Wow....all I can say is wow. Viva la diferencia! I've not laughed so hard in a while.

Got to agree, I keep checking back in disbelief, clueless asking for help, other clueless trying to help...

AKA; circle jerk, extremely funny.

I never learned much by doing the "normal things that always work" Thinking outside the box is what drives innovation, and invention. Why not experiment with something different? If you succeed, then your invention becomes the new way..

Give him 10 out of 10 for experimenting.

I played with a similar Idea years ago ,trying to bring down the decibels on a racecar without using restrictive mufflers.

The idea is to "pipe off" some of the gas-flow and re-route it via a longer and narrower path [ to increase gas velocity ]

Then when it re-enters the normal gas flow the two different velocities change the frequency by smoothing out pulses [and cancelling out sound-waves].

It worked OK[ish] , but an exhaust gas equalizer worked better [ 2 "U" bends welded together as a crossover pipe ]

It made me think of Helmholz resonators in intakes, so I did a quick search on HR exhaust..seems you are on the right track TDX2-16.jpg Helmholtz10witharrow.jpg Not such a crazy idea after all!

im glad i read the thread before i jumped to post. i was thinking the exact same thing. it just takes the harshness out of the tone. imo, glasspacks sound like ***. put a muffler behind the glasspack and have a nice mellow sound. glasspacks(resonators) actually help better after the muffler.
