Homebrew powder coating?

For bigger parts than a toaster over and for the best coverage, look into making your own electrostatic gun using a flyback converter from an old CRT TV, the bigger the screen, the better the results. Usually can find them free on CL.
You can make your own kiln out of bricks, an old server cabinet, heat sheilding and a burner.

Toaster is just toaster..... I flipped the toaster and let it sit on it's back, bend the tab that prevents the toaster door from opening too far so it can open too far.... and hang the small part... between the two grills....

Or you can DIY your self you have access to cheap sheet metal/ and insulations.... like those kalwools or fire bricks or cheap perlite and sodium silicate...
Can anybody post any useable info or links on how to DIY the electrostatic gun discussed above.

There are two builds on YouTube that I found helpful. One was from scratch and loonies beautiful. The other was large and ugly. He used old ovens. Took all the top and oven elements out and literally hung them on the walls. Used the stoves wires and electronics. Very cheap and had a big oven. Some people use electric smokers. The tall square ones.

YARD SALES,! That’s where they are. My toaster oven was $3. People toss out old ovens that usually work fine. They don’t Have a truck to haul it to the scrap yard. Here’s another on, appliance stores! They have a scrap pile of old stoves to haul away. They should let you have one for $10 and guarantee it will work or you just bring it back and grab one that does...... having a truck really helps a lot.......

Careful, these are extremely high voltage components and you could hurt yourself or worse handling a CRT that hasn't been discharged properly.
I just watched Craigslist. I wanted an oven without the burners on top. Eventually an old one out of a camper came up and was able to trade for it. I'm limited on space so it worked out well.

If you really just want to build your own I understand that but if you want to get right to powder coating some parts I have an Eastwood gun that works great, very robust and simple. I have a HF gun that I could never get working too.....

I would like to investigate this a little more to see if I can get myself setup for low bucks.

Best tip I have to share with you is this. Don't buy or build a bunch of stuff until you find out if you enjoy it first. Take that guy up on his el cheapo Eastwood gun, blast a few brackets and see if you have fun with the process or are more inclined to want to fling it across the shop. A lot of people jump in with both feet only to discover they hate it or don't immediately get the results they expect, and then unload all the stuff they bought or built on FaceBook coaters' pages or CraigsList.
As for the tricks, no way. You're on your own son. I had to spend years learning them (and are still learning them) so you can too. Experience can only come from doing, not reading.
