Well I have used this forum for a lot of information over the last months and finally decided to join. I am building a house in an flood plane. It is all steel and even the trusses are welded in place ...rib by rib. What I am working on is the freight elevator. I actually want to make it safe and functional. Does anyone have a set of diy plans that go beyond don't do it yourself. I want to use a 2 ton hoist that is standard with dual mechanical and dual electrical brakes. I want to add one more set of redundancy to the system with another safety cable, automatic activated centrifugal brake and then possibly a track safety brake. I want to run the corners and mids with trolleys running in barn door rails and top and bottom limiting switches. Any suggestions or plans close to this would be invited. I want to do some good homework and get it right and keep it in budget.
