Not bad. I wish I had the room & money for that matter, to have some nice sheet metal tools. I made this upright box a while back to replace my plywood box at work because I was tired of digging through it every timeI needed a certain tool.

This goes back to the days when an apprentice was expected to make his own tool box.
An expected interview question was “Let me see your tool box.”
They weren’t looking at the tools, they were looking at the box.
It said the kind of work you could expect from the guy.

I have my great grandfathers woodworking tool box under my bench.
Many of his tools still in it.
Well over 100 years old.
On occasion I dig out a tool for some need.

I could not match the workmanship or the ingenuity of storage.
There is no air in the box.
It is a 4x3x3 wood box full of tools.
But every thing easy to get to if you understand the scheme.

I toss out all the plastic boxes my hand tools come in and have a couple of large plywood tool boxes I built to hold bunches of stuff. I found that the homemade boxes impress customers when they see them on the jobsite.
Here's my hand tools box for cabinet installs.
