I have seen the phrase “I use the oven to powder coat small parts” a few times in different threads. My question is how do you do it and where do you get the materials from?:headscrat

I got my powder coating gun and supplies from Eastwoods.

I've been blasting the parts in my blast cabinet, blowing them off with compressed air afterwards then wiring them to the oven rack. I then powder coat them with the color I want and then place them in the oven and bake them.

I just blasted and powder coated several parts for my Mustang the past month or so including the alternator brackets, waterpump pulley, fan spacer, rear shock mount brackets and a set of original underdash lights I won off ebay.

I'm attaching some pics of the waterpump pulley being done plus one of the overall powder coating gun.

Jay just gave you all the details except for one thing, its addictive. It is so easy to get great results and so nice to coat a part and put it on the car a half-hour or less after you get it out of the oven instead of waiting for the paint to dry.

I find I frequently shoot a part and put it on when if I was still painting and found that unpainted part, I would have put it on just because of the time it would take, now I go "oops forgot to do that part" and coat it and put it on.

Geez...now you've got me to thinking I should find one of those wall ovens for my garage...

Thanks everyone; now that’s straight forward.

That leads to my next question. Anyone from Australia had experience ordering from Eastwood or know of a local agent for Hot Coat.

Uhhh.. you have no idea
I think they neighbours are getting pissed off, because there's also an old metal shelving unit that I will not throw away (It's metal! I can't just throw away metal!), a pile of old tires, an old lawnmower, and an old wooden skid that i'm keeping just in case
