Guys I'm new to this forum and I do not know it all, but I know a little about compressors. I've seen a couple of them up for ID and it scares me to think some are being used. Be careful of using old rusty tanks!! several people have stated this in the forums, good job!! Please don't use water tanks for compressed air most are not safe for that use. If you use old refridge compressors (and some make good ones) beware the tank you useas alot of these compressors are capable of producing 300 psi!! If you make one of these up look into using a 40 gal or more propane tank (usually rated at 400psi) and be sure to use a popoff safety valve. I make no claims that this is completely safe but I know it is better than using a tank of questionable capability with a pump of unknown pressure output.:headscrat

LOL, I do the same thing. I pulled the compressor out of a 10 year old window air conditioner. Mounted it to a 20# propane tank (375 PSI factory pressure relief) and I can easily hit 300PSI. It's silent too, unforunately only around 1cfm though.

One thing I noticed though, if I hook up 100PSI input from my regular compressor, into the old A/C compressor, it pumps WAY faster, my 5CFM compressor can't keep up with it. Redneck dual stage!
