Home made looking metal brake

I bought this metal brake at an estate sale a couple years ago, I finally got around to using it and it looks like its missing a part to hold the metal while bending, has anyone seen one like this? is this home made or do you think it was a kit of some sort? there are no tags on it, I was able to use it tonight buy clamping the metal with a chunk of cutting edge. I think i can make a swing away hold down bar but would love some pictures if anyone has one similar.
