changes. Recently our safety department has been on a kick to eliminate all tools that have any aftermarket “adaptations”. Some of the best tools in the shop are being scrapped and hauled away. I have rescued some of the those. I have a new collection of old ****. Vintage C clamps and shop hammers are the easiest for me to collect.
Here are some of them.

The nanny state strikes again. I bet the guys who made and used these suddenly dysfunctional, dangerous, ill-designed contraband hammers safely for years are none too happy.
