That is beautiful and will last hundreds of years. It's going to be an antique in someone's house in the year 2400.

I need to buy a welder and learn how to weld. I want to make a 1/2 scale Model T pickup truck (Shriner's style parade car) for my winter project. I could weld up a frame out of tube stock.

Pretty nice.

Shoe rack that can double as a bench or step stool because it is overbuilt. :D

Personal pref and an observation. It look like you used a 'hard' grinding wheel to blend out the welds on the mitered corners. I prefer to use a flap disk to flatten out and blend welds in. For me, I can 'feather' out the grind a bit more evenly (and also have multiple grit flap disks to go from coarse to medium to fine grit as needed). I -think- I can see a faint 'shadow line' of the grinding telegraphing through the paint on a few of the mitered corners.

Second personal preference. It's not 'needed' from a strength standpoint in this application, but I don't like to leave an unwelded seam. I just don't like that 'open' seam/joint where a small neat fillet weld would 'close' it all up (the inside corner where the horizontal tubes meet the verticals). Again, personal preference and not 'needed'.

Nice rack dude. :D

I like your floor tile. Is it natural slate? A porcelain or ceramic lookalike?

It looks real good. Does it slide around on the floor? My only concern would be it getting bumped around and scratching the floor or wall. Maybe add some rubber feet to it?

Very nice, I may have to copy it, except make it taller and narrower. I've been needing to build a shoe rack beside the garage door.

I understand. I used a bit hard grid because the soft i got was way to soft. I did not mind seens the self was white and gonna stand in the hallway :)
And to your 'second personal preference' I totaly agree because when I painted it i could see the small gaps (if you could call it that) so next time it will be all welded.
Thanks for the feedback :)

The floor is stone tiles, all natural yes, thanks for notice :D

Nice shoe stand, bench, or even a car support.

I love stuff that is overbuilt. You never know what someone would use it for. :D

That thing would hold up a family of engineer boots.

As I typed that I wondered if they even sell engineer boots any more.
Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Nice Rack, I mean shoe stand, wood and steel and overbuilt, should last a couple of lifetimes. I would like to build one for my wife's shoes, but it would have to go to the ceiling. LOL
