Home made battery Desulfator

First off I don't want this thread to turn into a debate about weather or not pulse treating a sulfated battery will restore a battery with sulfated plates. I have already done the experiments and proved to my own satisfaction that it does work. So moving on from there, I would like to build a desulfator using a ready made square wave signal generator such as the little PCB ones you can find on Amazon. I would like to treat the batteries with a square wave as opposed to the usual sawtooth pulses. So creating a suitable square wave is not a problem, but I don't know how to amplify it with a triac or other device.

Can someone give me some direction on that? Thanks, Jim

Have you tried an incandescent light dimmer and a step down transformer? I think you will find it has the square wave output and current capacity you are seeking.

I use my TIG welder set on pulse mode. Used it recently to revive a 10 year old battery, that had low use,
that was 6 months ago battery still starts vehicle just fine.

Working in Liberia, I was often amazed at the skills of their shade tree mechanics.
Take a 120 V 60 W filament lightbulb. Connect in series wit a filled lead acid battery. Connect up and let cook for a few days.
Empty the battery and flush upside down, loads of oxides will come out.
Refill battery and charge.
Good to go, most of the time.

Did those guys empty the battery of Sulfuric acid, flush with fresh water and then pour the old acid back in or did they use new acid?

I have a battery with desulfate as one of the modes. It has done very well keeping my old batteries going.

I have a battery tinder that de-sulfates permanently mounted on my truck. feels a little strange plugging my truck into 120v, but it's not my daily driver so i figure I need to do something to keep it in good condition

Which Battery Tender has the ability to desulfate? I can find nothing on their website about a model they make that does this.
